The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program and the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program together provide $7.5 billion to support states with building out a nationwide EV charging network. Indiana’s Charging the Crossroads program, funded through the NEVI program, plans to invest almost $100 million to build an EV charging network along Indiana interstates and highways. There is broad consensus among states, that these fast charging station investments should be based upon quantitative geospatial data with the objective of maximizing the impact of the NEVI program investments.

This report presents a portable driving simulation platform developed to improve public understanding and evaluation of innovative intersection designs. Built in Unity, the system integrates real-world roadway data with modular traffic and vehicle simulation to create realistic, interactive driving scenarios. Results show the platform effectively supports driver learning and stakeholder engagement, demonstrating its feasibility as a tool for education, safety analysis, and deployment support of innovative intersections.

The Teresa Murphy Papers consists of a scrapbook, Winthrop yearbook (The Tatler), and family photographs belonging to 1929 Winthrop graduate, Teresa Harlem Murphy (b. 1908. The scrapbook details her life and experience while a student at Winthrop from 1925 to 1929. The Tatler contains many notes from classmates including their married names. Also of interest is a Victorian era calendar listing the birth and death dates of members of the Virgeson Family which includes the family of Joseph Cahoon Virgeson (1875-1941) and Katherine Elizabeth Whitley Virgeson (1879-1958).

Biology

The polychaete Capitella teleta is a primary model for evolutionary developmental biology, comparative genomics, conservation, and ecotoxicology. Although it was the first polychaete genome sequenced, the original assembly is outdated by modern standards. Here, we combine long-read and short-read sequencing with Hi-C chromatin conformation capture to assemble chromosome-level nuclear and mitochondrial genomes of the laboratory strain of C. teleta. This reference assembly accurately reflects the expected genome size (∼243.6 Mb) and contains a highly complete, evolutionarily conserved gene repertoire. Notably, the nuclear and mitochondrial genomes are heavily rearranged, indicating a decoupling between gene family repertoire and chromosomal evolution. The analyses …

What we hope to do is pose questions that, to our knowledge, have not received attention in the literature. The broad form of the question is all too familiar: how do speakers of a language—say, English—come to possess the grammatical knowledge that they demonstrate? The questions that guide this paper are narrow instances of this broad one, narrowed in three ways. First, they concern three particular languages: Japanese, English, and Russian. Second, they concern tenses specifically, and more specifically still, constructions containing embedded tenses. Third, they concern the semantics of tense. Roughly 67% of students with disabilities spend 80% or more of their day in a general education setting (National Center for Education Statistics, 2024). This can be challenging for general education teachers as they do not receive the same level of training on disabilities as special educators, leading to struggles with students with behavioral difficulties and Emotional Impairment. This study surveyed Michigan general educators’ to assess their understanding of Emotional Impairment eligibility as written in the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE). Background: Pregnancy increases a woman’s risk of experiencing intimate partner violence (IPV). Although healthcare visits typically increase during pregnancy, IPV screening is often overlooked, and many women remain unaware of available domestic violence resources. 
Local problem: Globally, women are impacted by IPV, with those living in rural areas facing a higher risk. 
Methods: The Abuse Assessment Screen (AAS) was implemented in a rural women’s health facility to screen patients for IPV. Prior to implementation, healthcare professionals within the facility received education regarding the screening protocol and available resources for patients.
