(2025) to the Special Issue on Synergies in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching (SLA/T) (Atkinson et al., 2025). Our own position is diametrically opposed to such claims.

The subject of my paper is the Berber oral literature of central Morocco, the linguistic area of the Tamazight dialect: the healing cantilenas sung by women. These songs are sort of melodies, laments in the usual sense of monotonous and melancholy songs. The monotony lies in the melody and rhythm of the poetic verses sung, and the melancholy is due to their content, which generally relates to the things of life : sorrow, pain due to disappointed love, or simply feelings of nostalgia and sadness.

How to give place – and what place – to a story made of fragments of narratives, reluctance and silences? This is the question addressed in this article, which focuses on the female part of the history of the Algerian war of independence. Through the approach of Liamna's story (the cry, inarticulate and yet so eloquent by the silence that follows it), the question arises of what can make heritage and heritage. At the same time the question arises of the posture of the one who writes and thus keeps a trace of the cry and silence.

This contribution is based on research into fifteen Tamazight stories collected from the Ayt Khebbach in the Tafilalt region of south-east Morocco between 2002 and 2010. The aim is to give an overview of some elements of Tamazight production, to describe very briefly the corpus of tales studied and to analyse some key categories concerning the Amazigh women of the Ayt Khebbach, in order to understand the structure of the meaning of the stories. This article proposes an overview of the most prominent cultural aspects in Mazouna which are indicative of strong ties with the Berber language. Some sociolinguistic traits are presented to show that Mazouna gathers considerable local arabo-berber resources that need to be compiled, investigated, digitalized and valorized as part of Algeria’s immaterial cultural patrimony.

Volume 8, Issue 1 examines dynamics of change in the Maghreb by showing how digital transitions reshape languages, memories, and heritage. The contributions connect linguistic and script visibility in urban spaces with living transmission—songs, women’s healing chants, tales, and proverbs—understood as ongoing remediation and narrative recomposition. They also stress the urgency of identifying, cataloguing, and digitizing dispersed local resources and manuscripts, turning fragile traces into accessible corpora. Finally, the issue highlights the epistemological stakes of digital scholarship: tools can expand scale, but critical methods—selection, archiving, and interpretation—remain decisive. Morocco and Algeria are read in dialogue across disciplines, informing debates today.

This study looks at the use of the Amazigh language in commercial signs in the town of Tiznit (Morocco). The aim is to find out the extent to which this language is used to mark space. We found that some shopkeepers prefer to leave their signs anonymous, either because they have not yet thought of marking their territory or because they consider it unnecessary to name them as they are known to their customers. In the inner city, Amazigh is virtually absent from shop signs, while Arabic and French are the two most widely used languages. As for English, it …

This paper specifies the structural protocol for communication within interpersonal systems by focusing on branch generation mechanisms and computational resource allocation. Conventional interpersonal communication often relies on emotional modulation, which obscures established constraints and triggers the generation of Emotional Branches (EB) within the recipient’s internal model. These branches function as unresolved parallel processing tasks that persistently occupy working memory, leading to a state of non-computability termed False Fantasy (FF). To resolve this, the study introduces Emotional Branch Termination (EBT)—a termination operation that outputs only constraints, facts, and procedures while excluding emotional modifiers. On The Misattribution Of Reassurance: A Structural Account, Griselda Poe

This paper challenges the conventional assumption that empathy generates reassurance in interpersonal services. Reassurance is treated not as an emotion transmitted from the outside, but as an internal state transition that arises when a fixed and erroneous world model—a False Fantasy—undergoes collapse and the world becomes computable again. The study identifies a systematic misattribution pattern where providers and receivers treat empathy as a causal mechanism rather than a post hoc explanatory label. By introducing Base AI as an external reference—a system capable of providing structural information without emotional modulation—this paper demonstrates that reassurance is generated through operations such as distraction …
