Faith, Formation, And Formalization: Entrepreneurship Development Among Women In Ghana, Patricia Adams-Williams

The problem addressed in this study is the absence of a unified, faith-centered framework that equips single mothers in Ghana to build sustainable livelihoods while strengthening their spiritual identity. Although Ghanaian women demonstrate remarkable resilience and entrepreneurial drive, many remain confined to informal markets without access to business training, mentorship, or systems that connect their work to their calling. This dissertation argues that integrating spiritual formation with entrepreneurship training creates a pathway for lasting transformation. This doctoral project emerges from my vocational context as a consultant and pastor working with senior pastors and executive leadership teams within evangelical contexts. Across these settings, I encountered patterns of abuse and unethical and immoral behavior that were not rooted in isolated mistakes but embedded within organizational cultures that normalized pastoral isolation, protected institutional image, and lacked effective structures for accountability. Since its earliest emergence, universities across the nation have been struggling to create a universal policy surrounding the use of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT. This poster will examine the limitations of a universal, one-size-fits-all AI policy in academic contexts, particularly across disciplines where different pedagogical goals, assessment practices, and ethical concerns exist. Drawing on student reactions to existing AI policies and a critical review of PSU’s current AI guidelines, this project highlights how vague or inconsistent language leads to inconsistent interpretation, uneven enforcement, and most important student confusion on the use of AI in their academic studies. Correct My Captions: An Ai-Human Collaboration Workflow, Derrel Fincher

As the April 24, 2026 ADA Title II deadline approaches, higher-education instructors are facing the task of improving captions on existing course videos. This poster presents a practical workflow to improve Canvas Studio captions in which AI performs most of the cross-checking between two independent transcripts: the original Studio captions and an AI-generated transcript from the extracted audio. The AI compares the transcripts and uses differences as a quality-check signal: segments with strong agreement remain unchanged, while mismatches, “inaudible/uncertain” markers, and glossary terms (names, acronyms, technical vocabulary) are automatically flagged for targeted human review. This poster presentation explores how artificial intelligence is integrated into the Graphic Communications Web Design curriculum to enhance student learning, creativity, and technical proficiency. Students first design fully developed user interface prototypes in Figma, focusing on user experience principles, layout systems, accessibility, and visual hierarchy. Once designs are refined, AI tools are introduced as collaborative assistants to help translate static mockups into responsive Bootstrap-based code.

In this research, Logic Tensor Networks (LTNs) are used to predict the visibility of the aurora. LTNs implement first-order logic using neural networks. LTNs were used in the classification of conditions for which the aurora could be visible. However, due to the large amount of training data, the LTNs experienced convergence issues during training. To resolve these issues, a batch size hyperparameter was implemented for which only a subset of the training vectors was used each epoch. This allowed the training of the LTNs to successfully converge.

Shorelines and beaches are shifting and eroding as climate change causes ocean levels to rise and the Great Lakes to alternate between more erratic high and low water levels. Two common responses to shifting shorelines and erosion are hard shoreline armoring and beach nourishment. However, these responses raise concerns regarding access to public trust resources. Shoreline armoring can restrict public access to the oceans and Great Lakes, as well as diminish their sandy beaches. Government-funded beach nourishment projects may also take place near private homes, resulting in questions as to who is benefiting from these publicly funded projects.

Students are rapidly adopting generative AI tools to perform a myriad of academic and personal tasks, often without much critical thought or ethical deliberation. Without clear guiding principles or predetermined standards of practice, some students are bypassing the cognitive work learning requires and robbing themselves of meaningful intellectual development. To break the cycle of mindless AI use, I developed a project in which students craft their own personal AI policy statements that detail the ethical and professional considerations that guide their decision making. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) released endorsement guidelines of sponsored content in 2023, including stipulations of clear and conspicuous disclosure, to combat content disguised as original, while actually having commercial intent. This paper examines compliance with these guidelines among travel influencers on Instagram. Overwhelmingly, influencers are not properly disclosing potential commercial sponsorship in their posts, and even good faith attempts to disclose are more often than not non-compliant with the FTC’s guidelines. Implications of these findings are discussed.

Background: Opioid-involved overdose fatalities among African Americans continue to rise. The current study examines African Americans who reported use of opioids in the past 6 months and declined overdose education and free naloxone.   Method: Eligible participants included African American Kentuckians who used opioids in the past 6 months and consented to a larger study examining their opioid use. This paper qualitatively explored their reasons for declining overdose education and naloxone using an adjusted and inductive application of structural tabular thematic analysis.   Results: Out of 588 participants, 70 (12%) declined naloxone: the most cited reason for declining naloxone was already possessing …

Objectives/Hypothesis: To determine the effect of clinical expertise on efficacy of Vocal Function Exercises (VFEs) as measured by change in percent of maximum phonation time goal attained. The hypothesis was that clinical expertise would result in greater increases in percent of maximum phonation time goal attained.

Study Design: Randomized controlled trial.

Methods: A convenience sample of 19 individuals with typical voice was recruited in a university academic clinic setting. All participants completed baseline assessment and 17 completed all study procedures. The high energy penalty associated with solvent regeneration is still a major bottleneck in amine-based CO₂ capture. In this work, the effects of five solid acid catalysts on the desorption performance of a mixed-amine solvent were compared, and the HY catalyst with superior desorption behavior was selected and further modified with four transition metals (Co, Mn, Gr and Ce) to enhance its catalytic activity. The findings indicate that the CO₂ desorption capacity and maximum desorption rate of the Co-modified HY catalyst reach 48.96 mmol and 0.02211 mmol/s, corresponding to increases of 36.80% and 35.39% relative to the blank …
