Bit-Packed Prime Sieve: Optimization Via Mod-6 Wheel Factorization And Byte Alignment, Priyesh Padmavilasom Feb 2026

Bit-Packed Prime Sieve: Optimization Via Mod-6 Wheel Factorization And Byte Alignment, Priyesh Padmavilasom

Defensive Publications Series

Ideally, a prime sieve should minimize memory footprint and computational overhead. Using a mod-6 wheel (numbers of the form 6n±1) reduces the search space (mod-6 eliminates multiples of 2 and 3).

This paper presents a bit-packed sieve algorithm that maps four mod-6 residual pairs into a single byte, effectively compressing 24 integers into 8 bits of storage. We examine the recurring bit patterns inherent in this mapping and provide algorithms for the sieve. Leveraging this byte alignment, we introduce a computational optimization for determining the sieve start index (p^2), utilizing the number-theoretic property that for any prime p > 3, p^2 …

Llm-Powered Diagnostic Insights For Business Messaging Via Rich Communication Services, Tania Pradeep Gandhe Feb 2026

Llm-Powered Diagnostic Insights For Business Messaging Via Rich Communication Services, Tania Pradeep Gandhe

Defensive Publications Series

Managing Rich Communication Services (RCS) in the context of business messaging campaigns involves navigating complex asynchronous message states, technical error codes, and delivery telemetry across diverse regions. Businesses that use RCS struggle to interpret raw logs which leads to increased support tickets for the provider and delays in troubleshooting. This disclosure describes techniques that address insight gaps that appear between observed errors and their root causes in tools that manage RCS for Business Messaging (RBM). Rather than simply report an error code, a large language model (LLM) is used to determine and display the likely root causes of the error. …

The goal of the Southern Ocean Fronts and Eddies project (SOFE) is to measure and diagnose ocean eddy heat fluxes in the lee of the Southeast Indian Ridge (SEIR) in the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC). This location stands out as one of the major ACC eddy flux hot spots and as a region where the three ACC fronts converge closely together as they encounter the ridge complex. To achieve this goal, a coherent array of 16 current and pressure recording inverted echo sounders (CPIES) was deployed in the southernmost ACC front in November 2021 and recovered in 2025. This report …

Moment Of Recognizability: Askancing And The Global South, Pedro Lange Churion, Tanu Sankalia Feb 2026

Moment Of Recognizability: Askancing And The Global South, Pedro Lange Churion, Tanu Sankalia

Global Studies Faculty Publications

This article introduces askancing as an epistemic strategy for the Global South to challenge the Global North’s construction of the Global South’s alterity. Askancing is a neologism we propose by engaging with Jacques Lacan’s speculations on the gaze as it pertains to the construction of “the other.” We argue that this strategy of askancing might already be implicit in postcolonial theories, from the notion of the subaltern, through “decoloniality,” to “ecologies of knowledge.” Central to askancing—and contrary to the decolonial call for an epistemic break with modernity—we agree with Dipesh Chakrabarty’s assertion that modernity’s rational discourse is both “indispensable and …

Secondary Students’ Mental Health And Absenteeism Post-Covid-19: School Social Workers’ Perspectives, Tiffany Hines Sutton Feb 2026

Secondary Students’ Mental Health And Absenteeism Post-Covid-19: School Social Workers’ Perspectives, Tiffany Hines Sutton

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

School social workers practice in a post-COVID-19 educational context where anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation are closely associated with chronic absenteeism among middle school students. This practice problem is central to clinical social work because distress-based avoidance is often misinterpreted as defiance, resulting in punitive responses that intensify disengagement. The purpose of this doctoral project was to explore how school social workers perceive and respond to the interconnected dynamics of student mental health and chronic absenteeism following COVID-19. Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory guided the inquiry. A qualitative descriptive design was employed using semi-structured interviews with 10 middle school social workers …

Following a comprehensive review, the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) has developed an official position on the role of dietary antioxidants in exercise and sport. Antioxidants play a complex, context-dependent role in vivo; they can facilitate recovery from exercise but may also hinder training adaptations when consumed at supraphysiological doses. While endogenous antioxidant systems can effectively maintain redox balance, dietary sources, particularly whole foods, can help mitigate excessive oxidative stress following intense/heavy training or inadequate recovery. The influence of dietary antioxidants depend on timing, dosage, type, and individual factors. The ISSN’s official position encompasses the following: (1) Redox balance …
