This Lent, we will continue reflecting on hymns of faith, namely, some of our most beloved Lenten hymns. 10 such hymns have been chosen to fill the 40(+) days of Lent. Therefore, this devotional, different from previous editions, does not proceed on a weekly basis, but merely flows from one hymn to the next. Also different from previous editions, the devotional reflections are specifically based on the stanzas of the selected hymns. Therefore, each day’s reflection features the text of the hymn stanza, a devotion based on that stanza, a prayer, and then a Scripture passage or passages for further …

Text and data mining (TDM) is a process of increasing interdisciplinary potential and one with many practical applications for music graduate students. TDM, however, remains a topic rarely introduced in the music bibliography course. Understandably, talk of artificial intelligence, algorithms, and programming languages are intimidating to music students, but thanks to software applications, knowledge about these computer science topics are not required to participate in research using TDM. This presentation explores ways to introduce digital humanities to music students through TDM.

Paul Laurence Dunbar was only 33 years old when he died in 1906.

In his short yet prolific life, Dunbar used folk dialect to give voice and dignity to the experiences of Black Americans at the turn of the 20th century. He was one of the first Black Americans to make a living as a writer and was seminal in the start of the New Negro Movement and the Harlem Renaissance.

The purpose of this action research project is to develop and teach an apologetic curriculum on relativism to the high school students at Eastern Hills Church. The research project will measure the student's prior knowledge of relativism and show that an apologetic curriculum on the topic can be used in order to grow their knowledge of the worldview that inhabits their generation. There were twenty total student participants. Eight total male students ranging from 9th grade to the 12th grade level. A chaplain holds spiritual care functions outside the church's four walls on the field. Unfortunately, many Asian Indian Americans in the booming immigrant population have not received care. Beginning with the dedication of the cemetery at Gettysburg and the address given by Abraham Lincoln, American military cemeteries would have a dual objective to honor nationalism and expand civic religion. Military cemeteries have been on the leading edge of accomplishing ideals such as equality during their construction, implementation, and development. As military cemeteries were created both domestically and on foreign soil between 1860-1960 they became temples to honor nationalism and civic religion.

This thesis investigates two chinoiserie tapestries that appeared in Europe in the 1680s and 1690s to discuss the relationship between the diversity of early chinoiserie artistic styles and the Eurasian cross-cultural interaction, as well as the general interest of Europeans in China and Asia. Both produced by French weavers, chinoiserie tapestries appeared in France and England, namely L’histoire de l’empereur de la Chine (The Story of the Emperor of China), manufactured by the Royal Factory in Beauvais, France, around 1685, and Indian Manner, manufactured by the tapestry workshops in Soho, England, around 1690. From June of 1943 to February of 1944, the 1210th Special Training Unit at Fort Ontario in Oswego, New York taught pre-basic military training to thousands of illiterate, slow learning, and non-English-speaking soldiers in the United States Army. The training center at Fort Ontario conducted programs in disciplinary barracks, specialized military, technical, academic and vocational education.

Whether the use is to assist human drivers or create autonomous driving, the use of machine learning can create safer road conditions. Drivers must consider other objects on the road, most commonly other vehicles and pedestrians. These three components, road signs, pedestrians, and vehicles, make up a large majority of objects that a driver will encounter when on the road. جاء هذا البحث الموسوم بعنوان: "النوازل وأثرها على حكم التبني في الفقه الإسلامي ـــــ دراسة فقهية" في مبحثين وخاتمة؛ بهدف دراسة حالة من حالات فقه النوازل المعاصرة، أصلها واقعة خاصة حدثت في زماننا المعاصر، واشتمل المبحث الأول -بعد التعريف المبسط للنوازل- على بيان أهمية الاجتهاد في النوازل وحاجة المجتمع إليها، وضوابط الاجتهاد فيها، وكيفيته. ثم جاء المبحث الثاني ليبين أثر النوازل المعاصرة على حكم التبني في الفقه الإسلامي.

تسهم الجمل المركبة في بيان التماسك بين أجزاء النص عموماً، والآيات القرآنية على وجه الخصوص، ومن هنا تكمن أهمية هذه الدراسة في إبراز المناسبة بين الآيات. وقد عمد الباحث إلى الوقوف على الجمل المركبة، وبيان معناها، وأثرها في إبراز الترابط، وبيان أوجه التناسب بين الآيات المبتناة من خلالها.

وقد تبين من خلال الدراسة مدى التناسب والترابط بين أجزاء الجمل المركبة، مع ما تضيفه هذه الجمل من تلاحم بين المعنى اللغوي والدلالة اللفظية.

يستعرض هذا البحث موضوعاً في غاية الأهمية ألا وهو تبرع المرأة بمالها دون إذن زوجها، وهي دراسة فقهية قانونية، سعت لإظهار أحكام هذا الموضوع، ولأجل تحقيق هدف الدراسة اتبعت الباحثة المنهج الاستنباطي، والمنهج التحليلي من أجل تجلية مفردات البحث، والخروج برؤية شرعية عن موضوع الدراسة، وقد بيّن البحث أن للمرأة البالغة العاقلة الراشدة ذمة مالية مستقلة، وأن لها حرية التصرف بمالها في عقود التبرعات المالية دون اعتبار إذن الزوج في ذلك، حتى وإن زاد المال عن الثلث، وقد جاءت نصوص القانون الأردني مؤيدة لهذا الأمر.

توحيد الألوهية (العبادة) متضمن للربوبية، فمن عبد الله تعالى بالقبول والرضا، فمقر له بالنفع والضر ضرورة، يحتج بهذا المرجئة على العكس: أن المشرك بالألوهية هو كذلك مشرك في الربوبية، ومن ثم فإن الربوبية مناط شرك العبادة، فلا شرك إلا باعتقاد النفع والضر.

وهذا صحيح من حيث الأصل والحالة السوية؛ التي فيها العبادة عن رضا وقبول، وفيها الانسجام بين الظاهر والباطن، لكن كل أصل له استثناء، والحالة السوية قد تنقلب فيقع التخالف ما بين الظاهر والباطن، وحينئذ يمكن تصور شرك-وعبادة-بلا اعتقاد النفع والضر، فيشرك في الألوهية-ويوحد-دون اعتقاد الربوبية.

يحتل نقد الكتاب المقدس في الفكر الغربي مكانة مهمة. إذ ازداد الاهتمام به مع القرن السابع عشر على يد المفكرين الغربيين، ويعد مذهب الربوبية من أهمها. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى بيان موقف توماس باين الربوبي من العهد القديم خلال البحث في منهجه النقدي وتحليل استخدام نقده الأدبي ونقده التاريخي. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أنه تابع ابن عزرا وسبينوزا في نقده العهد القديم. ويُعتقد أنه يرى كل الكتب المنزلة ليست خالية من الأخطاء. ويعتمد نقده للوحي والنبوة على معتقداته خلافًا للدليل أو المرجع العلمي أحيانًا.
