Purpose. To evaluate the effect of ceramic translucency, ceramic thickness, and cement color on the final optical color of a CAD/CAM lithium disilicate ceramic. Methods. A total of 180 ceramic specimens were prepared into two thicknesses, 0.5 and 1.0 mm, from high translucency (HT), medium translucency (MT), and low translucency (LT) CAD/CAM lithium disilicate ceramics (IPS e.max CAD; Ivoclar Vivadent) in shade A1. This in vitro study investigated the effect of 2 light-polymerizing units (LPUs) on the physical and chemical properties of 2 SARCs under varying simulated clinical scenarios and the responses of primary human gingival fibroblasts (hGFs) exposed to such procedures. This study explored the usability of prompt generation on named entity recognition (NER) tasks and the performance in different settings of the prompt. The prompt generation by GPT-J models was utilized to directly test the gold standard as well as to generate the seed and further fed to the RoBERTa model with the spaCy package. In the direct test, a lower ratio of negative examples with higher numbers of examples in prompt achieved the best results with a F1 score of 0.72. The performance revealed consistency, 0.92-0.97 in the F1 score, in all settings after training with the RoBERTa model. …

The current standard of care for treating chronic periodontitis is scaling and root planing (ScRP) followed by supportive periodontal therapy (SPT) (Cobb et al., 2021; Ramfjord et al., 1987). The goal of ScRP is to eliminate supra- and subgingival bacterial deposits and to reduce periodontal pathogens, inflammation, and pocket depths (Greenstein, 2000). Although ScRP has been shown to significantly improve baseline clinical parameters, moderate to advanced cases may require additional surgical therapy which many patients resist (Stambaugh, 1981; Becker et al., 2001). In this study, we evaluated the esthetic perceptions of prosthodontists, general practitioners, and laypeople in elderly smile, using varying the exposure of the maxillary incisors in rest position and a full smile, size of buccal corridor and gingival display of maxillary posterior teeth. The picture of elderly smile was modified and shown with randomized sequence. Participants are asked to rate each image by using a numerical visual analog scale (0-10 scale). Watermelon stomach, also known as gastric antral vascular ectasia (GAVE) syndrome, is a rare entity. Patients often present with profound unexplained anemia with or without bleeding externalization. We made the diagnosis during a digestive endoscopy for an etiological assessment of this anemia. Endoscopically, antral erythematous lesions in stripes with a punctate appearance, sometimes hemorrhagic, may suggest a watermelon stomach. The pathophysiology of the watermelon stomach remains complex and unclear. Although several pathologies remain implicated, sometimes, it can be idiopathic. Aim: To assess the effect of chin augmentation using Hyaluronic acid filler on facial soft tissues using lateral cephalometric radiographs. Material and methods: Prospective case series. 10 adult female patients with mild chin deficiencies. Patients underwent chin augmentation using Restylane Defyne hyaluronic acid dermal filler. Each patient received 2ml Filler injected in the chin area. Lateral cephalometric radiographs were taken at three-time intervals for each patient. The first radiograph taken before augmentation procedure, second radiograph two weeks after filler injection and the third and final radiograph taken six months after the augmentation procedure. Introduction: This study investigated the effects from the carious cavity and access from it on the fracture resistance of endodontically treated maxillary premolars using finite element analysis (FEA).
