Waste management is a key to sustainable development and environmental safety, particularly in the environment of the fast evolving smart cities. This study proposes a new decision-making model that will assist in the process of choosing effective sustainable methods in waste management for smart cities. It compares the four methods of waste management in relation to seven factors. The paper deals with the problem of queueing-inventory system that has uncertain service conditions, and it discusses the contribution of server availability and customer behaviours like balking and feedback that are also added in to the system performance. In real life service and production situations, servers are not always available because of maintenance processes, capacity constraints, or other unforeseen disruptions. Electroencephalography (EEG) data comes with a large size due to the data's high sampling rate. Therefore, compressing EEG data is very important for storing the EEG files efficiently with less space and bandwidth capacity requirement. This research develops an efficient system for EEG data compression. This commentary examines the growing strategic importance of high-energy laser weapons as part of modern multidomain defense and deterrence. As unmanned systems, hypersonic delivery platforms, and electronic warfare capabilities expand the speed and scale of modern conflict, traditional kinetic defenses face increasing limitations. Directed-energy systems, particularly high-energy lasers, offer scalable, precise, and cost-effective countermeasures against emerging threats. While laser weapons are not a universal solution, continued investment in power generation, beam control, artificial intelligence integration, and operational doctrine could allow these systems to play a central role in future defense architectures. Accurate identification of Alzheimer’s disease (AD)-related cellular characteristics from microscopy images is essential for understanding neurodegenerative mechanisms at the cellular level. While most computational approaches focus on macroscopic neuroimaging modalities, cell type classification from microscopy remains relatively underexplored. In this study, we propose a hybrid vision transformer–convolutional neural network (ViT–CNN) framework that integrates DeiT-Small and EfficientNet-B7 to classify three AD-related cell types—astrocytes, cortical neurons, and SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells—from phase-contrast microscopy images. Nurses need to be able to advocate for their patients, even if they face verbal abuse or incivility. Current literature indicates that 66.2%-95.1% of nurses experience verbal abuse (Dadfar & Lester, 2021) with younger, inexperienced nurses having higher levels of abuse (Zulfan et al., 2022). Nurses who face workplace violence, including verbal abuse, have higher levels of stress, impacting their mental and physical health (Sauer & McCoy, 2017).

A standardized guideline and scoring system are recommended for the imaging evaluation of musculoskeletal infections on MR imaging. The Musculoskeletal Infection Reporting and Data System (MSKI-RADS) is a recently developed and validated classification system using MR imaging that can be used to classify the severity and extent of musculoskeletal infections, improve radiology-pathology concordance, and outline the corresponding management recommendations. Accurate monitoring of Chlorophyll-a (Chla) is critical for assessing aquatic ecosystem health, yet ecological complexity often leads to ambiguous spectral signatures in satellite data. Traditional deterministic models assume a one-to-one mapping between spectra and pigments, often failing to capture these high-dimensional analytical challenges. Human head lice are widely dispersed ectoparasites in the world and have been divided into 6 haplogroups (A to F). There are no studies about the louse haplogroup type in Iraq. Thus, the study aimed to determine the species of head lice and their prevalence rate in primary school students in north Basrah and also aimed to determine the genotype and haplogroup of head lice in these regions. The paper addresses the potential air pollution levels resulting from the combustion of natural gas in the Rumaila combined cycle power plant in Basrah city. The study aims to evaluate the concentrations of pollutants (carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter) at distances of 100, 500, and 1000 meters from the plant using a Gaussian dispersion model. This includes calculating the emission rates of pollutants from the stacks and estimating atmospheric stability based on data from the Iraqi Meteorological Authority. T cell engagers (TCEs) recruit T cells to the tumor microenvironment (TME) to induce antitumor immune responses. TCEs have demonstrated promising clinical responses in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer and have advanced into phase 3 clinical trials. Here we provide an overview of the mechanisms of action of TCEs, including both CD3-targeted and CD28-targeted agents, and review the clinical development of these agents for prostate cancer. This Comment examines the evolution and misuse of captive audience laws in the United States, particularly as they have shifted from narrow exceptions in First Amendment jurisprudence to expansive tools for ideological suppression. In this paper, we will demonstrate that a dense quark-matter system in the dual chiral density wave (DCDW) phase behaves as a ferromagnet in the sense that its magnetic-field dependent magnetization remains different from zero even at 𝐵 →0. The corresponding permanent magnetization is a function of the baryonic chemical potential 𝜇, decreasing up to zero as 𝜇 increases in the range of intermediate densities (312 MeV⩽𝜇⩽342 MeV) and then increasing from zero in the higher density interval 490 MeV⩽𝜇⩽550 MeV. Dentists account for up to 10% of antibiotic prescriptions, highlighting the need for rational prescribing practices. This study aimed to assess the prevalence and predictors of inappropriate antibiotic prescriptions by dentists in primary health clinics in Muscat Governorate, Oman. Prognostic risk categorization aids treatment selection for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Although the European LeukemiaNet (ELN) classifications (2017 and 2022) for AML have been used to stratify outcomes for patients receiving intensive chemotherapy, their application to patients receiving less intensive therapy, such as azacitidine plus venetoclax, has been less satisfactory. In response, a 4-gene classifier that stratifies older patients with AML unfit for intensive chemotherapy into those with higher benefit (wild type), intermediate benefit (FLT3-internal tandem duplication [ITD] or NRAS/KRAS mutation), or lower benefit (TP53 mutation) after azacitidine plus venetoclax treatment was developed. DNA profiling is an established method for cancer treatment selection, while RNA profiling remains investigational. We explored associations between DNA and RNA alterations and between the number of genes with altered expression and overall survival (OS) using patient data from IMPACT2 (NCT02152254), a randomized study evaluating molecular profiling for guiding cancer therapy across tumor types. Molecular profiling, including DNA next-generation sequencing, was performed on all 829 patients in the IMPACT2 study. RNA profiling was performed by Tempus for 253 of 829 patients. In the past decade, the increased availability of genome-wide association studies summary data has popularized Mendelian Randomization (MR) for conducting causal inference. MR analyses, incorporating genetic variants as instrumental variables, are known for their robustness against reverse causation bias and unmeasured confounders. Nevertheless, classical MR analyses using summary data may still produce biased causal effect estimates due to the winner’s curse and pleiotropy issues. To address these two issues and establish valid causal conclusions, we propose a unified robust Mendelian Randomization framework with summary data, which systematically removes the winner’s curse and screens out invalid genetic instruments with pleiotropic effects. …

The rapid expansion of electrified transportation and renewable energy integration demands advanced lithium-ion (Li-ion) and sodium-ion (Na-ion) batteries with enhanced safety, long-term reliability, and high energy efficiency. However, conventional systems employing liquid electrolytes continue to exhibit persistent failure modes, including thermal instability, parasitic interfacial reactions, transition-metal dissolution, and electrode degradation under high-voltage or fast-charging conditions. These limitations become even more critical in solid-state configurations, where insufficient ion mobility and interfacial incompatibility can severely restrict electrochemical performance. BACKGROUND: Biomarkers are routinely measured from human biospecimens and imaging scans in Alzheimer disease (AD) research. Age is a well-known risk factor for AD. Detecting the baseline age at which the longitudinal change in biomarkers starts to accelerate is important to design preventive interventions. METHODS: We analyzed longitudinal biomarker data by a random intercept and random slope model where the slope (longitudinal rate of change) was modeled as a piecewise linear and continuous function of baseline age.
