The spring of 1957 was a difficult time for me. I had planned to attend every Bjoerling performance during the 1957-58 season not knowing in the spring of ’57 that those Met performances would be his last ones for two seasons. So the announcement of Jussi’s return to the Met on November 16, 1959 in Cavalleria Rusticana was to begin a special season for me. Getting tickets for that performance involved standing on a long line that stretched down Thirty-ninth Street down to Broadway.

When I read the announcement of Anders’s passing, I immediately thought of Judie. By my calculations, they had passed their 8th wedding anniversary in May. Many of us met her at the Salt Lake City Conference in 2015. Judie renewed Anders. What would he have done without her? They had wonderful years together, and she cared for him through his acute myeloid leukemia (AML). No one else ever knows the depth and breadth of each person’s journey of departure. Methods: The study utilized a mixed-methods approach comprising two phases. Background

Building capacity of health professional educators in low- and middle-income countries can improve population health outcomes through upskilling the health workforce. However, education programs must respond to local contexts and challenges including participants’ needs and expectations, language difficulties, and resource limitations. This paper evaluates a program for nursing and community health worker educators in Papua New Guinea.

Methods

This qualitative descriptive study was designed and implemented using a collaborative partnership approach. It comprised six focus groups with 26 educators who were program participants. Thematic analysis examined participants’ perceptions of the program and their implementation of change projects.

Atrial septal defects are common congenital heart anomalies and may coexist with rare systemic venous abnormalities. We describe a one-year-old female with a large secundum atrial septal defect and an unusual retrocardiac innominate vein. Transthoracic echocardiography suggested a persistent left superior vena cava, but the innominate vein was absent from its usual location and the coronary sinus was not dilated. Cardiac CT angiography demonstrated a retrocardiac innominate vein draining into the azygos system and subsequently to the right atrium. Surgical atrial septal defect closure was successful. Recognition of this anomaly is essential for accurate diagnosis and procedural planning.

Techniques described herein provide for a runtime-aware defect/advisory notification system that filters or reprioritizes alerts for a device based on whether defective/vulnerable code has executed on the device.  Instead of assuming all devices running a particular software release are equally vulnerable, the techniques rule out defects/vulnerabilities that have not occurred at the current runtime state for a device.  The techniques focus on negative confirmation in which relevant defects are identified by tracking the absence of defective code execution.
