Epigenetic inhibitors exhibit powerful antiproliferative and anticancer activities. However, cellular responses to small-molecule epigenetic inhibition are heterogeneous and dependent on factors such as the genetic background and metabolic state of cells, as well as on-/off-target engagement of individual small-molecule compounds. The molecular study of the extent of this heterogeneity often measures changes in a single cell line. To more comprehensively profile the effects of small-molecule perturbations and their influence on heterogeneous cellular responses, we present a molecular resource based on the quantification of chromatin, proteome, and transcriptome remodeling due to histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACi) in non-isogenic cell lines. Through quantitative …
Esg And Firm Performance In China: The Moderating Role Of Firm Size And Covid-19, Peng Dan
Esg And Firm Performance In China: The Moderating Role Of Firm Size And Covid-19, Peng Dan
Student Works (2020-2029)
This study examines the relationship between Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance and firm performance in China's A-share listed companies, with a particular focus on the moderating roles of firm size and the COVID-19 pandemic. Drawing on stakeholder theory, the research investigates whether ESG activities contribute positively to firm performance, and how this relationship varies with firm size and during crisis periods. The sample consists of Chinese A-share firms from 2019 to 2023, a period that includes the COVID-19 pandemic. After data processing, there are a total of 14,186 observations over the five-year period. Firm performance is measured using both …

Finding Debtor’S Counsel, Anthony Casey, Emma Lotts
BYU Law Review
In this Essay, we explore the question of how to assess the independence of debtor’s counsel in Chapter 11. The question has arisen in recent high-profile bankruptcy cases, attracting renewed attention from commentators. We examine these cases and revisit the unique role that debtor’s counsel serves.
From this analysis, a few guiding principles emerge for determining independence and managing conflicts that may arise. First, consistent with the rules outside of bankruptcy, sophisticated parties are capable of waiving conflicts and should be free to do so when their interests alone are affected by the conflict. Second, the possibility of conflicts—both real …

Background/Objectives: In recent years, MRI-based diffusion-weighted tractography techniques have uncovered additional white matter pathways that have significant roles in language processing and production. In this review, we aim to outline the major language centers of the brain and major language pathways along with association tracts that serve dual roles in both the language and limbic systems. According to the current dual-stream model of language processing, the brain's language network is organized into a dorsal stream, responsible for mapping sound to articulation, and a ventral stream, which maps sound to meaning.

A Comparison Of The Effectiveness Of Salmonella-Shigella (Ss) Agar And Xylose Lysine Deoxycholate (Xld) Agar In Supporting The Growth Of Salmonella Sp. And Shigella Sp., Ika Ningsih, Kharisma Winnie Chryssantium Tiro
Indonesian Journal of Medical Chemistry and Bioinformatics
Diarrheal diseases caused by Salmonella sp. and Shigella sp. are among the most significant public health challenges worldwide, especially among children. To identify these bacteria, Salmonella-Shigella (SS) and Xylose Lysine Deoxycholate (XLD) agar media are used, which are selective and differential for Salmonella sp. and Shigella sp. Although these media share similar properties and functions for growing Salmonella sp. and Shigella sp., results from previous studies differ from those obtained in tests conducted by the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia. This laboratory-based experimental study used serial dilution with three replicates (triplicate). Based on SNI 2897 of …

Overcoming The Dyadic Default In Research On Child Development, Roman Stengelin, Patricia Kanngiesser, Sophie Milward
School of Psychology
Researchers conducting experimental work on sociocognitive development in childhood typically study one-on-one interactions. This approach aligns with the assumption that children's social cognition, motivation, and learning first emerge in dyadic interactions before scaling up to larger social ensembles. In this article, we argue that this dyadic default reflects widespread theoretical and cultural biases as well as methodological convenience, leading to an overemphasis on dyadic interactions in research on child development. Because dyadic engagements can differ qualitatively and quantitatively from those in larger social ensembles, the dyadic default may systematically skew our understanding of key areas of social development and fail …

Interseeding cover crops into corn may provide many benefits, such as weed suppression, nitrogen fixation from legume covers, and, most importantly, soil cover and forage for livestock after corn harvest. It also has the potential to negatively impact corn production if competition with covers for water and nutrients is too high. The purpose of this guide is to discuss recent research and experience with interseeding cover crops in the Intermountain West.

Jurnal Geografi Lingkungan Tropik (Journal of Geography of Tropical Environments)
Geothermal plays an important role in affecting surface water quality with both positive and negative effects. It becomes an efficient renewable energy source in generating electricity without producing harmful gases. However, the presence of geothermal affects the quality of surface water in a watershed. This research is focused on the Mount Salak geothermal area which has volcanic and tectonic activity. Parameters such as electrical conductivity (measured in millisiemens/cm) were used to measure the content of minerals and dissolved compounds in the water. Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) measured in ppt is used to quantify dissolved solids, while water acidity (pH) indicates …

Business Communication Barriers In An Export-Oriented Company: A Case Study Of Pt. Xyz, Sartika Ekadyasa, Arius Krypton
Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis Terapan
This study examines business communication barriers faced by PT. XYZ, an export-oriented company engaged in international business cooperation. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature review. The findings indicate that business communication is influenced by multiple interrelated barriers, including socio-anthro-psychological, technical, and ecological factors, which affect communication effectiveness during coordination, negotiation, and relationship management with foreign business partners. These barriers shape the quality of mutual understanding, trust, and operational efficiency in cross-border interactions. The study highlights the importance of integrated communication strategies that address social, cultural, psychological, technical, and environmental dimensions …
