This study explores how, under the trend of financial inclusion, designers can apply service design methods to embed human-centered thinking into fintech enterprises, thereby facilitating strategic transformation and guiding organizations to shift their focus from large enterprises to micro, small, and medium-sized businesses to achieve more inclusive services. Adopting an action research approach conducted over nine months and involving twenty-one cross-departmental meetings, the study found that designers visualized service breakdowns to initiate discussions and reveal organizational defensiveness and decision-making inertia. This study explores how design can contribute to collecting training data for AI models in complex clinical settings, particularly in the context of mental health counseling. Conventional labeling methods only record outcomes, failing to capture moments of expert judgment. This limits AI’s ability to learn the nuances of clinical reasoning. To address this issue, the study draws on the Interactive Machine Teaching (IMT) framework. In collaboration with clinicians, researchers co-designed and iteratively improved a real-time labeling interface. The interface was then refined and used in actual mental health consultations. This study explored how design could enact experiential futures in public issues with participatory contexts through three cases carried out by the Taiwan Design Research Institute. As futures thinking becomes increasingly relevant across civic and policy domains, there is a growing interest in how design can move beyond abstract speculation to make futures tangible and actionable. Specifically, this study examined how participatory workshops allowed participants to pre-experience futures through narratives, scenarios, and prototyping practices. AI-based tools are increasingly developed for clinical radiology, offering potential gains in diagnostic accuracy, consistency, and workflow efficiency. Yet adoption remains limited, as many systems lack support for effective human-AI collaboration within complex diagnostic workflows. To address this gap, we visually analysed 17 FDA- and/or CE-certified commercial radiology AI systems, examining how their interface designs operational ize human-AI interaction across three key dimensions: diagnostic task coverage, information richness of AI explanations, and human control mechanisms. Following the implementation of Taiwan's "zero euthanasia" policy, public animal shelters face rising intake numbers and declining service quality. This study applies service design methodology to optimize adoption services and promote responsible adoption behavior across two public shelters in eastern Taiwan. Using the triple diamond service design model, the research systematically progressed through three phases. The Problem Distillation phase employed experienscape model to identify environmental imbalances across sensory, functional, social, natural, and cultural dimensions. This study empirically investigates how data can strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration and explores the potential role of generative AI (GAI) as a complementary enabler. Eight teams, composed of designers and business professionals, participated in co-creation workshops where the availability of Big Data and Thick Data was systematically manipulated. The resulting ideas were evaluated across three dimensions: ‘Novelty’, ‘Usefulness’, and ‘Commercial Appeal’. Additionally, follow-up interviews were conducted to capture participants’ reflections on the collaborative idea generation process, utilizing the collected data. This paper investigates how designers utilise the past as part of the design process which stands as an under explored facet of design practice. Drawing on in-depth interviews (n=11) with professionals from both design and memory institution contexts—galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAM) that support design heritage in service of the public—we examine what aspects of the past designers engage with, including which pasts. Further, we identify under explored patterns in how the past is accessed, interpreted, and deployed as part of practice. This research study examines the notion of posthuman welfare in communication design, focusing on the affordances of assistive and interactive technologies recontextualised within more-than-human-centred frameworks. The study furthers the ongoing critique of anthropocentrism in design, highlighting the necessity of integrating nonhuman agency and emotive value into technology systems. The study employs a mixed-methods approach that integrates mini-surveys with participatory design workshops, involving actual users, designers, caregivers and advocates for nonhuman perspectives, thereby amalgamating multiple small-scale hands-on methodologies. This study is based on five selected principles from the Twelve Basic Principles of Animation to design short video breathing guidance interfaces with different combinations of rhythm regularity and temporal expectation. An experiment with thirty participants was conducted to examine how these temporal design factors influence relaxation experience, attentional performance, and cognitive load. Data were collected through EEG recordings, subjective questionnaires, and interviews. The results indicate that interfaces with stable rhythmic structures and clear temporal cues significantly reduced uncertainty and cognitive load, enhanced relaxation, and improved user experience. Although user journey mapping is widely employed to analyze and diagnose user experiences, it offers limited support for design exploration and refining product and service concepts. Recent advances in generative AI have created new opportunities to reconceive the journey map as a tool for creative design inquiry. The dialogue in the studio environment can reveal a lot about the mechanisms at play when teaching about and doing formgiving. From analysing language used in “desk-crits” at a master’s level mobility course, this paper reveals three distinct mechanisms at play when discussing form in industrial design. Contemporary visual warning systems primarily rely on conspicuity—using strong contrasts in color, brightness, and spatial arrangement—to attract attention. However, these systems often fail to ensure accurate interpretation and appropriate user response, particularly among cognitively vulnerable populations and within complex environments. To complement this limitation, this study introduces the concept of distinctiveness as a perceptual factor that enhances discrimination and interpretation in visual warning perception. In traditional exhibition practice, displays are predominantly object-centered, and information flows remain largely unidirectional, positioning visitors as passive recipients. Under this conventional curatorial paradigm, cultural translation and meaning-making processes are comparatively static and singular. Caregivers of adults with intellectual disabilities (ID) encounter various challenges that lead to stress and burnout. Although multi-modal behavioral information holds potential for improving caregiving efficiency in healthcare, there is still limited research on adapting these technologies to address the unique requirements of ID caregivers. This study employs an empathic design approach to understand the experiences, emotions, needs, and contextual challenges of ID caregivers regarding multi-modal behavioral information systems for adults with ID. This paper presents design methodologies for humanoid robots that have had achievements in international humanoid robot competitions. In addition, recognizing the gap between the fields of design and engineering, the paper proposes an approach that uses technical requirements to design disciplines. The proposed approach explains the heuristic mechanical and electrical design strategies informed by a multitude of practical experiences.
