Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) plays a fundamental role in monitoring time-dependent ground displacement. However, GNSS daily position time-series can often contain significant outliers, reaching up to several centimetres. These are likely of non-tectonic origin, and, if not properly accounted for, they can significantly impact the accuracy and dependability of the estimation of key parameters for geophysical analyses, such as long-term velocities and transient deformations. Characterizing these outliers can provide information about their possible sources and help us implement mitigation strategies. Global efforts to control heartworm disease are challenged by increasing drug resistance and inadequate early detection methods, which hinder the effective diagnosis and treatment of Dirofilaria immitis infection. This study presents an in vivo model for investigating D. immitis development and host-parasite interactions. The growth and migration of the D. immitis JYD-34 isolate were analyzed in immunodeficient NSG mice over 177 days, revealing parasite migration to the heart and lungs, which mirrors infection dynamics in the natural canine host. Pathophysiological examination of host tissues revealed early adult-stage worms elicited minimal inflammation. However, with chronicity, mild pulmonary hemosiderin accumulation was observed. …

In this symposium Essay, I explore the hypothesis that as constitutional politics have become more assertive, historical methods of interpretation have become more prominent. In other words, the claim I would like to test is that the intensification of constitutional politics and the prominence of historical argument are correlated. Moreover, the relationship between the two appears to be linear. As arguments become bolder, they are more likely to deploy history as a method of interpretation. That proposition may seem counterintuitive, and it is intriguing.

Lawyers sometimes ask about the place of history in legal or constitutional interpretation. Historians typically ask a different question. The historians’ inquiry is more often about the place of a phenomenon, like interpretation in history, not vice versa. Constitutional interpretation is itself a historical practice, with particular, changing, and contingent political structures. It is driven by relatively autonomous forces such as war, natural disaster, social mobilizations, migrations and exclusions, economic transformations, and more, all of which shape and condition lawyers’ interpretive projects. Male participation in contraceptive use in Indonesia remains very low, while women continue to bear a disproportionate reproductive burden, including mental health impacts from contraceptive side effects. This study aims to examine the effect of husbands’ contraceptive use on wives’ mental health. The analysis utilizes data from the fifth wave of the Indonesia Family Life Survey conducted in 2014. Wives’ mental health is measured using the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale - 10. The results of the binary logistic regression model indicate that husbands’ contraceptive use lowers the likelihood of wives experiencing depression. Additionally, being aged 25-49, having good …

A landlord commenced a GCEL holdover proceeding, alleging the tenant refused to renew the lease with reasonable changes, including rent increases. The court dismissed the petition based on the tenant's pre-answer motion, finding the landlord lacked capacity to sue due to its failure to comply with LLC Law § 206 publication requirements. Although the landlord claimed to be curing the defect, it had not fully done so and made a material error by trying to comply through the Attorney General's Office instead of the Department of State. The proceeding was dismissed without prejudice.

Study Objectives Chronic sleep loss is widespread and can cause deficits in vigilant attention. There are few practical biomarkers that can be used to assess the impact of chronic sleep loss on alertness and performance. Those that are available, such as tests of vigilant attention, cannot discriminate chronic sleep loss from other impairments, like alcohol intoxication, limiting the use of such tools. PURPOSE: Our study is motivated by evaluating the role of hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) after chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy for ALL, a debated topic. Because patients may receive HCT at different times after CAR-T infusion or never, HCT post-CAR-T should be considered as a time-varying covariate (TVC).

METHODS: Standard Cox models and Kaplan-Meier (KM) curves (naïve method) assume that TVC status is known and fixed at baseline, which can yield biased estimates. This dataset accompanies the article Spatial patterns of habitat use of wintering tidal marsh birds along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and includes kernel density estimate (KDE) raster layers describing spatial patterns of bird abundance and community richness derived from winter bird surveys. The study examined landscape features associated with the occurrence and spatial distribution of eight tidal marsh bird species during the non-breeding season along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The Bankruptcy Judge And The Generalist Tradition, Alexander Gouzoules

The prevailing academic consensus is that bankruptcy judges are specialists presiding over specialized courts. This Article contends that this description is incomplete and, in some respects, inaccurate. Drawing on scholarly models of judicial specialization and historical surveys of the field, this Article contends that bankruptcy judges reflect a hybrid design choice: procedural specialization combined with substantive generalism. This model delivers many of the observed benefits of judicial specialization (including efficiency and technical competence) while preserving the cross-pollination of ideas and other benefits associated with the generalist tradition of American judging.
