Human history is full of many bitter examples of natural calamities which affected mankind with heavy losses. The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the most disastrous calamities which momentously impacted every sphere of life, especially, higher education and the use of academic libraries. This pandemic instigated the worldwide subsequent lockdown policies imposed by various governments. These policies badly devastated the physical use of the academic libraries. A Reconsideration Of Library Treatment Of Ethically Questionable Medical Texts: The Case Of The Pernkopf Atlas Of Anatomy, Jamie Saragossi, Kathleen Kasten-Mutkus, Laurel Scheinfeld

The Pernkopf Atlas of Anatomy consists of anatomical drawings created by Austrian physician Eduard Pernkopf, an active member of the Nazi Party during World War II. While the book was known for its highly detailed anatomical drawings, in the 1990s it was determined that Holocaust victims were likely used as subjects for the drawings. Using a survey, the authors aimed to gather information about the presence of this monograph in academic libraries today to provide best practice recommendations for academic libraries in their approach to ethically questionable materials.

When humorist Tommy Tighe tweeted that he is “so Catholic I bury old parish bulletins instead of throwing them out whenever I clean out the van, just in case,”1 many on #CatholicTwitter felt a twinge of recognition. In addition to the human tendency to accumulate material things, there is also legitimate concern in a Catholic context about discarding materials associated with the practice of faith. The parish bulletin is an extreme example; we can safely relegate that to the recycle bin once we have read about the ladies’ breakfast and the Christmas wreath fundraiser. This case study describes a multi-year project to reclassify the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ (UNLV) University Archives. UNLV’s Special Collections and Archives decided to rethink and reorganize University Archives based on data collected during an archival collections survey. The steps included moving away from the existing record series classification and implementing a new collection classification schema that will improve discovery and access. This study outlines steps taken during the survey and describes how staff analyzed existing collection records and metadata in order to create more cohesive intellectual control of archival materials across the Special Collections and Archives Division. Urban warfare is as old as human history. It is becoming increasingly important in international political and military planning due to increasing global urbanization and the presence of megacities (urban areas with populations exceeding 10 million) in many global regions and being in areas of recent and potential military conflict. 2018 World Bank data notes that approximately 56% of the world's population lives in urban areas which is up from 34% in 1960. Purpose
This paper aims to discuss what it means to consider the information experience of academic information management from a constructivist grounded theory perspective. Using a doctoral study in progress as a case illustration, the authors demonstrate how information experience research applies a wide lens to achieve a holistic view of information management phenomena. By unifying a range of elements, and understanding information and its management to be inseparable from the totality of human experience, an information experience perspective offers a fresh approach to answering today's research questions.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the barriers to using information technology in the education of librarian students of Tehran Iran Azad University. The purpose of this study is an applied descriptive survey. The statistical population of this study includes all students studying at Tehran Azad University. Based on Cochran's formula, 107 people were selected based on stratified random sampling criteria and the required information was collected through a researcher-made questionnaire with 27 items.

Publicly Accessible National Security Information Resources: An Untapped Treasure Trove, Bert Chapman

This presentation demonstrates the wide variety of publicly accessible U.S. Government national security information resources. It includes information on the U.S. constitutional foundations of national security policy, a recent annual defense spending bill, documents from the White House/National Security Council, Department of Defense, various military branches including professional military educational institutions, assorted U.S. intelligence agencies, congressional legislation, congressional committee reports on legislation, congressional committee hearings, and reports from congressional support agencies such as the Congressional Budget Office. It concludes by stressing the multiple benefits provided by having public access to these information resources.

Today, more and more academic libraries provide or plan to provide library-based research data services (RDS). This study examined how effective the ICT gadgets are used in securing books in academic libraries and what technological approach the libraries will adopt in the future to ensure books are secured from mutilation and theft. The study was also to understand why students steal or mutilate books. A semi-structured interview was the qualitative research design used to collect data from six librarians. It was discovered that the libraries had adopted the use of ICT security gadgets like Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, surveillance cameras, self-service machine, magnetic strips.
