Enclothe: Oer Implementation And Evaluation For A Fashion Show Theory And Production Course, Christine Rickabaugh, Sarah West Hixson

The ENCLOTHE Open Educational Resource (OER) textbook was developed and implemented for a Fashion Show Theory and Production course at a Mid-Southern University in the United States. This case study examines the effectiveness of this specialized OER in addressing the unique needs of an upper-division capstone fashion course. The textbook, designed to replace a costly industry-focused resource, offers interactive modules, video clips, and assignments compatible with learning management systems. Using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the study evaluated students' perceptions of the textbook's usefulness and ease of use across time points during the semester. Researchers and educators are required to ensure that no direct interaction with animals, i.e., interaction beyond the ethics screening level, will be initiated until Animal Research and Education Ethics Committee (AREEC) approval is received. Depending on the nature of the study described below, the study may require a preliminary review by the AREEC Chairperson and may be subject to further clarification. Please note that all questions requiring either a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer must be completed –if you fail to do so, or leave them blank, your form will be returned.

This form is applicable to university researchers and educators.

The University’s Animal Research and Education Ethics Committee (AREEC) facilitates the statutory required formal ethical review of all research and educational activities that involve animals as subjects considered sentient beings prior to commencement of the study. Researchers and educators are also required to liaise with the Animal Welfare Body (AWB) in respect of animal interactions. The AWB manages the wider context of animal welfare in accordance with Animal Welfare legislation.

This event was held in the Young Main Lounge, Memorial Center, on September 23, 2025 and was preceded by Mayor Dan Brady presenting IWU President Zenger with a resolution marking September 23 as "Illinois Wesleyan Day" in honor of our 175th anniversary.
