The Correlation Between Syntactic Knowledge And Reading Comprehension, Novita Pratiwi

This study aimed to find out the precise degree of relationship between syntactic knowledge (represented by grammar scores) and reading comprehension within EPT context. The data collected were in form of examinees' individual scores of EPT taken from two language institutes. The data representing 160 examinees were divided into two sets of scores: grammar and reading. Utilizing statistical analysis software, the researcher analyzed the data using Pearson's correlation coefficient. The result shows that syntactic knowledge and reading comprehension have strong positive correlation. It indicates that examinees' grammar scores might predict their reading scores within EPT.

The purpose of this study is to determine the process of strategic management of character-based characterization of Carmelite spirituality at Senior High School. This study uses a qualitative approach with multi-site study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis used single data analysis and cross-site data analysis. Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (Circ) On Writing Achievement Across Self-Efficacy, Heny Setyawati, Suharmanto Suharmanto, Johannes Anantya Prayogo

This study was conducted to reveal the effectiveness of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) implementation on writing achievement by considering the level of students' self-efficacy. The findings revealed that CIRC contribute a better effect on student' writing achievement than conventional method. This also revealed that writing achievement was higher on students who categorized in high self-efficacy than those categorized in low self-efficacy. Furthermore, it was noted that self-efficacy and teaching method had no interaction.

This study aims to compare how Indonesian and English Native writers use hedges in their published research articles. The source of data was 40 research articles published in English written by Indonesian and English Native writers. The study investigated three sections of each research article (Introduction, Discussion, and Conclusion) where hedging devices are usually used. To get the hedge frequencies, the data were analysed using concordance program called Ant FileConverter (1.2.1) and AntConc (3.5.0). Students' Perceptions Of The Flipped Academic Writing Classroom Learning Activities, Muhammad Dzulfiqar Praseno, Utari Praba Astuti, Niamika El Khoiri

Flipped-classroom strategy, as the name suggests, flips the conventional teaching and learning process. In a flipped classroom, students learn the materials at home in an online platform (out-class) and then they learn more through discussion with their peers in the classroom (in-class). This study focuses on students' perceptions of the activities in a flipped academic writing classroom. The result shows that the activities were able to help students to learn and improve their academic writing. In addition, students also gave positive responses to the use of teaching media and peer feedback sessions.

The aim of this study is to describe students' willingness to communicate in English through virtual classroom during Covids-19 Pandemic. This study used descriptive qualitative research design, conducted at SMK Negeri 8 Malang. Data collection methods were obtained from students' responses on questionnaires and compiled with transcripts of the virtual interview result. The finding showed the students preferred to communicate in English written rather than English spoken.

The Effect Of Using Google Docs On The Students' Skill In Writing Expository Essay Across Personality Learning Style, Bagio Tjahjadi, Sintha Tresnadewi, Bambang Yudi Cahyono

This research is aimed at (1) finding out whether the EFL students taught using Google docs show better writing ability than those taught without using Google docs, (2) discovering if there is a significant difference in writing ability between the introverted students and extroverted students taught using Google docs. The results showed that the mean score of experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group. When it comes to personality learning styles, there was no significant difference in the mean scores obtained by the extroverted students and introverted students.

This study is intended to investigate the communication using IRF sequence, issues occurred during teaching-process, and critical thinking in Basic Analysis of Poetry class. The result indicates that the faculty member used questions to build ELT students' critical thinking and ELT students believe that by reading a lot of poems will help them to develop their critical thinking. In conclusion IRF sequence with certain modification will help the faculty member to communicate with the students.

Language learning strategies (LLSs) play an essential role in the process of English language learning. This study is aimed at investigating language-learning strategies employed by successful Indonesian EFL high school students. This study is of significance to provide a model of strategies practiced by successful EFL students who manage to develop good command of English regardless certain limitations and challenges they face. The results of this study show the students actively employ a combination of affective and cognitive-social learning strategies to develop their English skills.

ReadyRead is an Android-based application which provides several features for scaffolding reading comprehension practice. It is the product of Design-Based Research. The present study examined high school students’ experience in using the application. An online questionnaire was employed to gather information on students’ opinions regarding the content, learning activities, and usability of the app. Results of the data analysis revealed the most favorable feature in the app perceived to be the most helpful for students in learning reading independently. Engaging in research can benefit students in several ways. However, higher learning institutions have been challenged to engage students in research experiences. The present study is conducted to discover what undergraduate students experience in the research process, and how they accomplish their tasks during the process. Narrative research is used for this study to understand present real-life experiences. The study revealed that students experience different conditions and apply various techniques in the research process. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan dan kemauan untuk menerima vaksinasi COVID-19 di kalangan siswa MAS Ulmul Quran di Banda Aceh. Studi menyimpulkan bahwa tidak ada korelasi signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan dengan kemauan menerima vaksinasi.
