BACKGROUND: Diet is a common risk factor influencing both oral and systemic health, yet dietary support within dental care is often limited to brief advice focused on sugar intake. Integrating dietitians into primary dental care for the paediatric population may support earlier identification of dietary concerns and provide the opportunity for dietetic care. However, no established integrated dietetic-dental service pathway for paediatric populations has been identified within primary dental care settings in the United Kingdom.

Introduction

Unprofessional behavior in health professions education adversely affects patient care, team functioning, communication, and learner development. Traditional professionalism curricula often focuses on elements of professionalism (eg, integrity, respect, duty) that may fail to illuminate the relational consequences of unprofessional behaviors. We  developed an educational intervention that reframed professionalism through the lens of trust and entrustment.

Methods

The face-to-face intervention aimed to help learners analyze professional behaviors by examining their effects on patient safety, teamwork, and professional growth using a four-element trust framework. Introduction: Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, such as Large Language Model (LLM) powered medical search engines, are rapidly becoming integrated into clinical medicine, yet adoption and correct-use education remain inconsistent among residents and faculty. Building on previous findings that highlighted the need for curriculum refinement and faculty champions, this performance improvement project focused supervision discussions. Actively creating an open dialogue discussing AI utilization during staffing encounters presents a crucial teachable moment to model appropriate use, clear misconceptions, and guide residents in the strategic leveraging of these tools for patient care.

Climate change has known impacts on the health of the maternal-fetal dyad. Economic instability, flooding and displacement lead to reduced access to care, disrupted crop yields and food supply challenges. Extreme heat has been linked to increased rates of fetal growth restriction, preterm delivery and stillbirth. Healthcare makes up 4.4% of net global emissions and work on Labor and Delivery (L&D) generates significant waste. Even when incineration of regulated medical waste (“red bag waste”) is done properly, there are still emissions which include greenhouse gases, heavy metals, toxins and particulate matter. Introduction:

Social and structural drivers of health, including environmental exposures such as air pollution, are increasingly recognized as essential components of equitable health care delivery. Despite this, internal medicine residents often face barriers to meaningfully incorporating environmental health considerations into clinical decision-making. Increasing learner interaction with “gamification” of these subjects has shown promise in improving learner engagement, autonomy, and competence in nontraditional biomedical topics. This project describes the development of an immersive escape room–style educational intervention focused on the health impacts of air quality for internal medicine residents.

Efficient water management in closed-loop plant production systems requires accurate characterization of evapotranspiration (ET), because crop water loss influences atmospheric moisture conditions within the controlled environment. Day–night ET dynamics were quantified in the Engineering Development Unit of the Utah Reusable Root Module, a zero-discharge system for controlled-environment crop production.

Volumetric water content was monitored at high temporal resolution using two electromagnetic sensors installed at different depths within five independent root modules with different surface-containment configurations. Hourly ET was derived from water-content depletion and cross-checked against irrigation inputs. Following seedling emergence, system ET increased from < 1 L d⁻¹ to approximately 3 L d⁻¹ by day 12. During rapid growth, defined as the four consecutive days when system ET exceeded this threshold, hourly ET differed significantly among four light-period categories, with daytime ET highest, followed by night-transition, day-transition, and nighttime ET.

Green product innovation (GPI) has become an essential strategy for companies to address environmental challenges while strengthening their competitiveness in a sustainable manner. However, important gaps remain in understanding how internal organizational factors interact with external pressures that shape their implementation.
