The primary purpose of this work is to call attention to the existence of Latin words in the Greek New Testament and to present an objective study of them. As a corollary to this study, the impact of Graeco-Roman culture upon Judea in terms of these words, their synonyms, and related words is pointed out. Glimpses of the background of the New Testament figures afforded through this study lend perspective to the New Testament pages.

To present a study of the various meanings of the words revelation and inspiration that have been used in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

B. Significance.
This thesis points out the difficulties involved in the understanding of the theology of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when the two words are used without discretion. The thesis elucidates the various meanings of the words and presents the doctrine arising from their meaning that has been generally understood and confirmed by the leaders of the Church.

In the Stockton Junior College it is common practices that the freshmen who have passed the English matriculation examination are allowed to make their own selection of courses in either the field of English or in the field of speech; those who have failed to pass the Subject A examination are obliged to enroll is a Laboratory English course in which special emphasis is given to increasing the affective use of English skills. Let us attempt in thirty minutes to trace the million-year history of man's blundering yet ever more successful efforts to learn to think, to solve problems, to cooperate, construct and create. If we can trace the important steps by which the man-animal has become man and has developed thought patterns for the discovery of the truth he needs to guide his action and to solve his problems, we shall in so doing indicate the essential nature of a phylogenetic psycho-logic of importance for a fundamental science of education, i.e. a science of the evolution of human intelligence.

The theory of General Semantics in its present (1935) form is essentially that there exists in the human nervous system a general mechanism, somewhat similar in nature of concept to that type of functioning which we have been calling vaguely, intelligence. In distinction, however, to the commonly held views on intelligence, General Semantics implies that this mechanism is exceedingly amenable to environmental influences; that it may, in other words, show marked effects of training in Semantic methods.
