Stressors And Challenges Faced By Mexican American Caregivers Of Family Members With Alzheimer’S Disease, Romeo Escobar, Denise Longoria, John M. Gonzalez, Nelda Rodriguez

Mexican American caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease face unique stressors and challenges, which may be influenced by cultural, socioeconomic, and systemic factors. This population often assumes caregiving responsibilities based on strong cultural values of familismo which emphasizes family duty and collective care. However, this commitment can lead to increased emotional strain, mental health concerns, financial and physical strain, particularly when caregivers have limited access to healthcare resources, financial support, or respite. Language barriers and a lack of culturally competent healthcare services can further exacerbate stress, making it difficult to navigate the complex healthcare system. The purpose of this study …

The goal of this Social Change Portfolio is to design a collaborative, community-level primary prevention program for adolescents in the Little Elm, Denton County, Texas area to mitigate the mental health and cognitive risks associated with THC use while strengthening protective factors across the entire community (County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, 2018; Smith, 2024; Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 2025).

Widely regarded as a landmark in bankruptcy scholarship, Professor David Skeel’s Debt’s Dominion charts the evolution of American corporate bankruptcy law and the forces that have governed it.1 In this seminal work, Skeel traces federal bankruptcy laws from their roots in the U.S. Constitution through their development over the twentieth century, detailing the political dynamics that shaped their scope and administration. Photocrosslinkable Morin-Loaded Gelatin-G-Gma Composite Hydrogel For Accelerating Burn Wound Healing: In Vitro And In Vivo Assessments, Samar A. Salim

The impaired skin regeneration, scarring, and delayed healing make the management of burn injuries a challenging task. We designed a photopolymerized hydrogel of gelatin-grafted with glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) for burn management applications. Hydrogel was incorporated with Morin, a plant flavonoid that was originally isolated from the Moraceae family, with known anti-antioxidant and antifibrotic activities. The physicochemical characterization of the resultant hydrogel, including its gelation time and swelling properties, was conducted. The characterization results indicated that the hydrogel development was successful, exhibiting well-established porosity, as evidenced by the SEM images. Background: Trastuzumab, combined with chemotherapy, is the current standard treatment for both metastatic and early-stage HER2-positive (HER2 +) breast cancer. One of the mechanisms of action of trastuzumab is antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), which involves engaging FcγRIIIA (CD16) on natural killer (NK) cells. A competent immune system and properly functioning NK cells are crucial for effective ADCC, as they can influence favorable clinical outcomes. Resistance to trastuzumab often develops after about one year. Introduction Solid pseudopapillary epithelial neoplasm (SPEN) is a rare pancreatic tumor that typically presents in adult women and is usually asymptomatic. Case presentation A 12-year-old male presented to the emergency department with worsening abdominal pain one day after suffering mild abdominal trauma during a soccer match. Physical exam showed diffuse abdominal tenderness and guarding. CT abdomen with IV contrast showed a heterogeneous, round structure adjacent to the pancreatic tail with mass effect upon the spleen. MRI abdomen revealed a “claw sign” of pancreatic tissue surrounding the structure, suggesting a an underlying pancreatic mass with capsular rupture measuring 8.3 x 8.1 …

Background: Timely reperfusion is critical in reducing mortality in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Although electrocardiography-guided cardiac catheterization laboratory (CCL) activation on the basis of first medical contact recognition improves system-level response, diagnostic uncertainty, particularly in atypical presentations, contributes to false positive activations (FPAs) and reperfusion delays.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic performance and operational impact of artificial intelligence (AI)-based electrocardiographic (ECG) analysis in real-world STEMI triage across a multicenter U.S. registry.

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) profession faces numerous challenges in maintaining sufficient capacity to provide frontline medical care amid increasing demand for its services from government officials and the public. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study is to explore the experiences of EMS professionals on how the lack of executive leadership education impacts their careers and the viability of their organizations. Majorities of Vermont residents support extending temporary Obamacare subsidies, expanding Obamacare overall, loosening restrictions on Medicaid eligibility, and establishing a national "single-payer" health care system. Vermonters strongly disapprove of President Trump and Congress's handling of health care. Nearly half of state residents say that paying for overall medical expenses is difficult and two-thirds say that their costs have increased in the past twelve months.

Citrus canker, caused by bacterium Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xcc), affects the citrus industry by making the fruit unmarketable due to unsightly lesions on the fruit. Citrus canker caused by a relatively new AWstrain of Xcc was reported on the citrus trees in the residential areas of the Lower Rio Grande Valley (LRGV) of South Texas. Xcc AW has a limited host range, predominantly affecting limes and a few other citrus species. Designing efficient mechanisms for moving mechanical assemblies requires the use of materials with well-defined mechanical responses. Appropriate methods are needed to characterize these mechanical responses. Mechanical characterization of soft materials is critical in the high strain rate regime where intuition from manipulating a material at low rates fails to translate to applications including impact protection, tire traction, and sound damping. Here, transient grating spectroscopy (TGS) is used to measure wave propagation for soft elastomers and hydrogels. TGS is a non-destructive and non-contact optoacoustic technique that enables high strain rate measurements of the bulk modulus, a measure of a material's resistance …

In Fiji, physicality and hegemonic masculinity are largely defined by rugby and the military, institutions dominated by Indigenous Fijian men, who are predominantly Christian, often marginalising other races, genders, religions, and sports. While research in the Global South has examined intersections of race and gender, little is known about how masculinity is understood across different sports, sporting icons, and contexts—particularly from the perspective of South Asian migrant women in Oceania with hybrid identities. This paper investigates how young Indo-Fijian women negotiate masculinity, identity, and agency through sport, Bollywood cinema, social media, and cultural narratives. Over the past half-century, rapid technological change and globalization have reshaped innovation and intellectual property, yet the foundational international agreements anchoring the global patent system have remained essentially unchanged. The drafters of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property and the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) viewed these agreements as dynamic instruments that, through procedural coordination, would rationalize international patent administration. The Paris Convention has resisted reform for decades, however, while the PCT has failed to achieve its goals of reducing examination workloads and fostering worksharing among national patent offices.
