Chiral superconductors have been proposed as one pathway to realize Majorana normal fluid at its boundary. However, the long-sought 2D and 3D chiral superconductors with edge and surface Majorana normal fluid are yet to be conclusively found. Here, we report evidence for a chiral spin-triplet pairing state of UTe₂ with surface normal fluid response. The microwave surface impedance of the UTe₂ crystal was measured and converted to complex conductivity, which is sensitive to both normal and superfluid responses. The anomalous residual normal fluid conductivity supports the presence of a significant normal fluid response. The superfluid conductivity follows the …

This paper will investigate American’s opinions on Iran and fears of a nuclear strike by Iran while examining American fear of Muslims, party identification, 2020 election voting, news media representations of Iran, social media usage, fears of immigration, fears of falling victim to a terrorist attack, and fears of whites not being the majority. The changing climate is a situation that can be characterized by the threat of dangerous and irreparable changes to the planet. These alterations include an increase in global temperatures, food and water insecurities, extreme weather patterns, social unrest, and political conflict. This dissertation develops quantitative models to support medical decision making of statininitiation considering the uncertainty in disease progression for prediabetes patients. A mathematical model is built to help medical decision-makers take action of statin initiation under uncertainty in future prediabetes progressions. The association between cholesterol drug use, such as statin, and elevating glucose level attracted considerable amounts of attention in the literature. Statin effects on glucose vary with respect to different levels of glucose. The first chapter of this dissertation introduces the problem and an overview of the tools that will be used to solve it. This study uses the 2016 Irrigation Survey from Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi to document the use of irrigation best management practices (IBMPs), analyze use patterns, and use quantitative methods to determine factors that influence producers’ decisions regarding IBMPs. Trauma, for so many people, creates life altering injuries. One of the major injuries that results from trauma is volumetric muscle loss (VML), which is the loss of muscle tissue that cannot be naturally regenerated and results in chronic loss of function. When a small amount of damage is done to a muscle, but the underlying extracellular matrix of the cell is still intact, the muscle can regenerate much of its volume and function. If the injury damages the extracellular matrix, the injury site is instead filled with scar tissue, which cannot regenerate muscle mass or function. Seen widely in …
