Information Sciences Letters

This paper presents an explanation of the multi-objective-transportation problem (MOTP) via Fuzzy programming algorithm and the goods is to be transported from origin to destination. The time and cost of transportation from origin i to destination j were recorded. Here we-have considered MOTP with-intuitionistic fuzzy numbers and completed the problem in both ways. Therefore, the optimal compromise solution will remain same both the exponential and linear membership function. For the solution the membership functions are used for such a problem. LINDO statistical-software was used in the present facts analysis and is completed in two stages.

Impact Resistance Of Gfrp Reinforced Concrete One-Way Slabs, Yaseen Ali Salih, Aziz I. Abdulla, Muyasser M. Jomaa’H

Information Sciences Letters

Concrete structures are usually subjected to short-term dynamic loads besides long-term static loads. Tensile strength and energy dissipation characteristics are reduced as a result of these loads as long as the concrete is weak in resisting impact loads. This paper studies the behavior of one-way concrete slabs reinforced with glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) under an impact load. A comparison one-way concrete slabs reinforced with GFRP and normal steel has been done. Six slabs with dimensions of (4000*1000*180) mm are cast. Three specimens for each type of slab have been constructed and tested under impact load. A simple device has …

Applicability Of Emotion To Intelligent Systems, Dionéia Motta Monte-Serrat, Carlo Cattani

Information Sciences Letters

We propose to investigate the connection between emotions and cognition in intelligent systems through the dynamic concept of language, which links context to logic in both human and machine language. For this, our approach is inspired on aspects of the information theory of Abraham Moles. We analyze emotions under the semantic dimension, linked to a subjective context, which gives rise or not to decisions. We demonstrate that intelligent systems can, on the one hand, work with previously categorized emotions (say in a frozen context); or, on the other hand, process information under a dynamic aspect. This is possible when considering …

Emotional speech recognition (ESR) has significant role in human-computer interaction. ESR methodology involves audio segmentation for selecting units to analyze, extract features relevant to emotion, and finally perform a classification process. Previous research assumed that a single utterance was the unit of analysis. They believed that the emotional state remained constant during the utterance, even though the emotional state could change over time, even within a single utterance. As a result, using an utterance as a single unit is ineffective for this purpose. The study’s goal is to discover a new voiced unit that can be utilized to improve ESR …
