Egypt’s higher education sector expanded rapidly over the last decade, resulting in increased energy consumption, negative environmental impacts, and economic challenges. Existing academic buildings present promising opportunities for energy savings through retrofitting; however, a validated pathway for achieving Zero-Energy Buildings ZEBs in Egypt remains underdeveloped. In hot climates, demand for effective sustainable cooling strategies to maintain comfort is high. Nevertheless, conventional radiant cooling systems are often hindered by condensation risks and complex control requirements in partially occupied spaces. ABSTRACT

Content creators face significant challenges in maintaining audience engagement and social relevance amidst dynamic platform algorithms. This study analyzes YouTuber Asian Survivor's personal branding strategy in building authenticity, engagement, and audience donation motivation using a mixed-methods approach. Quantitative analysis employed t-tests and binary logistic regression on 101 videos, while qualitative analysis was conducted through in-depth interviews and observation. Results indicate that neither vulnerable nor inspiring narrative types significantly differentiate engagement levels; however, videos that successfully raised donations exhibited significantly higher engagement rates. Regression analysis proved that an increase in engagement rate raises donation probability by 2.5 times. Qualitative findings …

ABSTRACT There remains a substantial need for awareness about mental health and effective counselling within Muslim immigrant communities. Previous research has found higher levels of stress, depression, and anxiety amongst Muslim immigrants; however, limited research has focused on the manner in which acculturative stress and religiosity influence psychological well-being, particularly when also considering generational differences. Therefore, using a sample composed of 369 first and second-generation South Asian Muslim immigrants, the following study examined the effects of acculturative stress on depression and life satisfaction, as well the moderating influence of religiosity and generational differences. This paper provides an in-depth description of the RVfpga course, which offers a solid introduction to computer architecture using the RISC-V instruction set and FPGA technology. Objective: The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of psychological resilience for well-being. While several reviews have addressed resilience in specific populations or contexts, few have synthesized global literature across diverse populations. This review examines psychological resilience across diverse populations, focusing on measurement, associated factors, and future public health preparedness strategies. Method: Guided by the PRISMA, a thorough search of PsycINFO, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Web of Science was conducted in February 2024, including quantitative studies considering psychological resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic published in peer-reviewed English journals from 2020 to 2024, using search terms relevant to psychological resilience and COVID-19. …

The development of photoelectrochemical (PEC) devices involves the attachment of molecular photosensitizers onto solid supports. Particularly significant to this work are PECs that rely on ruthenium-based photosensitizers on high band gap metal oxide (MOx) supports. In this study, we have explored a new ester binding motif (MOx-ester) to covalently attach a ruthenium polypyridyl photosensitizer to TiO₂. This new MOx-ester photoanode is compared to the traditional photoanodes that utilize acid/base binding groups to attach the molecular Ru sensitizers to TiO₂. Opioids In Cardiac Surgery: Rethinking The Status Quo, Sasha Ballard

Background: Cardiac anesthesia has traditionally relied on large opioid doses to maintain hemodynamic stability and suppress sympathetic stimulation. Emerging evidence supports opioid-sparing strategies using dexmedetomidine, ketamine, lidocaine, and magnesium, which are associated with reduced postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), faster extubation, shorter intensive care unit (ICU) stays, and decreased inotrope requirements. In the context of the opioid crisis, anesthesia providers are encouraged to reassess opioid-heavy techniques and adopt Enhanced Recovery After Cardiac Surgery (ERACS) protocols emphasizing multimodal care. Aggregation of the protein tau defines tauopathies, the most common age-related neurodegenerative diseases, which include Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia. Specific neuronal subtypes are selectively vulnerable to tau aggregation, dysfunction, and death. However, molecular mechanisms underlying cell-type-selective vulnerability are unknown. To systematically uncover the cellular factors controlling the accumulation of tau aggregates in human neurons, we conducted a genome-wide CRISPRi screen in induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neurons. The screen uncovered both known and unexpected pathways, including UFMylation and GPI anchor biosynthesis, which control tau oligomer levels.
