The Effect Of Website Quality On Repurchase Intention With The Mediation Of Perceived Value: The Case Study Of Online Travel Agencies In Vietnam, Huyen Pham, Thu Nguyen

Journal of Global Business Insights

The sharing economy is getting broader with its non-ownership assets, better use of resources, lower prices, and more customized products (Belk, 2014). In tourism industry, the development of the sharing economy involved the emergence of online travel agencies (OTAs) who are intermediates between services providers and consumers, provide accommodations, transport services, food and beverages services, tour guide services, etc. (Skalska, 2017). Recently, Vietnam has experienced a rapid growth in the number of users booking tourism products and services through OTAs. Playing such an important role in the tourism market, it is essential for OTAs to retain customers which later bring …

A Longitudinal Examination Of Fda Warning And Untitled Letters Issued To Pharmaceutical Companies For Violations In Drug Promotion Standards, Yam Limbu, Christopher Mckinley, Valerio Temperini

Department of Marketing Faculty Scholarship and Creative Works

This study examined over-time differences in the nature and frequency of Food and Drug Administration warning and untitled letters issued to pharmaceutical companies. Across a 12-year time frame, results indicate that frequency of letters and specific violations rose steadily from 2005 to 2010 but have since fallen dramatically. When infractions do occur, they continue to result from the omission or lack of risk information, misleading/false claims, omission of material facts, and labeling issues. In addition, the findings show that violations occur most frequently on brochures, sales aids, corporate websites, and print ads, with the proportion of violations on Internet media …

Priming From The Pulpit: Extending Regulatory Focus Theory To Church Services, Clark D. Johnson, Brittney C. Bauer, Christine Christine Ascencio, Yunmei Kuang

School of Business: Faculty Publications and Other Works

The purpose of this research note is to extend a powerful cognitive psychology theory—regulatory focus theory— to a specific nonprofit organization: churches. We apply this theory to the design of church services to model how church leaders can structure services to enhance congregant experience and generate positive behavioral outcomes. We present an experiment utilizing 126 adult Americans as initial evidence for our framework. The results indicate that using appropriate regulatory focus priming strategies can increase congregant donations.

Do Mobile Banner Ads Increase Sales? Yes, In The Offline Channel, Ernst C. Osinga, Menno Zevenbergen, Mark W. G. Van Zuijlen Mar 2019

Do Mobile Banner Ads Increase Sales? Yes, In The Offline Channel, Ernst C. Osinga, Menno Zevenbergen, Mark W. G. Van Zuijlen

Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business

Firms allocate increasingly large budgets to mobile banner advertising. Yet, existing research paid only scant attention to the sales effects of mobile banner ads. In this paper, we fill this gap by determining the offline and online sales impact of a large-scale mobile banner advertising campaign. As part of a geographical field experiment, over 3.5 million mobile banner ads were served to a predetermined geographical area. We determine the offline and online sales effects of the mobile banner ad campaign by analyzing twenty months of sales data for regions covering the entire country of the Netherlands. Relying on a difference-in-difference …

Gender East And West: Transnational Gender Theory And Global Marketing Research, Katherine Sredl Feb 2019

Gender East And West: Transnational Gender Theory And Global Marketing Research, Katherine Sredl

School of Business: Faculty Publications and Other Works

Much of the prior scholarly research on global gender and marketing tends to focus on development. The post-socialist space does not fit neatly into this paradigm, given the diversity of its legacy of ideology, industrialization, feminist thought, and the post-socialist experience of privatization, democratization, European Union expansion, and, in some cases, war. This chapter uses the history of feminist thought in Yugoslavia and Croatia to highlight the contribution the post-socialist space brings to global gender and marketing research: questioning the role of the state in securing rights and questioning assumptions about individualism in a neoliberal era. I argue for an …
