Objective: To compare the surface defects created on the ProTaper Next files versus HyFlex Electrical Discharge Machining files after single clinical use in molars.
Methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted in the dental department of the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, from December 2018 to June 2019, and comprised Nickel-Titanium files belonging to HyFlex Electrical Discharge Machining and ProTaper Next to perform complete root canal treatment of molar teeth. Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of three-dimensionally (3D) printed aligners compared to conventional vacuum-formed thermoplastic aligners with varying levels of dental crowding.

Methods: Digital intraoral scans of 10 different cases were assigned to their respective groups (n=10, each, 30 total) as follows: no crowding (control), moderate crowding, and severe crowding. Using 3Shape software, digital aligner samples were created in standard tessellation language (STL) file format and randomly 3D printed. Objective: To measure translucency parameter, biaxial flexural strength, radiopacity and microstructure of various lithium disilicate materials used for dental restorations. Materials and Methods: CAD/CAM lithium disilicate glass-ceramic blocks: IPS e.max CAD (Ivoclar Vivadent), CerecTessera (Dentsply Sirona), and Amber Mill (Hassbio America) were used (shade A2, HT, and MT). Blocks of each material were milled (PrograMill PM7, Ivoclar Vivadent) into cylinders (diameter = 14 mm) and cut using circular sectioning saw (IsoMET 1000 Precision Saw, Buehler) into disc-shaped specimens (thickness = 1.00 ± 0.05 mm) (n=5/group). Methods: Thirteen craniosynostosis (CS) patients aged between 6 - 17 years old who had treatment at the Princess Sirindhorn Craniofacial (PSC) Center, King Chulalongkorn memorial hospital and thirty age-matched non-CS subjects were recruited. Aerosol-generating procedures with contaminated saliva may pose a risk of disease transmission during the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 preventive measures in dental clinics have evolved in response to the pandemic situation. This research investigated the effect of this pandemic on Thai patients' knowledge, attitudes, and behavior toward dental treatment. The online survey was distributed in June 2022. There were 978 participants in the study. The results showed that most participants had accurate knowledge about the COVID-19 transmission route in dentistry. งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาตัวชี้วัดที่ใช้ประเมินคุณภาพชีวิตในมิติสุขภาพช่องปากชนิด แบบประเมินผลกระทบของสุขภาพช่องปากสำหรับเท็มโพโรแมนดิบิวลาร์ดิสออเดอร์ ฉบับภาษาไทย และทดสอบคุณสมบัติการวัดทางจิตวิทยาของแบบประเมิน วิธีการวิจัยทำโดยการแปลแบบประเมินต้นฉบับภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาไทยและดัดแปลงข้ามวัฒนธรรม รวมถึงทดสอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาด้วยการหาค่าดัชนีความเที่ยงตรงของเนื้อหา โดยทันตแพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านทันตกรรมบดเคี้ยวและความเจ็บปวดช่องปากใบหน้าจำนวน 5 ท่าน จากนั้นนำแบบประเมินไปทดสอบกับผู้ป่วยคนไทย แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มผู้ป่วยทีเอ็มดี 110 คน และกลุ่มผู้ป่วยที่ไม่มีภาวะทีเอ็มดีซึ่งเป็นกลุ่มควบคุม 110 คน การทดสอบความเที่ยงภายในใช้การคำนวณค่าสัมประสิทธิ์ครอนบาคแอลฟาจากคะแนน OHIP-TMDs ของกลุ่มผู้ป่วยทีเอ็มดี ทดสอบความตรงเชิงโครงสร้างด้วยวิธีการตรวจสอบจากกลุ่มที่แตกต่างกัน โดยประเมินความแตกต่างของคะแนนของ OHIP-TMDs ระหว่างผู้ป่วยทีเอ็มดีและกลุ่มควบคุม รวมถึงทดสอบความเที่ยงจากการทดสอบซ้ำโดยผู้ป่วยทีเอ็มดี 30 คน กำหนดระยะเวลาห่างกัน 2 วัน และใช้ค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ภายในชั้นในการคำนวณ การทดสอบทั้งหมดจะกำหนดการทดสอบทางสถิติที่ระดับความเชื่อมั่นร้อยละ 95 ผลการวิจัยพบว่าแบบประเมินผลกระทบของสุขภาพช่องปากสำหรับเท็มโพโรแมนดิบิวลาร์ดิสออเดอร์ ฉบับภาษาไทยที่ถูกพัฒนาขึ้นมีคุณสมบัติการวัดทางจิตวิทยาที่ดี โดยแบบประเมินมีความตรงและความเที่ยงเมื่อนำมาศึกษาในผู้ป่วยคนไทย ซึ่งคะแนนของ OHIP-TMDs ระหว่างกลุ่มผู้ป่วยทีเอ็มดีและกลุ่มควบคุมแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ แสดงถึงความตรงเชิงโครงสร้าง รวมถึงมีค่าดัชนีความเที่ยงตรงของเนื้อหาที่ระดับ 0.92 ค่าสัมประสิทธิ์ครอนบาคแอลฟาที่ระดับ 0.942 และค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ภายในชั้นที่ระดับ 0.808 ดังนั้นแบบประเมิน OHIP-TMDs จึงมีแนวโน้มที่จะนำไปใช้ทางคลินิกสำหรับการประเมินและการจัดการภาวะทีเอ็มดีในกลุ่มผู้ป่วยคนไทยได้

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสภาวะสุขภาพช่องปากและผลของการฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพของผู้ป่วยโรคหลอดเลือดสมองที่โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ สภากาชาดไทย มีผู้ป่วยโรคหลอดเลือดสมองระยะฟื้นฟูที่กลับมาติดตามอาการในช่วง 3 เดือน ยินยอมเข้าร่วมโครงการวิจัยทั้งสิ้น 86 ราย ผู้ป่วยโรคหลอดเลือดสมองจะได้รับการตรวจสภาวะสุขภาพช่องปาก ทำการสัมภาษณ์ข้อมูลทั่วไป ร่วมกับการเก็บข้อมูลในเวชระเบียนของผู้ป่วย ใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนาอธิบายลักษณะของผู้ป่วยโรคหลอดเลือดสมอง และใช้สถิติสหสัมพันธ์แบบเพียร์สันและสเปียร์แมนวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสภาวะสุขภาพช่องปากกับผลของการฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพของผู้ป่วยโรคหลอดเลือดสมอง ที่ระดับนัยสำคัญ 0.05 สภาวะสุขภาพช่องปากประเมินจากจำนวนฟันธรรมชาติที่เหลืออยู่ จำนวนคู่สบฟันหลังและคะแนนแบบประเมินสภาวะสุขภาพช่องปากและฟันเทียมฉบับดัดแปลง ผลของการฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพของผู้ป่วยโรคหลอดเลือดสมองจะประเมินจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงของคะแนนค่าความรุนแรงของโรคหลอดเลือดสมอง ผลการวิจัยพบว่าจำนวนฟันธรรมชาติที่เหลืออยู่และจำนวนคู่สบฟันหลังมีความสัมพันธ์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติกับผลของการฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพของผู้ป่วยโรคหลอดเลือดสมองพบความสัมพันธ์เป็นแบบสหสัมพันธ์เชิงลบ สรุปผลการวิจัย จำนวนฟันธรรมชาติที่เหลืออยู่และจำนวนคู่สบฟันหลังมีความสัมพันธ์กับผลของการฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพของผู้ป่วยโรคหลอดเลือดสมองโดยพบความสัมพันธ์มีทิศทางตรงกันข้าม ผู้ป่วยที่มีจำนวนฟันธรรมชาติและจำนวนคู่สบฟันหลังที่มากสัมพันธ์กับค่าความรุนแรงของโรคหลอดเลือดสมองตอนผู้ป่วยออกจากโรงพยาบาลที่มีค่าความรุนแรงน้อยกว่า ผู้ป่วยจึงมีอาการเริ่มต้นไม่รุนแรงส่งผลให้มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงความรุนแรงของโรคน้อยกว่า การดูแลสภาวะสุขภาพช่องปากให้อยู่ในสภาพดีและการเก็บรักษาฟันธรรมชาติสภาพดีไว้ให้ได้มากที่สุดอาจจะเป็นปัจจัยร่วมปัจจัยหนึ่งในการลดความเสี่ยงความรุนแรงของโรคหลอดเลือดสมอง

Antiresorptive drugs are widely used to treat osteoporosis. A serious adverse effect of these drugs is medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ). By informing and educating patients about MRONJ, providing proper dental referral, and monitoring the oral health of patients who receive antiresorptive agents, physicians can reduce the risk of MRONJ. We investigated the awareness and clinical practices of physicians in Thailand with regard to MRONJ.
