Infertility is a problem affecting about 15% of newly married couples. Twenty five percent of them have no identifiable etiology; idiopathic. A lot of drugs and agents have been used empirically. Pentoxifylline has been used effectively invitor with IVF and ICSI. To asses its efficacy in treatment of idiopathic infertility, oral pentoxifylline HCl (tronteral) has bees prescribed orally to 60 patients with idiopathic infertility. It has been given twice daily for three months, after that a new SFA show no response in the majority of patients. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is a common psychiatric disorder, which may cause significant distress and disability. This study was an attempt to identify the symptom frequency of this significant disorder among the patients attending the only out patient clinic in Al-Diwanyia Teaching Hospital (180 Km south of Baghdad). Headache (75%), Fatigue (70%), Palpitation (67.5%), Chest pain (66.6%) and Persistent irritability (64.1%) were the most frequent symptoms in 120 outpatients with a diagnosis of GAD.

This study carried out on Forty-three patients attending hospitals for elective surgical resection of colorectal cancer (CRC) from October 2002 to March 2004. Thirty-five resection margins that histopathologically proved free of malignancy taken from the normal tissue of the same patients used as controls of staining efficiency and evaluation for immunohistochemistry (IHC). p16INK4a immunoexpression in the CRN are less than 5% and regarded as negative while 32 of 43 CRC patients had positive reaction for p16INK4a.

Four hindered seventy six clinical samples were collected from patients since June 2003 to May 2004 the number of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from the samples were 163 isolates as follows : urine 52 isolates , wound swab 38 isolates , ear swab 21 isolates , tonsillar swab 17 isolates. Sixty patients diagnosed as depression at Al-Diwania teaching hospital by two psychiatrist using Beck-Dep. Inventory Short version, compared with eighty non- psychiatrically disturbed controls, in the period between 1st July 2000 to 31 Dec. 2000. Were studied for life events using a semi-structured life events interview. It was found that depressed group had significantly more life events in the twelve months preceding the onset of their depression than the controls in the same periods.

The study determined the frequency of anxiety disorders in a large group of depressed outpatients. The Composit International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI) was administered to130 depressed outpatients. More than one-half of the patients met the full criteria for a current anxiety disorder, and more than one-half of the patients with an anxiety disorder had more than one. This study was carried out in Al-Habobi Hospital for Children and Maternity in Al-Nasseria city. Fifty-four blood cultures were obtained from 54 children (age from 7 days to three years) with history of febrile, focal infection and history of illness. Forty-three isolates were isolated from forty patients (22 males and 18 females) with blood steam infections. A study of hyponatremia in adult hospital inpatients over 16 yrs old admitted to the medical department of Al-Diwania teaching\ Hospital from the 1st of June 2006 to 10th of November 2006, showed that (50) out of (720) patients studied had serum sodium concentration below 135 meq/L. The study was carried out to assess the effect of cinnamon oil on multi-drug resistant (MDR) strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Proteus mirabilis isolated from patient infected with otitis media. 50 specimens were collected at AL Hakeem Teaching Hospital in AL-Najaf governorate, 20 isolates were found to be Staphylococcus spp. and Proteus spp. on further studying for the species level only six of these isolates were found to be multi-drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Proteus mirabilis. Soil mycoflora in several schools, mosques and hotels in Diwaniya city were examined using dilution plate technique and three different culture media with and without supplementation of cycloheximide antifungal. A total number of fungal isolates observed in all experiments were 2589 that represent 57 species related to 48 genus, in addition to the white and dark sterile mycelium. Cycloheximide substantially affected the frequency of isolated fungi. Where Penicillium chrysogenum was the most frequent species (44.73%) on culture media free from cycloheximide. Objective :A survey was carried out to assess the prevalence of congenital heart diseases (CHD).Patients And Methods: among (180) Down's syndrome (DS)children in institute for mentally handicapped (Alraga institute) and outpatients referred for ECHO study in Diwaniyah Teaching Hospital.REULTS: It was found that (61.1%) of DS cases studied had CHD with a M:F ratio of 1.5:1. Objective: Astudy was carried out to verify peri partum cardiomyopathy (PPCMP) frequency among other cardiomyopathy (CM)Patients and methods : From April 2001 to April 2005 , out and in patients (98) patients with clinically unexplained congestive heart failure had been subjected to careful echocardiographic study.Results : it was found that (13.2%) of dilated CM studied had PPCM. All the 13 patients of PPCM were multiparous ; had heart failure in stage 111-1V; and they were anemic and underweight.

A total (50)patients with hip fracture, admitted to the Al-Diwaniya teaching hospital were screened for the depression and those fitting the criterion for the depression were studied further. 32% of the patients with the hip fracture met the criterion for the depression based on DSMIV. Psoriasis vulgaris is a common, chronic, recurrent, inflammatory disease of the skin characterized by round, erythematous, dry scaly plaques of various sizes.
