Diverse Enteric Bacterial, Viral, And Parasitic Pathogen Genes Are Shed In Animal Feces In Indiana, Anna A. Heintzman, Ishi Keenum, Drew Capone

Southern Indiana has intensive livestock production, yet species-resolved fecal pathogen and pathogen associated gene profiles are limited. At 10 sites in southern Indiana (April-June 2024), we collected 128 fecal specimens from 10 hosts: pigs (n=12), horses (12), cats (12), chickens (12), dogs (22), white-tailed deer (12), sheep (12), goats (12), cows (12), and humans (10). We extracted and assayed total nucleic acids using a custom 43-target TaqMan Array Card (RT-qPCR). Flotation microscopy was performed on pig and dog stools for helminth ova. The tenant moved to dismiss a licensee holdover proceeding, arguing the landlord failed to name the estate of the deceased tenant of record as a necessary party because an unexpired rent-stabilized lease was in effect. The landlord argued the estate was not a necessary party. The court, finding the landlord's own papers and oral arguments conceded a two-year lease term, determined an unexpired lease existed when the proceeding commenced. Granting the tenant's motion, the court dismissed the proceeding without prejudice, holding that the deceased tenant's estate was indeed a necessary party.

Court dismissed nonpayment petition under MDL §§ 301 and 302 because two open DOB violations found uses of the building contrary to the certificate of occupancy. Court reaffirmed the well-established principle that MDL §§ 301-302 violations preclude the owner from collecting rent or maintaining a nonpayment proceeding for all units in the building, not merely the units directly implicated by the violation.

This paper presents a non-technical introduction to three economic tools that have in recent years become widespread in competition law enforcement in general and in the analysis of proposed mergers in particular: critical loss analysis, upward pricing pressure, and the vertical arithmetic. In addition, for each tool, its use in a recent U.S. merger case is illustrated: for critical loss analysis, the Novelis/Aleris merger; for upward pricing pressure, the GE/Electrolux merger; and for the vertical arithmetic, the Comcast/NBCU joint venture.

Background: Post hoc analyses of clinical trials have characterized dupilumab's adverse effects, yet the real-world impact in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) and asthma is not well described. This study aims to characterize the risks of lymphoma, cardiovascular events, eosinophilia, joint pain, inflammatory arthritis, and sleep apnea in dupilumab-treated CRSwNP and/or asthma patients compared to those not taking dupilumab, and to other biologics.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study used TriNetX, a de-identified database containing over 100 million patient records. Demographics and adverse effects associated with immunotherapy use were collected.

Development Of Sustainable Red Algae–Sisal Fiber Composite Films Via Doctor Blading, Matthew Richards, Joshua Baird, Noah Serda, Vuong Do, Yanika Schneider

This study investigated the properties of red algae (RA) biocomposite films reinforced with natural sisal fibers and plasticized with glycerol. The polymer was extracted from locally sourced red seaweed and combined sisal fibers at varying fiber loadings (0–45 wt%) using the doctor blading technique. Composite films were analyzed using a variety of methods to evaluate the chemical composition, thermal behavior and mechanical performance. Infrared spectroscopy confirmed the presence of kappa-carrageenan as the dominant polysaccharide in the RA matrix, whereas elemental analysis verified the dilution of sulfur content and enrichment of carbon with increasing fiber incorporation. BACKGROUND: Adolescent baseball pitchers are vulnerable to upper-extremity injuries because of the repetitive, high-stress nature of throwing movements. While shoulder strength and range of motion (ROM) are commonly measured, they are often interpreted in isolation during injury prevention assessments.

PURPOSE: To determine the relationship between clinical measures (shoulder ROM and strength) and throwing arm joint kinetics in adolescent baseball pitchers.

STUDY DESIGN: Descriptive laboratory study.

BACKGROUND: Audit & Feedback (A&F) interventions are recognized as effective strategies for enhancing healthcare quality, yet they remain relatively underutilized in Italian primary care settings. Recent literature highlights the importance of examining the factors influencing the implementation of these interventions across diverse clinical and organizational settings. Thus, this study aimed to identify such factors by exploring the experiences of professionals involved in an A&F intervention tailored for General Practitioners (GPs) treating chronic illnesses.
