Leading Where You Live: A Qualitative Multi-Case Study Of Public High School Principals Who Reside In Their School Communities, Joseph Held

Despite extensive scholarship on relational trust, social capital, place-based leadership, and culturally responsive practice, little is known about how a principal’s residency within the school community shapes leadership demands. This qualitative, multi-case study employed semi-structured interviews, reflexive memoing, and cross-case thematic analysis to examine how nine Minnesota high school principals who lived in the urban, suburban, and rural communities they served experienced leadership practice, equity work, and emotional labor. Findings revealed that residency functions as a consequential leadership condition that reorganizes how principals build trust, exercise judgment, engage families, navigate boundaries, and interpret equity-related tensions. This staff education doctoral project focused on educating nursing staff about the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) for depression screening in inpatient psychiatric care. Addressing this issue is crucial, as poor adherence leads to missed diagnoses and treatment, increased hospital visits, and poor patient outcomes. Low adherence to the PHQ-9 depression screening protocol has emerged as a significant practice gap. As Generation X (GenX) women near full retirement age, concerns about retirement preparedness have increased due to limited time to save and greater dependence on employer-sponsored retirement plans. The purpose of this qualitative single case study was to explore Gen X women’s perceptions of their retirement preparedness and to identify themes that influence effective retirement planning. Life cycle theory, the theory of reasoned action, and vested interest theory ground the conceptual framework for this study, which together explain how individuals anticipate future needs and engage in intentional financial behaviors. The recent COVID-19 pandemic has heightened public interest in noninvasive methods for early diagnosis of infectious diseases. In addition, various government agencies have implemented "infectious disease preparedness" to mitigate future outbreaks. This review highlights conventional and advanced methods for infectious disease diagnosis with an emphasis on emerging mass spectrometry methods. Conventional methods for pathogen identification, such as culture-based techniques and molecular methods, have limitations with respect to sensitivity, specificity, and turnaround time. Diverse quantum phenomena have been observed in TSn₄ transition metal (T) stannides, includ ing superconductivity, nontrivial topology, and large magnetoresistance (MR) at low temperat ures. Here, we report the experimental and theoretical investigation of tetragonal β-IrSn4 (space group I4₁/acd) with the lattice parameters a = 6.362(3) Å and c = 22.723(0) Å. The temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity indicates that β-IrSn₄ is a good metal with Fermi-liquid behavior above the superconducting transition at T_c ∼ 0.7 K. Here, we present the results of a combined computational and experimental study of magnetic and structural properties of a Heusler compound Mn2PtIn. In particular, we analyze the effect of biaxial strain on tetragonal distortion and magnetic properties of this alloy. It is shown that the ground state of this material corresponds to tetragonal symmetry, with possible non-collinear magnetic alignment. At the same time, our calculations indicate that this system may also exhibit ferrimagnetic alignment of magnetic moments. Analysis of exchange couplings indicates that ferrimagnetic alignment is more likely to be realized in practice. The interplay between these two magnetic phases …

Protecting vulnerable road users is imperative. As 5G wireless technology matures and 6G standards are established, new operational technology emerges to reduce traffic accidents. There is widespread evidence to support the need for pedestrian awareness in modern traffic ecosystems as a significant number of vulnerable road users are injured or killed every year due to observable traffic failures. Computational electromagnetic (CEM) solvers are used to model, simulate, and analyze the performance of antennas deployed to meet this challenge. Dawn raids remain a cornerstone of competition law enforcement, yet their execution has grown complex in the digital era. Messaging platforms and remote devices increase the risk of on-site deletions, prompting authorities in Türkiye and the EU to adopt a strict-liability stance: any deletion after inspections begin is treated as obstruction per se, regardless of intent, recoverability or probative loss. While this maximises deterrence, it raises concerns of proportionality, privacy and legal certainty. The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides unpaid, job‑protected leave only for eligible workers, and rules tied to hours, tenure, and employer size often exclude mothers working part-time. Research on U.S. family and medical leave has documented inequities in access to job protections. The lived experiences of African American/Black mothers navigating this gap remain underrepresented. The purpose of this narrative qualitative study was to explore the lived experiences of African American/Black mothers who worked part-time without mandated job protections, with specific attention to FMLA.
