Many students attending community colleges are required to enroll in developmental education classes prior to enrolling into college-level classes. Students who need developmental education have a lower success rate within the college-level class than those students allowed to enroll directly into the college-level class (Pruett & Absher, 2015). Rapid advancements in crash modeling have yet to fully integrate multiple behavior-driven crash types and their severity outcomes within a single, scalable framework, specially in a way that captures the sequential nature of these behaviors where one risky action may amplify another. This study proposed an integrated multivariate econometric framework to jointly model crash frequency and severity outcomes for three major behaviorally driven crash types: alcohol-related, distraction-related, and aggressive-driving-related crashes. We present a method for calculating the effective mass and quasiparticle weight of a Landau Fermi liquid using time-ordered Green’s functions and a Wick rotation to the imaginary frequency axis. This technique simplifies the evaluation of self-energy derivatives by ensuring analytic properties compatible with contour deformations. We apply the method to the electron gas in both two and three spatial dimensions within the random phase approximation (RPA), and derive explicit expressions for the static and dynamic contributions to the self-energy. Polarization transfer between three $1/2$ nuclear spins in a specially prepared isotopically enriched molecule diethylphthalimide malonate-2-$^{13}$C,$^{15}$N molecule was obtained using the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) method. The polarization transfer was performed by implementing a sequence of radio frequency pulses and waiting intervals. Relaxation times and NMR spectrum for the studied nuclei were measured in samples of molecules with natural and enriched isotopes $^{13}$C and $^{15}$N. Measurements of the proton relaxation rate for diethylphthalimidomalonate and diethylpthalimidomalonate-2-$^{13}$C,$^{15}$N showed an increase in relaxation rate by a factor of 4 for protons bound to $^{13}$C,$^{15}$N nuclei. Nowadays, with the miniaturization of nanoindustry, we are increasingly interested in doping effects for nanotube systems. In this study, based on density functional theory (DFT) and local spin density approximation (LDA) methods within Hubbard U corrections, the electronic, magnetic and electrical properties of single-wall silicon carbide nanotubes doped with vanadium were theoretically studied. Although the undoped SiC system is nonmagnetic, the V-doped SiC nanotube induces magnetism and the total magnetic moment of this magnetic material is equal to ~1 µB. Density of states calculations indicated that the magnetization of SiC:V single-wall nanotubes mainly comes from the 2p orbitals of carbon …

This Essay uses a comparative framework to show that sophisticated design rights holders in both the United States (U.S.) and the European Union (EU) increasingly sidestep specialized design regimes in favor of more expansive trademark and copyright doctrines. Ded1p is an essential translation initiation factor that interacts with and is modulated by eIF4F. Ded1p also promotes the assembly and disassembly of stress granules, which contain nontranslating mRNAs and translation initiation factors. As Ded1p affects both mRNA storage and translation initiation, regulation of Ded1p's function may affect whether mRNAs are translated or localized to cytoplasmic RNA granules. To identify regulators of Ded1p in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, we screened for overexpression suppressors of the severe growth defect conferred by high levels of Ded1p. We analyze a delayed second order differential equation with small delay parameters, proving spectral stability via the characteristic quasi-polynomial and establishing uniform bounds on derivatives of the Green’s function to ensure sign preservation under perturbation, providing a foundation for monotone iteration methods. These results aim to advance the functional-analytic framework for traveling wave solutions in delayed reaction-diffusion systems.

OBJECTIVE: Compare time-to-fusion in patients treated with P-15L (PearlMatrix TM P-15 peptide enhanced bone graft) versus local autograft over 24 months and evaluate changes in pain and quality of life at 24 months relative to baseline.

BACKGROUND: Pseudarthrosis remains a significant complication of ACDF, contributing to patient morbidity and increased healthcare costs. Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RA), widely prescribed for diabetes and obesity, have been shown to reduced odds of pseudoarthrosis after ACDF. However, it remains unclear whether these reductions meaningfully translate to reduced odds of subsequent cervical surgery.

METHODS: The TriNetX United States Collaborative Network was queried for patients who underwent single- or multi-level ACDF between 2013-2023. Patients with perioperative GLP-1RA use and propensity-score-matched controls without GLP-1RA use were compared for subsequent rates of pseudoarthrosis and cervical reoperation at 6-, 12-, and 24-month intervals. While there’s a handful of Indonesian restaurants in Elmhurst, for those Indonesians who don't have the necessary funds or even paperwork to start a brick and mortar establishment, or who don’t want to cook at a restaurant scale, the three bazaars in Queens present an opportunity to emphasize authentic Indonesian food and to make a profit for the culinary inclined of the tight-knit community.

This article investigates urban redevelopment, climate change and environmental contamination in Brooklyn’s Gowanus neighborhood. The Gowanus Canal itself has been a designated EPA Federal Superfund Site since 2010, this designation does not apply to the land surrounding it where legacy industrial contamination still exists. This includes coal tar from former manufactured gas plants which poses a risk to groundwater and indoor air.
