Systems for providing context to users can experience latency and data fragmentation, which may arise when systems operate reactively by executing synchronous queries across siloed data sources after a user interaction. An asynchronous process can periodically synchronize data from various sources, such as email and calendars, to build and maintain a localized vector knowledge graph that can model entities and their relationships. Navigating long-form media to locate scenes of a particular emotional intensity may be inefficient using conventional methods that rely on static thumbnails or broad metadata. Disclosed systems and methods can generate crowd-sourced affective metadata from physiological signals. Proposed herein are techniques to turn a heterogeneous quantum network into a controller-managed, intent-driven entanglement service that can support delivery of entanglement between quantum endpoints under specified statistical service objectives. A controller can compile quantum service requests into modality-aware paths, generate a time-bounded and evidence-based readiness assessment without measuring application qubits or entangled pairs allocated to the protected service, infer degradation risk from classical telemetry and quantum-derived observations obtained through protocol-required heralding measurements or measurements of separate calibration or test resources, and apply policy-bounded remediation to subsequent service attempts. Managing co-watching sessions may present difficulties when one user becomes inactive while others remain engaged, as continuing playback could create an inaccurate viewing history for the inactive user, while pausing could disrupt the session for active users. Systems and methods are described that can arbitrate playback by evaluating an inactivity signal from one user's device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or smart television, against countervailing activity signals from other session participants' devices. A method is disclosed for shortening and tuning the decay time of a drumhead’s resonant modes — including selectively shortening the overtones — using an acoustically resistive element held in close proximity to, but not touching, the drumhead. A porous or perforated material (open-cell foam, cloth, fiber, or perforated metal or plastic) is positioned within a distance small compared with the wavelength of the mode of interest. We describe a method for inferring, from a single instrumented point on a dwelling’s main water supply, (i) which plumbing fixture is drawing water and (ii) the presence and physical location of leaks.
