This paper examines features of the influence of the French writer Albert

Camus on the works of Kuwaiti writer Ismail Fahad Ismail, represented by "the

Quatrain of the illuminating marshes" using the french method in comparison.

This influence is manifested especially in depicting personalities, and in the

intellectual vision, and in certain conditions, theme and styles. And Ismail Fahad

Ismail has interacted in his youth with aesthetic and intellectual ideas of Camus

when he was searching for an identity of ideological belonging and was

suffering from psychological frustration as a result of other people's suspicion on

his patriotic belonging.

The relationship between Islam and the West was first troubled by biblical texts

pejorative of the Arabs, and the rise of Islam in the seventh century aggravated this

negative view of Arabs and Muslims. Although the brilliant Muslim civilization in Spain

mitigated this negative image, Western fears of Europe’s Latin Christianity being caught

by the pincer of Muslim Spain in the West and Levantine Islam from the East gave rise

to the Crusades that sought to drive a wedge between the two flanks of Islam by seizing

significant component of this study. One of its most important features is that

grammarians have expatiated in prescribing the rules of grammatical

Assimilation is a process by which sounds are influenced by their

neighbours, or replaced by other sounds in the Language. Sometimes you find

two neighbouring sounds reacting, as it were upon one another and are replaced

by a third sound different from both the original sounds.

In this article I described assimilation between the old Arab grammarian and

the modern. Each has his own theory. Included in this article are kinds of

assimilation, whether direct or indirect, progressive or regressive. The symptom

of Assimilation in old Arabic Dialects are then dealt with.

Student Works

Edgar Allan Poe wrote many stories that featured different types of unreliable narrators. These narrators were essential to Poe’s goal of teaching his audience to take more active roles in the stories. Insanity, ulterior motives, and lack of knowledge all contribute to making a narrator unreliable. “The Murders in the Rue Morgue,” “The Tell Tale Heart,” and “The Cask of Amontillado” are all short stories in which Poe implemented a different unreliable narrator to show readers how to pay more attention to a story. With little guidance from Poe or the narrator, readers must put together what is true and …

The University of Denver’s Libraries’ Special Collections, which include the Beck Archives of Rocky Mountain Jewish History, have made a concerted effort to encourage faculty to incorporate the use of primary sources into their undergraduate curricula. Teaching teams, consisting of special collections curators, reference and instruction librarians, and faculty members, used both digital and physical primary resources to engage students. These efforts led to the DU project’s being named the recipient of the 2018 Primary Source Award for Teaching from the Center of Research Libraries.
