Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease induced by dysbiotic dental biofilms. Management of periodontitis is primarily anti-bacterial via mechanical removal of bacterial biofilm. The successful resolution requires wound healing and tissue regeneration, which are not always achieved with these traditional methods. The discovery of specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs), a class of lipid mediators that induce the resolution of inflammation and promote local tissue homeostasis, creates another option for the treatment of periodontitis and other diseases of chronic inflammation. Their pathogenesis is generally similar; however, the prognosis of ocular melanoma patients is still poor, due to its special genetic profile and tumor microenvironment. Oral ulcerations caused by aphtous lesions, leukoplakia, scarlet fever, syphilis, NOMA, mucormycosis herpetic lesions, candidiasis, discoid lupus erythematous, ulcerative lichen planus, mucous membrane pemphigoid, spongy nevus, oral submoucs fibrosis and pemphigus vulgaris are treated in a step-up fashion that may include topical, intralesional, and systemic pharmaceutical treatment. This page discusses the most often used therapy agents, methods, and dosages. This study evaluated M1 and M2 macrophage polarization in human periapical cysts and granulomas through an immunohistochemical analysis and investigated the correlation between the macrophage polarization and histopathological diagnosis, clinical features and lesion volume using cone-beam computed tomography. The periapical biopsies histopathologically diagnosed as radicular cyst (n=52) and periapical granuloma (n=51) were analyzed by immunohistochemical method. Objectives: To investigate the response of primary human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) to self-adhesive resin cement (SARC) extracts. Methods: Two types of SARCs, RelyXTM U200 (RX) and Maxcem EliteTM Chroma (MC), were polymerized using various curing methods (light-cured, light-cured through 1- or 2-mm zirconia, and self-cured) (n=9/group). HGFs were exposed to cement extracts at different concentrations. Treated HGFs were assessed for cell viability, vitality, wound healing, and gene expression at different time points. This study was a randomized double-blind crossover study conducted on patients with dry mouth. They were given three saliva substitutes: Hy-N, placebo, and Biotène spray, which were randomly allocated in a different order. Each spray was used for 1 week, followed by a 3-day wash-out period. Objective: The aim of the study was to compare medium to long-term clinical and patient reported outcomes between implants placed with Computer-assisted Implant Surgery (CAIS) and freehand protocols. Materials and Methods: Thirty dental implants in the anterior maxillary region with an average of 4 years after loading were assessed by means of Pink Esthetic Scores (PES), Marginal Bone Level (MBL), clinical and patient reported outcomes. Results: CAIS significantly outperformed freehand placement with regards to PES scores (p=0.011). Likewise, implants placed with CAIS showed significantly higher marginal bone levels (p<0.001). Bleeding on Probing, Probing depth and prevalence of mucositis did not differ between the groups, while no peri-implantitis was diagnosed. Conclusions: The use of CAIS lead to superior outcomes in terms of esthetics and marginal bone levels for implants placed in the aesthetic zone as observed in medium to long-term follow-up. No difference was however observed with regards to peri-implant mucosa inflammation.

The objective of this research was to examine sorption, solubility, and surface properties of three widely used CAD/CAM materials: resin composite (Cerasmart; CS), polymer-infiltrated ceramic network (Vita Enamic; VE) and lithium disilicate glass ceramic (IPS e.max CAD; LS). 45 rectangular-shaped specimens were prepared and immersed in deionized water for varying durations. These specimens were then subjected to evaluate their water sorption, solubility, surface roughness, and surface hardness. In the event of proximal contact loss in a zirconia crown on an implant, the zirconia crown can be modified by adding porcelain to recreate the proximal contact. This study investigated the shear bond strength between translucent zirconia (4Y-PSZ) and veneering porcelain compared to conventional zirconia (3Y-TZP). Zirconia substructures were treated with airborne-particle abrasion with Al2O3. The results of the shear bond strength test were analyzed by One-way ANOVA and post-hoc comparisons with Tukey’s honest significant difference (HSD) test.
