Centrifugal pumps are widely used in industrial processes for transferring fluids under varying operating conditions. These pumps require a minimum flow rate to maintain internal cooling and prevent damage caused by overheating, cavitation, and excessive vibration during startup, shutdown, or process upsets. Failure to maintain this minimum flow can lead to premature wear of pump components, seal failures, and reduced operational reliability.

Ultra Supercritical (USC) power plants operate at extremely high pressures (typically above 250 bar) and temperatures exceeding 600°C to achieve maximum thermal efficiency. During boiler startup, water must be gradually introduced into the system to control thermal stress and prepare for steam generation. Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are disclosed for executing electronic transactions using a location-based predictive model. In one implementation, a location of a user device is monitored and provided to a machine learning model configured to predict a merchant proximate to the device. Merchant information is presented via a user interface, and user input requesting transaction initiation is received. Following the completion of Michelangelo’s David 1504, Gonfalonier Piero Soderini presented the emerging Florentine artist with a proposal for a second statue on behalf of Florence’s government: a statue of Hercules to stand alongside the David at the entrance of the Palazzo Vecchio. Michelangelo readily accepted, however the commission never came to be; what remains of Michelangelo’s vision for the Herculean pendant now resides in the Casa Buonarroti Museum of Florence: a rough terracotta model of Hercules and Cacus. Introduction: Neurophobia has contributed to the shortage of neurologists nationally, especially given the lack of integration between basic neural sciences and clinical neurology. Neurophobia may be highest after the pre-clerkship course, and there is evidence to suggest that early and broad clinical neurology exposure and mentorship are the leading factors in choosing the field of neurology. The goal of this study was to develop a fellowship for pre-clerkship medical students to increase early exposure to diverse clinical settings and socialization in neurology and assess whether there was change in neurophobia.

Study of tick-host association is critical to understanding host-pathogen ecology. Collection of ticks from mammalian hosts is difficult because of permitting, cost, and time considerations, particularly for medium and large mammals. The ODU Tick Research Team has been collecting ticks from mammals since 2010 using a combination of serendipitous sampling from roadkill and donations from veterinarians, hunters, and wildlife rehabilitators. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is increasingly recognized as a multisystem neurodegenerative disorder involving oxidative stress and neuroinflammation beyond classical hippocampal pathology.
