This study investigated the degree to which the upper basic stage social studies school teachers employ local history in their teaching in the schools of Irbid Governorate, Jordan. For the purpose of the study, the researchers developed a questionnaire that included 45 times which was categorized in four domains (i.e., selecting local history topics, introducing the teaching using local history, using local environment in historical field study, and using local history in classroom). A total of 183 teachers and 15 educational supervisors participated in the study.

To answer the questions of the study, a 41-item questionnaire was used to measure the perceptions of 83 students who studied the course Oral Communication at An-Najah University in the first semester of the academic year 2011/2012. This study investigated practice education student teachers’ beliefs about portfolio and its relationship to some variables in the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Arts/UNRWA (FESA/UNRWA). A survey questionnaire of (70) items was developed. The items were distributed on three domains: attitudes, contents and Portfolio use challenges. The questionnaire was administered on (145) male and female students. The results of attitudes towards portfolios and portfolio contents domains were high while the domain of portfolio use challenges had a medium agreement degree. No statistically significant differences attributed to gender, General Secondary Stream or cumulative university average or their levels were found.

The current study aimed at investigating the effect of using journal writing on ninth graders’ achievement, anxiety, and attitudes toward mathematics. The study sample consisted of 70 ninth grade students, from two sections, assigned randomly to the experimental group which was taught by using journal writing, and a control group taught using traditional teaching methods. Results of the study revealed that journal writing had a significant effect on improving students’ academic achievement in mathematics, whereas, it had no obvious effect on reducing students’ math anxiety or improving their attitudes toward mathematics

The current study attempts to analyze the scale of analytical thinking in problem-solving among Hebron University students and its relationship with some variables. The study sample consisted of (307) students, males and females, divided into six colleges, selected as a stratified random sample. For the collection of data, the author used Barson and Harrison Thinking Scale, and Min Basadur”s Simplex problem-solving model”. Results showed that there was a medium level among Hebron University students in the analytical thinking and problem-solving levels; also, there was no correlation between the analytical thinking and problem-solving for these university students.
