Background/purpose Tooth bleaching was a conservative treatment compared with veneer and crown restorations that causes damage of teeth structure. This study evaluated the effectiveness of different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide combined with plasma arc activation for tooth whitening, focusing on tooth shade, microhardness, and surface roughness. Materials and methods The extracted teeth were standardized to ensure consistent surface conditions. They were bleached using various concentrations of 20 %–35 % hydrogen peroxide, with or without plasma arc activation. Background/purpose The combined effects of Porphromonas gingivalis with other pathogens and host inflammatory on treatment prognosis remain underexplored. This study investigated associations between P. gingivalis bacterial co-infection, salivary IL-8 levels, and prognosis following non-surgical periodontal therapy (NSPT). Materials and methods Seventy-four participants underwent NSPT were recruited. Subgingival specimens were collected before treatment and analyzed by 16S rRNA sequencing. Salivary IL-8 levels and periodontal clinical parameters were recorded at baseline and one month after scaling and root-planing (SRP). Background/purpose Particulate matter (PM) exposure is associated with inflammation and extracellular matrix degradation in periodontal tissues. Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), and matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) are key mediators in these processes. Nattokinase, a fibrinolytic enzyme derived from Bacillus subtilis fermentation, has recently gained attention for its potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Background/purpose Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is an aggressive malignancy distinguished by marked invasiveness, a high metastatic propensity, and poor prognosis. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) within the tumour microenvironment secrete numerous mediators that accelerate tumour progression; however, the precise contribution of CAF-derived interleukin-32 (IL-32) remains unclear. This study examined the influence of CAF-derived IL-32 on invasion, epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT), and cancer-stem-cell (CSC) traits in HNSCC. Background/purpose Alveolar bone defects are difficult to treat due to ongoing resorption and limitations of conventional grafts. However, while advances in voice technology has made it feasible to use voice recognition to reduce these manpower demands in English-speaking countries, these artificial intelligent (AI) voice recognition tools have lacked localized features to make them feasible in our context of Taiwan. Background/purpose This ex vivo study aimed to evaluate the perforation of Schneiderian membrane upon the advancement of drills incrementally in 1 mm passing through the sinus during the implant site osteotomy with two different drill types and techniques. Materials and methods Fifty goat heads with 50 pairs of sinuses were assigned to two groups: osseodensification drill (OD) and inverse conical shape drill (ICSD) to simulate transcrestal sinus elevation. While Taiwan has achieved near-universal coverage for most medical services, domiciliary dental care (DDC) for people with mobility limitations remains poorly integrated into the UHC framework. This study assessed DDC coverage in Taiwan using the World Health Organization UHC framework. General zygomatic implants (GZIs) are a valuable alternative for patients with severely atrophic maxillae or post-oncologic defects. Autotransplantation (AT) is a promising alternative for restoring failed teeth. However, the success rate varies due to technique sensitivity and absence of standardized protocol. We present the first documented AT protocol utilizing a dynamic navigation system, including three core innovations: (1) navigation-guided socket preparation, (2) extra-alveolar retrograde filling, and (3) digital lingual stent fixation with flowable resin. Background/purpose Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) frequently affects pediatric patients and common occurs in the head and neck region. The purpose of this study was to compare the scientometric characteristics of RMS publications by pediatricians and stomatologists. Materials and methods All the papers on RMS were comprehensively retrieved from the Scopus database, and divided into pediatricians and stomatologists groups. Results There were 2211 and 234 papers on RMS were published by rheumatologists and stomatologists, respectively. Background/purpose Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is the most common malignant tumor of the salivary glands. The purpose of this study was to analyze the scientometric characteristics and research trends of salivary MEC. Materials and methods All the papers on salivary MEC were comprehensively retrieved from the Scopus database. The years of publication were divided into before 2014 and Jan 2014–Jun 2025 in the analysis of research trends.
