ان ايجاد قطاع مصرفي سليم يعد شرطا اساسيا لإرساء دعائم نظام مالي مستقر، وعاملا محوريا في تحقيق تنمية اقتصادية بالمستوى المطلوب، ويتم ذلك من خلال انشاء نظام مصرفي قادر على حشد الموارد المالية واعادة تخصيصها وتحسين كفاءتها لخدمة النشاط الاقتصادي، والعمل على تحديث وتقوية القطاع المصرفي من خلال احداث تغيرات في الصناعة المصرفية واعادة هيكلتها لغرض حشد المدخرات المحلية والحد من ظاهرة راس المال المهاجر، مع امكانية جذب جزء من تدفقات الاستثمارات الاجنبية. ولكي تكون اصلاحات الانظمة المصرفية ناجحة لابد ان تكون جزء من استراتيجية أكثر شمولا للتغيير والاصلاح وتتجسد في تحرير القطاع المالي من القيود والعراقيل وايجاد بيئة تشريعية …

يهدف البحث الى توضيح اهمية استعمال مقاييس التدفقات النقدية للوصول الى مقياس يفيد في تقييم اداء المصارف. ولتحقيق ذلك فقد تم اختيار عينة من المصارف التجارية المدرجة في سوق العراق للأوراق المالية للمدة من 2006 الى 2015 وهي ثمان مصارف وباستعمال مجموعة من وسائل التحليل المالي والتحليل الاحصائي . تمثلت مشكلة البحث بأن هناك فجوة بين مقاييس التدفقات النقدية والتي يتم الوصول اليها من خلال اتباع الاساس النقدي وان الاعتماد على هذه المقاييس لا يعطي الصورة الواضحة للوصول الى اداء المصارف . وان فرضية البحث التي اخضعت للاختبار هي انه توجد علاقة معنوية للتدفقات النقدية على اداء المصارف. وانطلاقاً على …

Capacity, Sustainability, And The Community Benefits Of Municipal Utility Ownership In The United States, George C. Homsy

Public Administration Faculty Scholarship

Most literature on utility sustainability focuses on internal operations; this misses the role that utilities cold play within a community. This study measures the impact of municipal ownership of water and electric utilities on the sustainability policymaking of local governments. I find that municipalities with government-owned water utilities adopt more sustainability measures than those with investor-owned service. Similarly, municipally-owned electric utilities have higher levels of energy sustainability in the community, but not in government operations. The utilities provide fiscal and technical capacity to municipalities. This study brings potential community benefits to the discussion of private investment in public service delivery.

The documents offer a rich repository of the arguments on both sides of the debate and shine a light on the thoughtful, measured congressional oversight practiced in formative years of the House and Senate intelligence committees.

Introduction: This report studies the voter registration rates in face of the new Florida Gubernatorial elections in November 2018.

Methods:Using the latest voter registration data by race and party in Florida of July 30, 2018, this report provides an accurate statistical profile of the actual registered electorate. It also utilizes the U.S. Census Bureau’s data on the presidential election of 2016 and the November 2014 mid-term election, to indicate voter participation and voting rates by race and age.

Results: While nearly 64% of eligible non-Hispanic white voters went to the polls and supported the Republican candidate for president in 2016 …

Over 25 years, Leeway shifted in structure and grantmaking, yet has remained in line with its founder’s original mission: to fund women artists in the Philadelphia region.

As funders turn to community change, intentionally addressing the unique power differential between funder and grantee partners and structuring ways to mitigate this imbalance is essential to honest communication. Funder relationships with their grantees impact the legacy of major community initiatives. This article explores this relationship and its effects through the lens of the recent evaluation of one family foundation — the Robins Foundation in Richmond, Virginia — and its follow-up actions.

This article identifies and explores a set of philanthropic priorities and aspirations that are widely shared by grantmakers today, and examines how the notion of shared values might inspire a fieldwide pursuit of more consistent, effective, values-driven grantmaking practices.

To study the relationship between grantmaker values and grantmaking practices, a survey of more than 300 organization members of PEAK Grantmaking, a national association of specialists in grants management, asked how the respondent foundations’ values influence their work. The results of the survey not only provided an overview of common values, but also captured reports from grantmakers on how their organizations …
