Background/Objectives: Inherited retinal diseases (IRDs) represent a genetically heterogeneous group of disorders caused by mutations in over 280 genes with more than 3100 identified variants. While gene-specific replacement therapies have achieved landmark success with voretigene neparvovec (Luxturna) for biallelic RPE65-associated retinal dystrophy, developing individual therapies for each genetic subtype remains impractical. This review examines gene-agnostic therapeutic approaches utilizing neuroprotection and immunomodulation that target common pathophysiological mechanisms shared across multiple IRD genotypes. Methods: We reviewed the literature on neuroprotective and immunomodulatory gene therapy strategies for IRDs, focusing on neurotrophic factors and complement system modulation. The United States Department of Defense and Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated that female veterans and nurses experience work-related trauma at rates of 51% or higher. While many studies have examined their mental health outcomes, posttraumatic worsening of physical health has been less studied in this population. This generic qualitative inquiry was conducted to gain a deeper understanding of the subjective lived experiences of female nurses and veterans' work-related traumatic exacerbation of an existing respiratory disorder. Custody decisions are often informed by attachment-based arguments, yet little research has examined long-term effects of custody type on adult outcomes. This study involved examining whether joint versus sole physical custody predicted relationship satisfaction, testing both parental attachment and socioeconomic status as mediators. Data were collected from 226 adult participants (mean age = 33.42), whose parents separated before age 13. Validated measures were used to assesse relationship satisfaction, parental attachment, and socioeconomic status. Ineffective employee well-being strategies can contribute to elevated levels of voluntary turnover, resulting in increased employee replacement costs, lost organizational knowledge, and operational disruption. Human resource (HR) leaders who do not successfully develop employee well-being strategies may find their organization facing operational disruptions as a result. Grounded in social sustainability and the European corporate sustainability frameworks, the purpose of this qualitative pragmatic inquiry research project was to identify and explore effective employee well-being strategies used by HR leaders to reduce employee turnover and employee replacement costs. Mental health clinicians need effective integrative health treatment strategies to address the anxiety epidemic. The purpose of this qualitative generic study was to explore the perspectives of clinicians on the process of using equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) to treat adolescents and young adults with anxiety through the lens of a somatic theory, bioenergetics. This study examines healthcare in Indonesia’s archipelagic region, using semi-structured qualitative interviews with 20 informants, including island residents, medical professionals, and government officials. Findings reveal inadequate medical facilities on the islands, particularly for emergencies. For instance, there is only one hospital on Arajasa Island, established in 2023, while smaller, less populated islands rely solely on public health centers staffed by general practitioners, lacking specialists. Patients requiring specialized care must be referred to an off-island hospital, but transportation is limited and weather-dependent, leading to high personal costs if ships or boats are unavailable. This study examines how smart tourism technology (STT) and user-generated content (UGC) influence tourist satisfaction and loyalty behaviors among online travel agency (OTA) users in Thailand. Data were collected from 277 travelers aged 18 and above who booked accommodations through OTAs across four destinations: Khao San Road, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, and Phuket. Grounded in the technology acceptance model (TAM) and expectation confirmation theory (ECT), the study employed structural equation modeling (SEM) to analyze the interrelationships among STT, UGC, satisfaction, destination image, revisit intention, and electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM). Gender-creative children have an elevated risk of healthcare avoidance and adverse health outcomes related to stigma and discrimination. Despite evidence that family affirmation is protective and pediatric providers influence care outcomes, young children’s perspectives related to their social support and clinical experiences remain underrepresented in health research. Indeed, children’s agency has been historically restricted in healthcare and health research. This community-engaged, artsbased, qualitative study used Draw-and-Tell Conversations—a participatory approach combining drawing, storytelling, and writing—with 12U.S.-based gender-creative children (ages 5–10). Digitizing Tamil palm-leaf manuscripts is important for education, communication, and the preservation of cultural heritage. The complex structure of the Tamil script, the wide range of handwriting styles, and the degradation seen in ancient Tamil palm-leaf manuscripts make these texts very difficult to read and understand. Digital Image Processing (DIP), document analysis techniques, and traditional Optical Character Recognition (OCR) are unable to handle noise, background interference, faded ink, and limited labelled data, motivating the need for robust, effective Deep Learning (DL)- based solutions.

The American employee’s efforts to accumulate retirement wealth have been stunted by 401(k) plan vesting schedules for over half a century, yet vesting schedules continue to be legally permissible and pervasively used. Empirical research now exists to show the astronomical number of American workers that annually lose their employer contributions due to vesting schedules—over 1.8 million across 909 plans in 2022 alone. The same research also reveals that in 2022, workers forfeited over $1.5 billion in retirement savings. Critically, employers recycled over 82% of these funds, directly reducing their own contribution obligations. Many private-sector employees in the United States rely …

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to surprise us with its humanlike abilities, it raises the question of whether AI-created music can or should be afforded legal protection. Particularly, how should copyright law treat melodies produced by an AI designed to algorithmically generate every possible melody? This article seeks to answer that question, ultimately concluding that AI-produced melodies are not copyrightable and that melodies are not merely facts undeserving of copyright protection, but something valuable to mankind and worth protecting by law.

The role of the cohesin complex depends on the cohesin loader proteins NIPBL and MAU2. While NIPBL variants are a major cause of Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS), the role of MAU2 in disease is unclear. We describe 18 individuals carrying 15 heterozygous MAU2 variants and demonstrate pathogenicity through functional analyses. In-frame MAU2 variants predominantly impair NIPBL-MAU2 interaction, whereas truncating variants cause MAU2 haploinsufficiency and lead to NIPBL reduction. Most individuals exhibit a DNA methylation profile compatible with the CdLS episignature. We also describe two MAU2-specific episignatures that reflect variant-dependent molecular consequences. The Qualitative Report

This study examines how secondary-school teachers in post-conflict Central Maluku, Indonesia, enact cultural education to advance critical cultural literacy and social cohesion. Using a qualitative design, we conducted semi-structured interviews with 25 teachers, classroom observations across six schools, curriculum-document review, and field notes from school and community ceremonies (e.g., pela gandong village alliances; sasi resource-management). Data were analysed through abductive thematic coding informed by critical literacy and teacher-agency frameworks. Findings show teachers mobilise local narratives and practices to: (1) open dialogic spaces for discussing conflict and reconciliation; (2) cultivate critical interpretation of historical and media texts; (3) rebuild intergroup trust …
