A series of three reports were published by the Demining Programme Office in the Falkland Islands (Malvinas).

This report outlines the technical support provided to the demining programme during the Austral summer of 2009/2010. The majority of the technical support provided fell into two categories:

• Detection: activities intended to enable the contractor to establish their detection capabilities against the minimum-metal mines.
• Exploitation: examination of recovered mines in order to observe the effects of aging and assess their implications.

The focus of this research is to find the differences of how each state’s welfare policies have changed since the welfare reform act of 1996, and also how recipients have responded to this change. In my analysis I combined data from the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Preliminary results suggest that states with a higher percentage of recipients on welfare before the reform showed a greater change in number of recipients than states starting with a lower percentage as did states with stronger Democratic leanings, a more …

Every year each state comes out with a report on all the possible crimes that were committed and how many people were convicted for various crimes in a given state. The same goes for juveniles, as reported in the Juvenile Offenders and Victims 2006 National Report. I compiled data on the fifty states and their programs directed towards juveniles. I then compared the different crimes against the different programs to see if there was any significant difference in Crime rates between states having a specific juvenile justice program or not. On the 16th March 2010 at [International demining organisation] task CBU 478, an uncontrolled detonation of a US M series M77 sub-munition occurred while [International demining organisation] searcher [the Victim] was conducting sub-surface instrument search.

In 2004–05, the Inter-Agency Coordination Group for Mine Action (IACG-MA) endorsed the first UN Gender Guidelines for Mine Action Programmes to enhance the integration of gender considerations into UN mine action programmes. The guidelines were developed with the assistance of the International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA). This effort followed the launch by DPKO in 2004 of the Gender Resource Package for Peacekeeping Operations, which identified key gender issues and provided an overview of how they could be addressed most effectively. Studies suggest that the prevalence of mental illness in Latinos is similar to that of other groups; however, Latinos are less likely than non-Latino whites to access mental health services, and when they do, the quality of care is poor. To better understand the factors that influence use of mental health services among Latinos, a descriptive, cross-sectional, correlational study was conducted (N= 340; 219 non-consumers and 121 consumers), which examined the association between social capital, acculturation, cultural beliefs or explanatory models of illness, stigma, need, and mental health service use. According to the investigation report the de-miner was using the scraper direct on the top of the detected signal causing it to go off. It was then found that the exploded item was a MUV fuse. As a result of the explosion, [MUV fuze] sustained injuries on his eyes, right side ear, arm and head; the injuries indicate that the de-miner was not using his visor properly.
