The widespread of recent multimedia, including various 3D model applications in different domains of areas, may lead to 3D models being stolen and attacked by hackers. Moreover, 3D models must be protected from unauthorized users and when transmitting over the internet. Nowadays the 3D model protection is a very important Issue. This paper proposed a scheme that provides high protection for the textured 3D model by implementing multiple levels of security. The first level of security is achieved by encrypting the texture map based on a key generated by a 2D Logistic chaotic map. The second level of security is …
Load Balancing And Detection Of Distributed Denial Of Service Attacks Using Entropy Detection, Hiba Salah, Ahmed Al-Saadi
Load Balancing And Detection Of Distributed Denial Of Service Attacks Using Entropy Detection, Hiba Salah, Ahmed Al-Saadi
Iraqi Journal of Computers, Communications, Control and Systems Engineering
Software Defined Network (SDN) is a modern network architecture that has a centralized controller. It is more flexible, and programmable due to the separation of the control plane from the data plane. However, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks is one of the dangers that the SDN network is facing. It could attack and stop the controller from working, causing the whole system to be down. Moreover, DDoS attacks can target the hosts and the switches to stop the services for a long time as they could cause more damage to the network or datacenter. In this work, a proposed …

Timetabling Problem Solving Based On Improved Meerkat Clan Algorithm (Imca), Mohammed A., Hasanen S.
Iraqi Journal of Computers, Communications, Control and Systems Engineering
The university courses timetabling problem (UCTP) is a big topic among academics and institutions since it occurs every academic year. In general, UCTP is the distribution of events across slots time for each room based on a list of restrictions provided in one semester, such as (hard constraint and soft constraint), with the objective of avoiding conflicts in such assignments. Hard constraints should never be breached when striving to satisfy as many soft constraints as possible. There are many different methods used in automating the problems of the university timetabling course in higher education institutions. This paper presents an improved …

Walking The Talk On Sustainable Development Goals: The Case Of Community Foundations In Canada, Marta Rey-Garcia, Rosane Dal Magro
Walking The Talk On Sustainable Development Goals: The Case Of Community Foundations In Canada, Marta Rey-Garcia, Rosane Dal Magro
The Foundation Review
The United Nations 2030 Agenda creates an opportunity for philanthropic foundations to become more collaborative and transformative in their work toward global goals. Thus, since 2016, the extent to which foundations adopt the Sustainable Development Goals framework in their functioning has become a topic of interest. Although survey- and case-based research shows increased rates of self-reported adoption and several tools are available to help foundations to act toward the goals, there is a lack of systematic evidence about the purposes of and processes for adopting the goals among foundations.
This void is particularly relevant for community foundations, as they have …

Proof Positive: Applications Of Chemical Analysis Techniques In Art Forgery Detection, Joseph Fryc
Proof Positive: Applications Of Chemical Analysis Techniques In Art Forgery Detection, Joseph Fryc
Museum Studies Theses
In response to the subjective nature of older forgery detection techniques, modern forgery detection methods rely heavily on chemical analysis of the materials utilized in a given piece of work in order to make authenticity determinations. Chemical methods of detection at their core provide an objective determination of facts regarding the composition of materials utilized in contested pieces and provide a relative date of production for those materials. In this way, chemical analysis helps service the field of modern forgery detection as a direct compliment to traditional stylistic analysis, by providing extra data on the piece that can often be …

Museums & Environmental Sustainability: Are They Doing Enough?, Alexandra M. Dwyer
Museum Studies Theses
As the world continues to be affected by the rapid rates of climate change, institutions from every sector are transitioning to become more sustainable by reducing or eliminating their harmful habits on the ecosystem. Whether by their own accord or external pressure from current legislative action to cut carbon emissions, institutions are shifting towards a sustainable future. For museums there are additional unique reasons to adopt sustainability into various aspects with their institution. The most influential reason is that museums have a responsibility as community leaders and change makers. However, looming questions remain: Are museums doing enough? Are these cultural …

On a global scale, invasive grasses threaten biodiversity and ecosystem function. Nevertheless, the importation of forage grasses is a significant economic force driven by globalization. Pastureland and rangeland are of critical economic and ecological importance, but novel grass species may lead to invasion. Recognizing that economically important species can also be ecologically damaging creates a contentious debate for land managers, policymakers, and ecologists alike. Many Afrotropical perennial grass species have been intentionally introduced pantropically given their high forage production and resistance to stress. However, these traits may also confer competitive ability, increasing the possibility of unintended escape and invasion. Further, …

Gravid female Anopheles gambiae mosquitoes identify suitable oviposition sites through a repertoire of cues, but the influence of allelochemicals, especially root phytochemicals in modulating this behavior and impacting subsequent progeny bionomics remains unexplored. We addressed these questions in the malaria vector Anopheles gambiae and its invasive host plant Parthenium hysterophorus. Using chemical analysis combined with laboratory behavioral assays, we demonstrate that a blend of terpenes, namely α-pinene, α-phellandrene, β-phellandrene, 3-carene and (E)-caryophyllene emitted from P. hysterophorus root exudate treated-water attracted gravid females. However, fewer eggs (55%) hatched in this treatment than in control water (66%). The sesquiterpene lactone parthenin, identified …

Global trade through imports and exports of commodities brings an excessive risk of accidental introduction of invasive alien species in many countries. South Africa imports a range of fresh fruits and other commodities to complement its local production. Despite the substantial impacts of these invasive alien species, relatively little is known about the pathways and origins by which these organisms arrive in South Africa. In this study, we analyzed the susceptibility of South Africa to introduced plant-feeding pests detected from imported consignments of fresh fruits into the country over 10 years between 2009 and 2018. The analysis was conducted from …

The outbreak of coronavirus was expected to adversely affect African countries more than any other region in the world. This assertion was based on the existing conditions in sub-Saharan Africa that exposed the region to the dire consequences of the pandemic. Previously existing underlying conditions that affected the food system include a high dependence on trade for inputs supply, the adverse effects of climate change, crop pests and diseases, poverty, low input use, weak institutions and ineffective policies, and insecurity and conflicts. We collected data from farmers, aggregators, bean research coordinators, and urban and peri-urban consumers in five Eastern African …

Jesus’ feeding the five thousand is the only miracle that the four Gospels commonly recorded among the miracles Jesus Himself performed. The feeding miracle episode is like the gem, which changes light colors slightly depending on how people see it. However, some scholars try to approach it only in a particular direction and partially understand it. Based on the literary-historical-theological methodology, this thesis has a focal point to disclose the compressive and multi-dimensional implications. The exegesis of Mark 6:30-44 begins with the refinement of interpretive methodology. The methodology of this thesis prudently considers both the traditional perspective and recent research. …

Serving Special Education Students In The Music Classroom: Accommodating And Advocating For Learners With Exceptionalities, Kathryn Lambert
Masters Theses
Music education programs positively impact the lives of students both socially and emotionally. As the following research suggests, music may have an even greater impact on students with disabilities or exceptionalities. Due to the lack of accessibility, funding, time, training, and other issues, opportunities in music education programs may be limited to groups of students who may not fit the standard music education student profile. As teachers of common core classes may struggle to accommodate students with exceptionalities and may feel as if they are lacking in resources or other needed preparation to adequately serve these students, these struggles are …

Geoffrey Chaucer wrote, “Time and tide wait for no man.” He was correct. Aging is universal. It affects all humans in positive and negative ways. From children becoming teens to adults becoming senior adults, each stage of life brings changes and challenges. In one’s forties, menus can become harder to read, hair can fall out, hearing in loud environments can become difficult. Then, in one’s mid-sixties, more difficult challenges can arrive. Health issues such as high blood pressure, diabetes, lung disease can become a regular part of one’s life. Cognition slowness, vision and hearing loss can create difficulties not only …
