Our Honors Impact: Evidence Of Honors Student Experience And Outcomes, 01 - The Initial Evidence Review, Brian Hoey, Honors College
Publications of the Honors College at Marshall University
Our Honors Impact, 01: Evidence of Honors Student Experience and Outcomes presents an initial review of student-centered evidence collected by the Honors College at Marshall University through its developing Honors Impact Evidence Bank. Drawing on student reflections, supported-project deliverables, program assessments, profiles, and other documented experiences, the report examines how honors education is experienced in practice and what becomes possible through integrative and experiential learning, mentorship, peer connection, financial support, global engagement, and opportunities for independent inquiry. Student narratives illustrate recurring patterns of intellectual growth, confidence, belonging, professional development, and connection to Appalachia and West Virginia. As the first edition …

Systems Manuals - 2026
A software platform that enhances many processes correlated with learning is called a learning management system (LMS). It is also known as a management software package that enables the delivery of learning content, resources and activities and also that handles the correlated administration operations. In classrooms, today, teachers, are being commenced with convenience to remodel learning from a traditional transmission model to a student-centered model where students are mostly responsible for their learning. The research conveys that in order to remodel learning, schools require to support a student-centered approach where students can be supported in finding, analyzing, organizing, evaluating, internalizing, …

Leslie Hiatt: Visions of Paradise
Step into a world where memory, nature, and imagination dissolve into luminous color and rich textures. Curated by Antonio Permuy, this solo exhibition of artist Leslie Hiatt invites viewers into her signature Impressionistic landscapes where ethereal florals drift through suspended dreamlike, atmospheric spaces and connect you with realms just out of reach of the senses. Alongside these beloved works,
Visions of Paradise unveils a selection of her recent mythology-inspired pieces and other rarely seen creations, offering a deeper glimpse into the evolving language of her practice.
Hiatt’s work is rooted in a reverence for nature, …

The Flight Of The Purdue Owl: An Institutional History, Harry C. Denny, Vicki R. Kennell, Garrett I. Colón
The Founders Series
The Flight of the Purdue OWL: An Institutional History chronicles both the widely known Purdue OWL website and the lesser-known but much-celebrated on-campus writing center. Purdue University is renowned for its world-class STEM curriculum as well as its intercollegiate athletics. The university also receives considerable attention, however, for the OWL website, which is one of the most used educational resources in the world. The on-campus OWL is also a highly regarded collegiate writing center. This book tells the history of how the Purdue OWL grew out of decades of faculty working with students and their desire for a laboratory where …

Making Data Usable For Schools And Colleges: The Regional Data Collaboratives Approach, Benjamin Boer
Making Data Usable For Schools And Colleges: The Regional Data Collaboratives Approach, Benjamin Boer
Reports, Analyses, and other Publications
This white paper outlines a strategic initiative by the Education Systems Center (EdSystems) to establish regional data collaboratives that improve how schools and colleges use information. Unlike traditional top-down accountability models, these collaboratives focus on longitudinal data sharing to help administrators understand student transitions from ninth grade through postsecondary completion and into the workforce. The framework relies on four core competencies: legal data agreements, secure management, linking analytics, and meaningful presentation of results. By examining factors like dual credit, pathway participation, and 9th-grade performance, these partnerships aim to identify and eliminate educational inequities. Ultimately, the initiative seeks to create a …

The Use Of An Escape Room As A Learning Tool, Margaret Trnka
The Use Of An Escape Room As A Learning Tool, Margaret Trnka
UNLV Best Teaching Practices Expo
The use of escape rooms as an active learning strategy in nursing education promotes student engagement, clinical reasoning, and teamwork. By integrating unfolding patient scenarios with time-sensitive problem-solving tasks, escape rooms align with the principles of game-based learning and the Clinical Judgment Measurement Model (CJMM). This approach encourages students to recognize cues, prioritize interventions, and apply evidence-based practice in a collaborative environment. Incorporating escape rooms into nursing curricula has been associated with increased student satisfaction, improved knowledge retention, and enhanced readiness for clinical practice and Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) expectations.
Service-Informed Pathways Proposal, Joshua Works
Service-Informed Pathways Proposal, Joshua Works
UNLV Transfer Student Seminar Poster (COE 303)
This project explores how food insecurity affects UNLV students’ nutrition and proposes practical ways to strengthen the UNLV Food Pantry. Through six hours of volunteer service and a review of research, I identified key barriers, including stigma, limited access to fresh food, and low awareness. The proposal recommends three actionable improvements: simple nutrition handouts, peer-led outreach to reduce stigma, and stronger partnerships to ensure consistent access to fresh produce. These steps aim to improve daily nutrition, increase pantry usage, and support better academic outcomes. This work combines hands-on service experience with research to offer realistic, low-cost solutions that can help …

Bill Brand Interview By Alex Morris, April 6, 2026, Bill Brand, Alexander Morris
HIST 4798/5798: Recording Memory: Methods and Uses of Oral History
In this 2026 interview, Bill Brand, a former corporate executive and, since 2023, a trustee on the Ohio University Foundation Board, discusses his lifelong connections to Ohio University (OU) and Athens, Ohio. An OU alum, Brand earned a Bachelor of Science from the Scripps College of Communication in 1987. He discusses what about OU—from when he first visited in the early 80s up until now—has continued to entice him into involvement with the university. In particular, he touches on the strong sense of community within both the university and Athens as a whole, which he asserts serves as a safe …
