《世説新語·排調》有一則記載王導與周顗的問答，周顗使用了“空洞無物”一語，今人受現代成語的影響，對此語原有的玄學意藴缺少感受和認識，僅簡單將其理解爲空無所有，這是不够準確的。空同或空洞的本意爲渾然一體、混沌未分，早期道家和宇宙論常用來形容大道的窈冥茫昧之狀，以及天地未分時混然一氣之狀，而到魏晋之時，空洞演變成爲一個頗具玄學色彩的詞彙。王弼注《老子》使用空洞一詞，一方面延續了該詞的混沌一氣的意思，一方面也賦予了它空虚無物的意思。“無物”和“容”也是來自老莊和玄學的思想。知道這些詞彙和概念的玄學背景以及魏晋的政治文化，結合周顗、王導等人的品性、行事以及其他故事就可以知道，周顗創造的“空洞無物”一語含有豐富的玄學意藴，正透露出他的玄學和才藻。

In the “Taunting and Teasing” chapter of A New Account of Tales of the World, there is a record about the conversation between Wang Dao 王導 and Zhou Yi 周顗, in which the latter uses the expression — kongdong wuwu 空洞 無物. With the influence of modern Chinese idioms, contemporary readers lack the perception and understanding of kongdong wuwu’s metaphysical connotation and simply interpret it as hollowness, which is inaccurate. 僞孔本《尚書》篇章正文前保留了篇章對應的書序與篇目。唐代成書的《尚書正義》中也包括對這兩種要素的解釋。自南宋注疏合刻已還，歷史上《尚書》經注疏合刻本的編排形態總體保持穩定。但就部分篇章中書序、篇目及其對應疏文的編連方式，不同版本的《尚書注疏》之間存在差異。針對相關的文本現象以及其牽涉《尚書正義》的解釋模式，清代學者以及日本二十世紀上半葉出版的《尚書正義定本》均有所認識，並提出了調整編排的意見。本文將在考察《尚書正義》對書序、篇目相關解釋的基礎上，結合既有的校勘成果，綜合辨析合刻本的編排形態。

In the pseudo-Confucian version of the Book of Documents 尚書, chapter introductions and titles are retained preceding the main text. The Shangshu Zhengyi 尚書正義, compiled during the Tang Dynasty, also encompasses explanations of these two elements. Since the combined compliation of commentaries and sub-commentaries in the Southern Song Dynasty, the overall layout of the combined versions of the Book of Documents has remained consistent. However, variations can be observed among different versions, particularly in the sequencing of chapter introductions, titles, and their corresponding explanatory texts. Identity expressed within African diasporic arts has historically been connected to traditional genres such as portraiture. Over time, contemporary artists have explored identity through genres beyond portraiture and through the use of non-traditional materials. The sculptural practice of Ghanaian Canadian artist Ekow Nimako, a fine arts sculptor based in Toronto, Canada, employs the unconventional material of LEGO® to offer a multi-generational perspective into deep diasporic memory. Examining Nimako’s sculptures through the perspective of colonialism and de-colonialism, materiality, and Afrofuturism, this thesis investigates the artist’s exploration of Black historical pasts to shape identities and construct narratives of Black futures. This project uses qualitative research to create an original 78-card tarot deck. Its focus is to create a tarot deck informed by the rich history and symbolism of tarot while utilizing original art and unique experiences to create a one-of-a-kind deck. The deck’s artwork showcases flora, fauna, and manufactured objects of the Southeastern United States, referencing traditional tarot archetypes to select each card’s imagery. This project is a public sculpture prototype focused on the need for post-war art restitution in the Republic of Croatia: it will have an impact by enhancing public knowledge of the KOMZA list, which offers legal proof for families to retrieve heirlooms taken during WWII and the wars of secession from Yugoslavia.

This paper discusses the ways in which the theme of “coming-of-age” is explored in South Pacific, The Sound of Music, and Kimberly Akimbo. I use the term “coming-of-age” because that is the colloquial phrase for stories about maturation, however this term can include any transition from an innocent mindset to an enlightened one. This change often results from encountering harsh realities of the real world and learning to accept them. This thesis examines Jonathan Edwards' (1703-1758) notion of the experience of the creation. It argues that for Edwards, the human experience of the good creation, in its essence, is experiencing God Himself, especially its beauty that resembles God's. The experience is comprehensive, involving human intellect, volition, and body, and will continue in some manner to the new creation. Meanwhile, Edwards' occasionalism raises potential theological and philosophical issues regarding the integrity of creation, the persistence of human identity, and the continuation of this world to the next.

Goostly Coumforte In God: The Rhetoric Of Mysticism In The Cloud Of Unknowing, Clinton M. Sensat

In this paper I analyze the rhetoric of the Cloud of Unknowing by an anonymous fourteenth-century English Catholic mystic. First, I situate the Cloud in its tradition, both spiritual and rhetorical. Then, after analyzing the linguistic arts employed, I engage in a sustained examination of the Cloud’s rhetorical technique. Ultimately, I conclude that the author of the Cloud succeeds in his rhetorical goals, even if some of his strategies are less successful than he perhaps believes, and that he does so through the use of concrete language and an appeal to the ethos of Christian monastic friendship.
