Clothing is a powerful nonverbal communicative tool and form of self-expression that provides others with clues about our personality, mood, education, culture, financial status, and social ranking, amongst numerous other impression cues. Research shows that physical appearance plays a prominent role in the formation of initial judgments and is significant in shaping a person's overall impression on others (Richmond, McCroskey, & Payne, 1991). The Internet of Things promises to make relationships with technology more personal than ever. Voice-controlled virtual or artificial intelligence assistants such as Amazon’s Alexa or Google Assistant execute the commands of their users, providing information, entertainment, utility, and convenience while enabling consumers to bypass the advertising they would typically see on a screen. This “screen-less” communication presents significant challenges for brands used to “pushing” messages to audiences in exchange for the content they seek in hopes of creating preference. งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้ทำการศึกษาแนวทางการสื่อสารของผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดในอินสตาแกรม สำหรับสินค้าประเภทอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม โดยวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ จากการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกับผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดในอินสตาแกรมสำหรับอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม จำนวน 5 ท่าน และทำการศึกษาการเปิดรับ ทัศนคติ และพฤติกรรมการตอบสนองของผู้บริโภคที่มีต่อผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดในอินสตาแกรม สำหรับสินค้าประเภทอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม รวมถึงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างตัวแปรทั้ง 3 โดยวิธีวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ จากการสำรวจกลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 400 คน จากผลการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพพบว่า ผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดแบบบุคคลธรรมดา มักจะโพสต์เฉพาะภาพนิ่ง ส่วนผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดที่มีชื่อเสียง มักจะโพสต์ภาพเคลื่อนไหว และจากผลการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณพบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างส่วนใหญ่เลือกที่จะติดตามผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดทั้ง 2 ประเภท โดยมีความถี่ในการเปิดรับเป็นประจำทุกวัน ซึ่งรูปภาพเป็นรูปแบบของสารที่เปิดรับมากที่สุด ทั้งนี้กลุ่มตัวอย่างเห็นด้วยอย่างยิ่งต่อทัศนคติที่ว่าผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดมีความสามารถในการสร้างเนื้อหาให้น่าสนใจ และกลุ่มตัวอย่างมีพฤติกรรมการตอบสนองโดยการกดติดตามมากที่สุด ในขณะที่การเปิดรับสารมีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวก กับทัศนคติของผู้บริโภคที่มีต่อผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดในระดับต่ำ และทัศนคติของผู้บริโภคที่มีต่อผู้ทรงอิทธิพลทางความคิดมีความสัมพันธ์เชิงบวก กับพฤติกรรมการตอบสนองของผู้บริโภคที่มีต่อโพสต์ในระดับปานกลาง

งานวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1.) ศึกษาลักษณะการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้สูงอายุ 2.) เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยทางจิตวิทยาทั้งภายในและภายนอกกับผลต่อการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้สูงอายุ 3.) เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบปัจจัยทางจิตวิทยาภายใน ปัจจัยทางจิตวิทยาภายนอก และการรับรู้คุณลักษณะของนวัตกรรม และ 4.) เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองและความพึงพอใจในชีวิต ระหว่างผู้สูงอายุที่มีปริมาณความเข้มข้นในการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ระดับมากกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีปริมาณความเข้มข้นในการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ระดับน้อย กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้สูงอายุทั้งชายและหญิงที่มีอายุ 60 ปีขึ้นไป โดยทำการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกับผู้สูงอายุ รวมทั้งสิ้น 25 คน จากนั้นทำการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีปริมาณความเข้มข้นในการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ระดับมาก และผู้สูงอายุที่มีปริมาณความเข้มข้นในการใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ระดับน้อย รวมทั้งสิ้น 730 คน ซึ่งทั้งหมดอาศัยอยู่ในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร ผลการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพพบว่า ผู้สูงอายุตัดสินใจใช้งานเครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์เนื่องจากแรงกระตุ้นจากเพื่อน ลูกหลาน และบุคคลที่ชื่นชอบ โดยจะใช้งานใน 4 ลักษณะ ได้แก่ ใช้สร้างความสัมพันธ์กับคนอื่น ใช้หาข้อมูลข่าวสาร ใช้แสดงอารมณ์ความรู้สึก และใช้สร้างความภูมิใจในตน โดยปัจจัยที่แตกต่างกันอย่างมากระหว่างผู้สูงอายุที่ใช้งานเครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์กับผู้ที่ไม่ได้ใช้งานคือ การรับรู้ความสามารถของตน (Self-efficacy) นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่า การใช้งานเครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ช่วยส่งเสริมให้ผู้สูงอายุเกิดการสร้างเสริมพลังในตนเอง (Self-Empowerment) โดยเฉพาะในการหาข้อมูลที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อสุขภาพ ซึ่งส่งผลทำให้ผู้สูงอายุเรียนรู้การดูแลสุขภาพได้ด้วยตนเอง ไม่ต้องพึ่งพาผู้อื่น นำมาซึ่งการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองและความพึงพอใจในชีวิต ส่วนในการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ ผลการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุคูณพบว่า ตัวแปรที่มีประสิทธิภาพในการพยากรณ์การใช้เครือข่ายสังคมออนไลน์ของผู้สูงอายุมากที่สุดคือ ปัจจัยทางจิตวิทยาภายในตัวผู้สูงอายุ (Adjust R2 = .325) ซึ่งพยากรณ์ได้ที่ร้อยละ 32.5 ถัดมาคือ ปัจจัยทางจิตวิทยาภายนอกตัวผู้สูงอายุ (Adjust R2 = .313) ซึ่งพยากรณ์ได้ที่ร้อยละ 31.3 และคุณลักษณะของนวัตกรรม (Adjust R2 = .187) ซึ่งพยากรณ์ได้ที่ร้อยละ 18.7 ตามลำดับ

This study provides an evaluation of instructional risk communication practices in Brazil's response to the Zika virus during the 2016/2017 campaign. The communication was instructionally focused, explaining the way the disease is transmitted, what to do if the person is infected, and characteristics of the mosquito. The authorities also tried to convince the publics that, because the mosquito breeds in everyone's houses and apartments, everyone could be part of the solution. This study identifies and compares the methods of recruitment used by three prime jihadist organizations through their online magazines. In this research, I seek to explain how three different foreign policy actors, the President, key Senators, and the media frame intervention policy when determining if intervention is used for human rights versus U.S. interests. I will be looking at four different areas of turmoil (Bosnia (1992-1995), Rwanda (1994), Syria (2011-present) and Iraq (2003-2011)) to see if the Presidents, Senators, and the media framed their intervention around human rights atrocities being committed, or if they framed it around a national security dilemma.

Many high school students in Ghana have access to social media using several devices with internet connectivity including Ipads, mobile phones, laptops, tablets and others. Some parents and educationists believe social media has negative impact on students. They argue that social media makes students incapable of making independent and critical analysis of issues and events. Notwithstanding this, other parents, educationists and students applaud the positive impact of social media on learning and social cohesion. The findings of this study reveal that social media has positive impact on the academic and social life of Ghanaian senior high school students.

Mental health services underutilization has been a prevalent issue in Chinese immigrant community in the United States. Using a nation wide survey of 445 Chinese immigrants in November 2017, this study investigates the effects of cognitive barriers (i.e., acculturation levels) and affective obstacles (i.e., mental illness stigma) on Chinese immigrants’ perceptual, attitudinal, and behavioral responses toward mental health services, by combining situational theory of problem solving and the theory of planned behavior.
