Investigation Of The Behavior Of Biparametric Potentials Associated With The Laplace-Bessel Differential Operator In Weighted Lebesgue Spaces, Çağla Seki̇n

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this article, we investigate the mapping properties of potential-type operators of the form J^α_β = (E + (−Δ_ν)^β/2)^−α/β, (β, α > 0), where Δ_ν is the Laplace-Bessel differential operator. We establish norm inequalities that describe the boundedness of the operator J^α_β from L_p,ν to L_q,ν under suitable conditions on α, β, p and q. The results extend and unify the known estimates for classical potential operators. In particular, the cases β = 1 and β = 2 correspond to the modified Flett and Bessel potentials, respectively.

In this study, we investigate the existence of solutions for a quadratic integral equation of the Fredholm type. The analysis is conducted on a finite interval bounded by two arbitrary constants, where the unknown function is associated with a prescribed kernel and two operators satisfying specific regularity and boundedness conditions. The methodological framework of this work is built upon the classical Schauder fixed point theorem, complemented by the structural properties of Hölder spaces. In this paper, we study space-like, time-like and light-like Killing magnetic curves derived from Killing magnetic vector fields of the anti-de Sitter space H³₁ by using the half-space model H³₁ of H³₁. We find the first integrals of the system of nonlinear differential equations that describe the Killing magnetic curves corresponding to some Killing vector fields of H³₁, and then we give some particular solutions to obtain space-like, time-like and light-like magnetic curves of H³₁. In this paper, we define multiplicative dual numbers, multiplicative dual vectors, scalars, and vector products associated with the multiplicative dual numbers. We give the base elements of multiplicative dual elliptic quaternions and their operational properties. We explain the rotation and translation motions in multiplicative dual elliptical quaternions. We provide the matrix representations of the screw motion using multiplicative dual elliptical quaternions. Thanks to these multiplicative dual elliptical quaternions, we explain the screw motion along with rotation and translation with theorems and proofs. We visualize this screw motion with mathematical programs by applying screw-ruled surfaces.

Background More than 1 million Americans reside in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs). Antimicrobial transition errors among patients transferred from hospital to SNFs pose safety risks and may lead to poor outcomes, but data on such errors are limited.   Methods We conducted a retrospective cohort study of infectious diseases clinics from 1 June 2020 through 30 November 2023 at the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, a large safety-net health system. We performed logistic regression analyses to identify factors associated with antimicrobial transition errors and poor infection outcomes.   Results We screened records of 6865 clinic patients, among whom 112 were …

In Northern Ireland, policy rhetoric over the past decade has consistently highlighted the need for sustained investment in the social care workforce. This article examines the challenges of training social intervention professionals in an increasingly polarised society. Drawing on theoretical perspectives on political and affective polarisation, it explores how contemporary social divisions shape social work practice. The analysis includes findings from a five-year qualitative study on radicalisation prevention in France, highlighting tensions between security imperatives and the ethical foundations of social work. These tensions often generate mistrust and professional dilemmas for practitioners. The article argues that social work education must address polarisation directly. A trial implementation of this checklist at Stem Cell Reports revealed consistent gaps in the reporting of critical data relating to the cells and experimental methodologies employed in published manuscripts.

Borate-based glasses modified with alkali oxides are of considerable interest due to their tunable structural and optical properties, which are important for optical and energy storage applications. In this work, glasses with a novel nominal composition of xLi2O-(75-x) B2O3—20Bi2O3—5V2O5, in which (x ¼ 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 mol %) were produced using the traditional melt-quenching technique to investigate the effect of substituting the glass former B2O3 with the modifier Li2O. The structural and optical properties were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and UV—visible spectroscopy. The XRD analysis confirms the amorphous nature of the samples produced. …

Closely related species often exhibit distinct morphologies that can contribute to species-specific adaptations and reproductive isolation. One example is Lepidopteran caterpillar appendages, such as the “caudal horn” of Bombycoidea moths, which have evolved substantial morphological diversity among species in this group. Using interspecific crosses, we identify the genetic basis of the caudal horn size difference between Bombyx mori and its closest relative Bombyx mandarina. The three largest of eight QTL account for one third the mean horn length difference between the species. The largest of these, on chromosome 4, encompasses a conserved Wnt family gene cluster, key upstream regulators …

Soil depth is critical to ecosystem productivity, acting as a reservoir for water, nutrients, and carbon. Deeper soils enhance water holding capacity to withstand droughts in native and agricultural systems, and provide more volume for long-term carbon sequestration, directly influencing soil health and climate regulation. This dataset scraped public well log (AKA well driller’s report) data from the Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) to create a soil depth map across the Magic Valley in south-central Idaho, USA. Young adults (18–25 years) constitute about a quarter of the homeless population in Flanders and often experience difficulties transitioning to adulthood. Research conducted at KU Leuven shows elevated rates of mental health issues (23%), intellectual disabilities (14%), and addiction-related challenges (17.7%) within this demographic, with many individuals having a history in youth care services (Hermans & Italiano, 2021).

Due to the combination of these complex factors, these young adults frequently fall between the cracks of existing service provision. Previous literature argues that addressing youth homelessness effectively requires a specialised, integrated and intensive approach (Hermans & Italiano, 2021).

In this practice‑oriented research we explore how storyweaving can counterbalance the increasingly negative public discourse surrounding youth care. While societal narratives often emphasise staff shortages, aggression, and systemic failure, youth care workers also describe moments of connection, growth, and meaning that rarely enter the dominant conversation. Through nine storyweaving workshops with 79 youth care workers, six duo‑interviews across roles and organisations, and ongoing reflection with a professional steering group, three central themes emerged: the importance of connection and recognition, the shrinking “space in between” where genuine relational work can occur, and the need to focus on process rather than results. …
