My friend groups have always been ethnically and racially diverse. Once, while pouring over pictures from my quinceañera celebration, my mom laughed and pointed out that my friend group could be on the cover of a magazine that celebrates diversity. I think that children of immigrants understand each other on an instinctive level, so we flock to each other. Regardless of mom’s and dad’s countries, we feel this shared sense of displacement. We’re too different from “typical American” kids, and we’re “too American” when we go back to our parents’ countries. For most of my life, this feeling went unsaid.

While Mary sits at the Savior’s feet and listens to his words, Martha bustles about doing what she thinks is her duty, serving others (The Holy Bible, Luke 10:38-42). When she complains to Christ that her sister is not helping her with the work, He will not instruct Mary to leave his side, instead telling Martha that her sister has chosen the good part.

STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective observational cohort.

OBJECTIVE: A review of efficiency and safety of fluoroscopy and stereotactic navigation system for minimally invasive (MIS) Sacroiliac (SI) fusion through a lateral technique.

METHODS: Retrospective analysis of an observational cohort of 96 patients greater than 18 years old, that underwent MIS SI fusion guided by fluoroscopy or navigation between January 2013 and April 2020 with a minimum of 3 months follow-up. Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) with a variable combination of electromyography (EMG), somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEPs) and motor evoked potentials (MEPs) was also utilized.

Managing the flow of excavated materials from a mine pit and the subsequent processing steps is the logistical challenge in mining. Mine planning needs to consider various geometric and resource constraints while maximizing the net present value (NPV) of profits over a long horizon. This mine planning problem has been modelled and solved as a precedence constrained production scheduling problem (PCPSP) using heuristics, due to its NP-hardness. However, the recent push for sustainable and carbon-aware mining practices calls for new planning approaches. The corpus of 223 news articles has been collected from Bangladeshi newspaper, The Daily Star from November 2017 to November 2019, after the repatriation deal between Bangladesh and Myanmar on 23 November 2017. To explore how The Daily Star used quoted voices to represent the Rohingya crisis, Halliday's transitivity process was used as an analytical tool from his Systemic Functional Grammar (SFG) method. Subgraph enumeration is important for many applications such as network motif discovery, community detection, and frequent subgraph mining. To accelerate the execution, recent works utilize graphics processing units (GPUs) to parallelize subgraph enumeration. The performances of these parallel schemes are dominated by the set intersection operations which account for up to $95\%$ of the total processing time. (Un)surprisingly, a significant portion (as high as $99\%$) of these operations is actually redundant, i.e., the same set of vertices is repeatedly encountered and evaluated. Recently, increased number of studies have demonstrated a relationship between the oral microbiome and development of head and neck cancer, however, there are few studies to investigate the role of oral bacteria in the context of the tumor microenvironment in a single head and neck subsite. Here, paired tumor and adjacent normal tissues from thirty-seven oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) patients were subjected to 16S rRNA gene sequencing and whole exome sequencing (WES), in addition to RNA sequencing for tumor samples. The current research investigated the influence of the Fear of Losing Out (FoLO) mindset on learning strategy via performance goal orientation and its interaction with social comparison amongst Singaporean college students. In Study 1, a positive relationship between FoLO and performance goal orientations (i.e., avoidance and approach) was found. Study 2 replicated this finding and further revealed a downstream effect of FoLO on surface learning via performance goal orientations. In addition, social comparison moderated the link between performance goal orientation and surface learning in the mediation model. Specifically, in downward social comparison conditions, FoLO facilitated high performance-avoidance goal orientation, which …

BACKGROUND: Ofatumumab is approved for the treatment of relapsing multiple sclerosis (RMS). Ongoing safety reporting is crucial to understand its long-term benefit-risk profile.

OBJECTIVE: Report the safety and tolerability of ofatumumab in RMS after extended treatment up to 3.5 years.

METHODS: Patients completing ASCLEPIOS I/II (phase 3), APLIOS, or APOLITOS (phase 2) trials could enter ALITHIOS, a phase 3b, open-label, long-term safety study. We analyzed cumulative data of continuous ofatumumab treatment and of patients newly switched from teriflunomide.

RESULTS: The safety population had 1969 patients: 1292 continuously treated with ofatumumab (median time-at-risk 35.5 months, 3253 patient-years) and 677 newly switched …

Research on the international students primarily focuses on adjustment and acculturation issues rather than building and maintaining the wellness of specific cultural groups of international students. This study used basic psychological needs involved in self-determination theory to investigate the relationship between autonomy, competence, and relatedness needs, self-determined way of functioning, and wellness of Turkish international students in the U.S. Data was collected before Covid-19 pandemic using a self-administered survey from 179 (71 females) Turkish international students with a mean age of 29.7 years. This paper examines the introduction of catalogue stalls among London-based national museums and galleries in the 1910s, using the British Museum as an extended case study. It seeks to frame this initiative as an important moment in the history of museums as they shifted from predominately scholastic institutions, largely unresponsive to the needs of their visitors, to ones with a growing awareness of their role in public education. By being prominently positioned in museum lobbies, the catalogue stall provided a focal point for visitors to extend their cultural experience through educational or souvenir materials, and can be seen as part …
