Students with moderate to severe disabilities often demonstrate variability in acquiring and generalizing functional skills necessary for independent participation in school and daily life. Although evidence-based practices are widely recommended, less is known about how specific instructional strategies support both skill acquisition and generalization. The purpose of this quantitative single-subject study was to examine the effects of task-analytic instruction on the acquisition, efficiency, and generalization of a functional help-seeking routine among middle school students with moderate to severe disabilities in a self-contained life skills program. This sequential explanatory mixed-methods study examined the impact of a structured, twiceweekly advisory class designed to operationalize social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum as an intervention to strengthen middle school students’ sense of school connectedness. Prompted by low California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) results and inconsistent curriculum implementation, the study—grounded in stage-environment fit theory, ecological systems theory, social cognitive theory, and self-determination theory—investigated whether this intervention influenced students’ reported sense of connectedness and how students themselves defined and experienced belonging within the school environment. Wastewater testing for SARS-CoV-2 provided useful public health information during the COVID-19 pandemic yet was underutilized in rural communities. We addressed this gap by implementing wastewater surveillance and assessing its performance in 10 communities in Eastern Kentucky. We collected wastewater samples 1–2 times weekly at 10 wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) from May 2021 until April 2023 and measured SARS-CoV-2 RNA concentrations using polymerase chain reaction testing. We calculated time-lagged correlations between wastewater concentrations and county-level reported COVID-19 cases by site. Introduction: People who smoke nondaily represent nearly one third of U.S. adults who smoke and experience significant smoking-related morbidity and mortality, yet they are rarely considered when evaluating the efficacy of graphic cigarette warnings.

Method: In October 2019, U.S. adults who smoked nondaily ( n =59) and daily ( n =183) evaluated 13 Food and Drug Administration–proposed graphic warnings and 13 equivalent text-only warnings on the extent to which they elicited understanding, perceived new knowledge, worry about smoking, and discouragement to smoke and were believable. Repeated-measures ANOVA and planned comparisons tested for between-subjects (smoking status) and within-subjects (warning type) effects. …

Many queer people hold a particular affinity for horror films, despite the history of harm to queer people that those films have helped to perpetuate. This mixed-methods study, grounded in Improvement Science, examines behavioral support provided by paraeducators, sometimes referred to as paraprofessionals, to students who receive special education services. Districts employ paraeducators to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with a range of disabilities. Often, paraeducators possess limited skills and receive little training to provide effective support to students. Additionally, paraeducators remain among the lowest-paid employees in school districts. Research suggests that targeted professional development, particularly whole-group instruction, followed by coaching, modeling, and feedback, can improve both paraeducator implementation fidelity and student outcomes. This paper develops a comprehensive industry analysis of the U.S. insurance market, integrating market definition, value-chain mapping, industry dynamics, competitive forces, benchmarking, and company applications. It concludes with a focused assessment of how artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping underwriting, claims, fraud detection, customer interaction, and product innovation. Drawing on regulatory and industry sources (NAIC, Insurance Information Institute, U.S. Treasury’s Federal Insurance Office), and management/consulting research (McKinsey, Deloitte, EY, IBM), the analysis finds a large, mature sector under structural transformation via data and AI. Title: Improving Confidence in Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists in Providing Care for Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements (TAVR)

Background: Anesthesia staffing for complex, high-risk procedures like Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements (TAVR) is challenging due to a national shortage of anesthesia providers and the company's heavy reliance on non-permanent (locum tenens and 1099) Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). At this TAVR procedure location, 70% of the team is comprised of non-permanent staff. A lack of specialized training and experience in TAVR procedures led to a decrease in provider confidence and staffing shortages for these critical cases.

This thesis is both a creative project and a critical investigation into the dissolving boundary between art shaping life and life shaping art in filmmaking. The creative project at its center is EAT MY LOVE, a short film adaptation of the Russian folk tale The Maiden Tsar (Царь-Девица). It is a fairytale set in the modern world that uses elements of surrealism and magical realism, and unexpectedly became a camouflaged documentary. The goal of seismic imaging is to recover structures underground via waves emitted from source points and received by sensors. Through the use of the elliptic Radon transform and an approximation to its inverse, images called reconstructions of the underground surfaces can be generated. We delve into some of the theory that allows for images to be made as well as giving reason to why singularities and artifacts appear in the reconstructions. Thousands of international investment and trade agreements contain provisions protecting investments made by parties from the signatory states. One such provision is Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS), a mechanism allowing foreign investors to sue host states in arbitration for treaty violations. Fossil fuel investors are increasingly utilizing ISDS successfully to hold states liable for climate action; arbitral tribunals are awarding large compensations to these investors when states deny them permits for upstream activities or enact phase-out policies attempting to ban fossil fuel consumption.
