Background: Buddhist monks in Thailand experience distinctive lifestyle constraints—such as dependence on alms-based diets and restrictions on strenuous physical activity—that heighten their vulnerability to type 2 diabetes. This study examined the effectiveness of a structured health literacy program in improving diabetes-preventive self-care behaviors among pre-diabetic Buddhist monks in upper northeastern Thailand.

Methods: A quasi-experimental study was conducted with 72 pre-diabetic monks, evenly allocated to intervention and comparison groups. The intervention group completed a 24-week structured health literacy program. Background: Universal health coverage (UHC) literacy is vital for promoting equitable access to healthcare. However, Thailand lacks a validated tool specifically designed to measure UHC literacy within its cultural context. This study aimed to develop and validate such a tool, named the Universal Health Coverage Literacy Scale for the Thai Context (UHCL:TH).

Methods: A two-phase cross-sectional study design was employed. Phase 1 involved a literature review and identification of the tool’s key components through a two-round Modified Delphi Method process conducted with 19 multidisciplinary experts. The ability of intelligent agents to perform complex, cross-application tasks may be constrained by a dependency on application-specific programming interfaces (APIs), which can limit interaction with user interfaces and adaptation to dynamic visual changes. A system can employ a closed-loop perception-action cycle where a multimodal intelligent agent analyzes visual data from a screen of a host device, such as a smartphone or computer, to predict a next action. A control application can translate this action into a sequence of low-level human interface device events. Source-to-source compilers may perform inefficiently by executing transpilation passes on scripts that do not contain the specific language features a pass is designed to transform, potentially leading to redundant processing. A compiler can analyze a script to generate a per-script feature map, for example, by identifying language features in its abstract syntax tree (AST). Before executing a transpilation pass, the compiler can check this map and may bypass the pass for that script if the specific feature targeted by the pass is not present. This disclosure describes autofocus (AF) techniques that leverage multiple exposures of phase detection (PD) data to ensure that all relevant regions of interest in an image benefit from the highest possible PD signal quality while reducing the computational load and latency incurred by the AF module. A single, unified PD raw frame is generated by merging data from multiple exposure contexts. Raw PD data is blended within the front-end of the image signal processor (ISP) or similar low-level layer, obviating extensive preprocessing to determine the optimal PD source. A law created to dismantle organized crime is now being misused to target pharmaceutical companies. The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), originally intended to combat criminal enterprises, has since expanded far beyond its intended purpose. Third-party payors (TTPs), such as health insurers, have increasingly relied on RICO to sue pharmaceutical companies for deceptive marketing practices that allegedly cause significant financial harm. While it is important to hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for their fraudulent conduct, applying RICO in these cases represents a troublesome overreach. The United States (U.S.) has made significant progress in improving food traceability, with the FDA’s Final Food Traceability Rule set to take effect in 2026. This long-overdue regulation aims to improve outbreak response and better protect public health. However, major gaps in the U.S. traceability system remain, leaving consumers exposed to preventable foodborne illness outbreaks. Legislative challenges, including H.R. Bill 7563 and provisions in the Fiscal Year 2025 Agriculture Appropriations bill, threaten to delay or weaken these necessary reforms. With the growing volume and complexity of time-series and image-based datasets, there is an increasing demand for robust, flexible, and scalable clustering algorithms. This mixed-methods action research study examined how implementing the CKLA, Core Knowledge Language Arts, curriculum, founded in the science of reading, enhanced the reading achievement among first-grade African American students. The purpose of the study was to explore how phonics instruction, specifically phonemic awareness, and multicultural literature would improve literacy. The study was guided by Ivankova’s six-phased mixed methods model integrating quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative data collected included the DIBELS, Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills, benchmark and progress monitoring assessments. The growing complexity of aviation operations, particularly in rotorcraft and vertical flight necessitates the development of intelligent, automated systems to enhance safety and situational awareness. This thesis investigates the application of artificial intelligence (AI), with a focus on deep learning (DL), to address critical safety challenges in aviation. Four core use cases are examined: helicopter cockpit flight data monitoring, runway detection, helipad segmentation, and obstacle localization around rotorcraft landing zones.
