From the fourteenth to the eighteenth centuries, European anatomical illustration underwent major transformations in response to changing scientific methods, technologies, and visual conventions, reflecting critical transitions in anatomical history. Scientific evolution allowed these images to achieve increasing structural precision and internal detail, though they frequently diverged from anatomical forms as they are understood today. This study examines how anatomical inaccuracies across five centuries emerged not from ignorance, but from deliberate mediation between purpose, observation, pedagogy, artistic convention, and cultural ideology. To understand cardiac sympathetic innervation and remodeling, it is important to elucidate the topographical distribution and morphology of sympathetic axons in the whole left ventricle. However, immunohistochemistry (IHC) on whole heart tissues presents challenges due to their thickness, as conventional methods label only small sections. This study investigates perceptions of illicit drug use and perceived drug misuse risks among individuals with military experience in the United States, highlighting how military service shapes attitudes toward substance misuse. Using data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), this research examines the influence of military status, combat exposure, PTSD, gender, and sociodemographic factors on perceptions of drug-related risk. Findings indicate that while most individuals perceive illicit drug use as highly risky, important differences exist among subpopulations, particularly female veterans, who are more likely to perceive lower levels of risk. Anterior knee pain affects approximately 25% of adults and is associated with altered joint mechanics. Patellofemoral joint (PFJ) models vary widely in complexity, with no established gold standard. Musculoskeletal models efficiently estimate joint loading but do not capture tissue-level mechanics, whereas finite element (FE) models provide tissue-level predictions at greater computational cost. This thesis developed a workflow to evaluate relationships between musculoskeletal model-predicted PFJ loads and FE-predicted cartilage mechanics, examined the impact of altered quadriceps activation, and introduced improved computational models.

Digital lending of eBooks offers flexibility to patrons, but it also exacerbates the existential threats libraries face. Libraries cannot own eBooks—they can only license and lend them on publishers’ terms—which means libraries are paying more for less. This is known as the “digital lending problem.” Access to older books is even more limited, as publishers and copyright holders rarely offer them as eBooks, creating the “20th century book problem.” These problems are chilling libraries’ creative approaches to digital lending and are further exacerbated by the Trump Administration’s attacks on libraries and the continuing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Trends In Pharmaceutical Patent Settlements Since Actavis And Private Plaintiffs' Causation Requirement, Kelly Lear Nordby

In January 2025, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) reported that a new form of “possible compensation” from brand drug manufacturers to generic (or biosimilar) manufacturers, specifically “quantity restrictions,” have become “increasingly prevalent” in pharmaceutical patent settlement agreements filed with FTC under the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003. As the FTC noted, “quantity restrictions” may reduce the settling firm’s incentives to compete, resulting in supracompetitive prices for the brand and generic drug. This article summarizes trends in pharmaceutical patent settlement agreements and reverse-payment antitrust litigation since the Supreme Court’s landmark decision in FTC v. Actavis. Focusing …

This comparative study examines STEM activities from preschool to grade 4 in the United States and Türkiye using the Engineering Design Process (EDP) framework. Five activities from each country were selected based on national standards (NGSS in the U.S.; Ministry of National Education STEM Standards in Türkiye). Using qualitative content analysis, we examined how each activity reflects the stages of the EDP. The findings highlight ways to strengthen STEM education through design-based learning and offer teachers practical insights for integrating engineering design into early education.

In this project, we developed a theme of Green Energy Innovation (GEI) for K-8 integrated STEM (iSTEM) out-of-school learning that includes scientific concepts, engineering design, mathematical measurement, and data collection. Anchored in engineering design (English, 2016), the researchers designed a curricular unit that included simple and complex solar car models. The researcher-designed solar car prototypes serve as STEM kits that support students’ iSTEM-based engineering design activities.

This study examined how students’ sense of identity and ownership in STEM relates to their interest in pursuing STEM careers. Using data from 319 middle and high school students, we tested whether students who felt a stronger personal connection to STEM concepts showed higher levels of career interest. Multilevel modeling was employed to account for students nested within classrooms. Sense of identity and ownership of STEM in their place consistently predicted STEM career interest, while gender, class subject, and school location showed no meaningful effects in the final full model. Americans today face unprecedented opportunities to leverage their personal data for health, education, and economic benefit; yet state and federal privacy laws increasingly restrict their ability to do so. This Article argues that the prevailing regulatory paradigm—rooted in paternalism, behavioral assumptions, and a deep distrust of both firms and individuals— has produced a system that paradoxically denies people meaningful control over their own information. This Article argues that AI-driven microtargeting, enabled by large-scale data brokerage and increasingly acquired by government actors, creates a dual constitutional problem. First, it undermines Fourth Amendment protections through what has become known as the ‘data broker loophole.’ Second, it amplifies inequality and civic distortion by segmenting political information flows in ways that evade traditional constitutional checks and statutory privacy regimes. Problem

The Waukesha Community Seventh-day Adventist Church faced a plateau in Bible study engagement. Newly baptized members were disengaging from continuing Bible study and not reproducing disciples, resulting in a spiritual growth process that was minimal and heavily dependent on the pastor.

Method

The DMin student chose action research as a method for developing, implementing, and evaluating an intergenerational Bible study strategy to revitalize discipleship. The three-phase intervention included: (1) a sermon series featuring intergenerational activities to recruit participants; (2) a workshop to equip lay members as Bible study teachers; and (3) an eight-week program with two tracks: a one-on-one …
