Currently, UUCA's commitment to diversity is falling short as the congregation struggles to use community accountability to address harm. The covenant is an essential part of the Unitarian Universalist faith tradition, and it has the potential to shape and guide the use of community accountability within a congregation. During the Golden Age of the 1930's to 50's, characters such as Superman and Captain America appeared in World War II propaganda fighting the Axis Powers. "In the sections that follow, we develop theoretical scaffolding for our analysis. We begin by reviewing the literature on institutional work, focusing on how embedded actors engage in purposive actions to disrupt taken-for-granted norms. Next, we examine theoretically how influencers operate, setting the stage for understanding how deinfluencers leverage and subvert these roles. We then review scholarship on anti- consumption and consumer resistance, highlighting how deinfluencers depart from conventional activist modes by adopting culturally embedded, everyday practices. Collectively, these literatures inform our conceptualization of deinfluencing as a dramaturgically enacted form of institutional work. Subsequently, we present our methodology, followed by …

Background/Objectives: Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) is a neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a triplet repeat expansion in the Fmr1 gene leading to the loss of Fragile X Messenger Ribonucleoprotein (Fmr1 protein). The loss of Fmr1 protein modulates many cell biological processes and leads to the emergence of intellectual disability and autism. FXS is modeled in Fmr1-KO mice that display features consistent with human FXS, including hypersensitivity, cognitive and learning deficits, hyperactivity and audiogenic seizures. AiXGa1−XN (0.7 < X < 1) Schottky Diodes Using Distributed Polarization Doped Layer With A Current Density Of 14 Ka/Cm2, Tariq Jamil, Abdullah Al Mamun Mazumder, Mafruda Rahman, Muhammad Ali, Grigory Simin, M. Asif Khan

High Al-content Al_xGa_1-xN (0.7 < x < 1) quasi-vertical Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs) with distributed polarization doping were grown on the bulk AlN substrate. They exhibit excellent rectification behavior with a large forward current density (~14 kA/cm² ) and a high breakdown field of ~8.3 MV/cm. The SBDs also exhibited low ideality factors of (n~1.2) with a high Schottky barrier height (Φ _b~ 1.7 eV). Thus, this study demonstrates the feasibility of the distributed polarization doping approach for high current–high voltage devices.

Children of mothers with childhood trauma are at an increased risk for mental health problems, yet the most influential family-related mediators of this intergenerational transmission remain unclear. This systematic review and meta-analysis synthesized effect sizes from 29 studies (n = 352,279 dyads) examining psychosocial family-level mediators between maternal childhood trauma and child mental health. We identified 380 simple and 40 serial mediation paths across four domains: child characteristics, maternal characteristics, parent–child relationship factors, and household characteristics. Maternal characteristics showed the largest pooled effects (proportion median [PM]: 31.2%; ratio median [RM]: 0.21), particularly maternal mental health (PM: 36.0%), maternal attachment style …

RATIONALE: Older patients hospitalized for acute decompensated heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) experience persistently poor outcomes, including physical disability, cognitive impairment, depression, impaired health-related quality of life (HRQOL), rehospitalizations, loss of independence, and mortality. In our previous phase 2 REHAB-HF trial, an innovative physical rehabilitation intervention, delivered across three phases-inpatient, 12-week outpatient, and 3-month home-based maintenance-produced large improvements in physical function and HRQOL, with signals of reduced clinical events among patients with acute HFpEF. These findings provide a compelling rationale for a definitive, event-powered trial to evaluate clinical outcomes.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton was the first woman to gain the presidential nomination from a major political party in the United States, yet she was unsuccessful. The current study explores barriers to being elected as president for women generally and Hillary Clinton specifically. Using the propositions and tools of affect control theory, we demonstrate how women’s political representation shapes cultural sentiments about women and the president. In a nationwide sample of Americans surveyed shortly before the election, we find women’s representation on the state level influences voter preferences through these cultural sentiments: More women in politics makes a woman president …

The dramatic rise in ultra-processed food (UPF) consumption worldwide has sparked growing concerns about its impact on cancer development and human health. UPFs contain high levels of added sugars, unhealthy fats, chemical additives, dyes, and toxic compounds formed during cooking and processing. This study investigates the relationship between UPF consumption and cancer through a review of primary and secondary sources, alongside an observational survey conducted among 15 healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and nursing educators. Survey findings indicate that 53% of participants observed higher cancer prevalence in patients consuming large amounts of UPFs, with colorectal cancer most frequently reported. The …

The Equity to Prosperity (E2P) Preschool Program was designed as an integrated early-childhood intervention that combines structured, developmentally informed instruction with family economic supports to improve the kindergarten readiness of 2-year-old children in Memphis, Tennessee. This study investigated whether the key design and implementation features of the E2P program contribute to its effectiveness and whether these features can inform revisions to early childhood education policy. Using a design-focused case study approach, the analysis drew upon Barzelay’s (2019) mechanism-intent analysis framework to examine how conceptual and embodiment design choices shaped implementation, instructional practice, and child outcomes. This dissertation examines the pedagogical and musical significance of Aldo Faldi’s 12 Brevi Studi Seriali per Oboe within the broader context of twentieth- and twenty-first-century solo oboe repertoire. While etude literature has historically functioned as a bridge between technical study and performance practice, the standard oboe etude canon remains largely rooted in nineteenth-century tonal idioms and does not adequately address the technical and perceptual demands of post-tonal music. Through detailed analytical study and comparative repertoire analysis, this project argues that Faldi’s etudes provide a systematic pedagogical framework for developing the skills required in contemporary oboe performance. This project reexamines the role of the viola within the classical canon, arguing for its repositioning as a melodic and collaborative instrument rather than a purely supportive inner voice. Analytical and experiential findings demonstrate that the viola’s capacity to modify articulation, timbre, and projection enables it to mediate between contrasting instrumental families such as bowed strings, winds, and percussion. Prior literature identifies discriminatory school experiences as a factor in Black women’s thoughts of leaving school psychology training programs (Jackson, 2023; Proctor, 2009). However, no studies have thoroughly examined how intersecting racial and gender discrimination contributes to Black women’s decisions to follow through with leaving. In addressing this gap, participants included eight Black women who left their programs between 2017 and 2023 due to discriminatory treatment. A reflexive thematic qualitative design was employed, and the following themes emerged: microaggressions, harsher evaluation and academic underestimation, alienation and exclusion, unsuccessful attempts to make the environment more bearable, and finding greatness elsewhere. The goal of this study is to investigate the effects of responsibility and social intelligence on dangerous driving behavior among young drivers. Quantitative (i.e., multiple hierarchical regression) and qualitative (i.e., thematic analysis) methods are combined to achieve this goal. A total of 404 US drivers aged 18-35 participated in this study and completed an online survey that included demographic questions, the Dula Dangerous Driving Index (DDDI), Tromsø Social Intelligence Scale (TSIS), Responsibility Questionnaire (RQ), and open-ended questions.
