Coal Geology & Exploration

Background CO₂ storage in basalts, enjoying distinct advantages of rapid mineralization and high safety, has gradually emerged as a hot research topic both in China and abroad. This study presents a systematic review of the current status of research on the mechanisms of in situ CO₂ mineralization storage, the evolutionary characteristics of the physical properties of strata under the condition of mineralization reactions, and representative demonstration projects. On this basis, the future research directions are proposed. • The rise in plastic consumption and production has also created a rise in plastic pollution. This plastic waste breaks down into smaller particles over time called microplastics (MPs).
• These plastics move through the environment (and through the food chain), often ending up in our bodies(see Fig. 1) (Cindrella& Rinjith, 2025).
• In 2013, Zettler et al. found that microbes often colonize MPs and form biofilms on the surface. This ecosystem is referred to as the plastisphere.
• The effects of MPs on the environment and human health is not well understood, and studying these effects is challenging.

This study examines the image of the father in Saleh Al-Ghufeili’s autobiography “My Life Journey” through a psycho-narrative lens. It employs tools from modern psychological theory—particularly Freud’s view that literary texts are largely emotional products shaped by unconscious stimuli—alongside narrative techniques to trace and interpret the father’s representation and its explicit and implicit meanings. The father’s image emerges as complex and psychologically charged. The narrator appears torn between an unconscious urge to settle unresolved conflicts with his father and a conscious attempt to construct an idealized paternal figure. This study explores two key stylistic features in Al-Marrār ibn Munqidh al-ʿAdawī’s’ poem: poetic imagery and intertextuality, as they form the main structural and aesthetic basis of the poem. It highlights their psychological and artistic connotations through a descriptive-analytical and stylistic approach that examines the poem’s expressive and aesthetic aspects. The study includes an introduction outlining the problem, aims, method, and previous studies, followed by two sections: the first section analyzes the artistic image, its forms and meanings; the second section discusses intertextuality with earlier Arabic poetry and its influence on meaning. This study investigates how psychic repression and identity fragmentation are represented in Joharah Alremal’s Al-Awsaj (2023), asking how inherited trauma and the symbolic Dark Passenger shape the protagonist’s fractured selfhood. It aims to clarify the mechanisms through which insomnia, shadow projection, and the witch’s prophecies externalize unresolved familial wounds. Methodologically, the paper employs a psychoanalytic close reading informed by Jungian theory, situating the novel in comparative dialogue with Jeff Lindsay’s Darkly Dreaming Dexter (2004). This study examines the “Memory of Place” as a manifestation of creative memory in the Saudi short story and visual arts through a semiotic approach integrating Lotman’s concepts and Peirce’s triadic model. It explores how place transcends geographical boundaries to become an “active semantic structure” and cultural sign that reproduces collective identity. The analysis reveals a shared rural “Semiosphere” between narrative and image, where meanings intersect to form a unified creative memory that reinterprets heritage amidst modern urbanization. This study discusses the scholarly life in the city of Nizwa from the 3rd to the 6th centuries AH (9th–12th centuries AD). During this era, Nizwa emerged as one of the most prominent centers of learning in eastern Arabian Peninsula and the Islamic world. The people of Nizwa relied on educational institutions such as mosques, kuttabs (traditional elementary schools), Qurʾanic schools, and scholarly circles to gain and spread knowledge. When undergraduate EFL students engage in authentic research, they begin to see themselves not merely as language learners but as legitimate researchers, a transformation that reshapes their academic belonging. This study investigates how authentic undergraduate research experiences influence English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students’ sense of belonging in a Saudi higher-education context. Using a mixed-methods design, data were collected from 122 female undergraduate EFL students enrolled in a Research Methods course. Quantitative data were gathered using an adapted multidimensional belonging survey measuring membership, acceptance, affective comfort, trust, and participation/withdrawal, while qualitative reflections captured students’ identity development and research perceptions. …
