The lactational amenorrhea method (LAM) is a natural contraceptive that is highly effective after the three essential criteria are fulfilled. However, there is a significantly low adoption resulting from poor knowledge and correct practices. This study aimed to determine the correlation between knowledge and behavior of breastfeeding mothers on breastfeeding as a natural contraceptive. This was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design involving 89 breastfeeding mothers and was performed from January to March 2018. Furthermore, data were collected using a questionnaire, and the results showed knowledge of breastfeeding mothers to be good (59.6%) and not good (51.7%). However, …

The COVID-19 pandemic, originated in China, has spread to worldwide, including Indonesia. Until July 2021, the growth rate has been gradually increasing, and cases have been found in all 34 provinces of Indonesia. This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) of health personnel in the primary health care towards the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia using online self-report questionnaire. A total of 440 respondents contributed to this online survey. The average level of KAP were 7.7 out of 10.0, 14.3 out of 15.0, and 31.9 out of 36.0, respectively. Paid sick leave is vital for controlling the spread of illness in the workplace and an invaluable public health tool, but too few workers have access to it. In this brief, we examine the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to assess paid sick leave coverage with a focus on the social and economic characteristics of workers without paid leave.

Using a nationally representative survey with roughly 4,000 working respondents, we found that a third lacked access to paid sick leave. Workers without paid leave were younger, more likely to be female, more likely to be white, and less likely to …

As rates of vaccination have slowed, concerns are growing about how to increase vaccine uptake among those who are vaccine hesitant, particularly with the emergence of new and contagious variants such as Delta. Using our national Socioeconomic Impacts of COVID-19 Survey, we examine the predictors of vaccine hesitance in the U.S. and report on findings from an experiment assessing the potential impacts of vaccine incentive schemes.

In Indonesia at the end of 2020, COVID-19 cases were increasing and predicted to continue, as it had not yet passed the peak of the pandemic curve. The government had implemented mobility restrictions to reduce exposure to COVID-19. This study aimed to identify the risk of people getting COVID-19 based on their daily activities. Using a cross-sectional design, this study took 315 respondents under non-probability sampling from September to October 2020. Thedata were analyzed using the Chi-square test with α 0.05. This study investigates the utilization of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) for occupancy detection to optimize Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) energy consumption. Leveraging environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, light, and CO2 levels, alongside occupancy status, various ANN architectures' efficacy in accurately predicting room occupancy is evaluated. The research involves comprehensive data analysis, including exploratory data analysis (EDA) and model evaluation on training, validation, and test datasets. The study demonstrates the potential of ANN-based occupancy detection in enhancing HVAC system efficiency by dynamically adjusting heating, cooling, and ventilation settings based on real-time occupancy information. System transformation is fundamental, broad, deep, and multi-scalar change that involves a paradigm change, i.e., a radical shift, in five key interrelated and interactive dimensions that constitute the whole of a “complexly wicked” socio-ecological system. This paper discusses these dimensions and provides a rationale for focusing on them. The dimensions are purpose(s), perspectives, and performance metrics. They provide an umbrella for the other two, power(s) relationships and dynamics, and the combination of practices, policies, and processes (practices for short) that characterize how a given socio-ecological system operates.
