Model For Calculating The Static Characteristics Of Hydraulic Systems Of Hydro Technical Buildings, Mirkhalil Ismailov, Dong Zhang, Farkhod Kasimov Feb 2023

Model For Calculating The Static Characteristics Of Hydraulic Systems Of Hydro Technical Buildings, Mirkhalil Ismailov, Dong Zhang, Farkhod Kasimov

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

Hydraulic mechanisms that actuate flat gates, widely used in hydraulic structures, are studied as hydraulic actuators of the system. Their static mathematical models are developed using an integrated methodology with a hydraulic pump, inlet and suction pipes, and internal and external resistance factors. Unlike existing mathematical models, the model developed in this paper allows a detailed description of the characteristics of hydraulic drives due to the fact that pressure losses in the throttle, regulator, and power amplifier, as well as local resistances in hydraulic pipelines, are taken into account.

Synchronization Of The Training Of Specialists In The Automation Of Technological Processes In Accordance With The Dynamics Of The Taxonomy Of Learning Goals, Yusuf Shodievich Avazov, Kamola Abdullaeva

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

Changes in the characteristics of modern ones, reflecting them as the "digital generation", inevitably necessitate electronic interactive, mobile and mixed, machine learning, especially in the field of automation and control of technological processes and production. As a consequence of reflecting these realities, there have been parallel changes in the taxonomy of learning objectives - from the classical to the revised rethought and digital.

In order to study the problem of synchronizing the training of future specialists in the field of automation and control of technological processes and production and funny knowledge in accordance with the dynamics of the taxonomy of …

Analysis Of Vegetable Oil Refining Technology, Elyor Samadov Feb 2023

Analysis Of Vegetable Oil Refining Technology, Elyor Samadov

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

Innovative technologies for refining vegetable oils are presented, as well as the qualitative characteristics of raw vegetable oils obtained by extraction and mechanical methods. A general review of the chemical composition and impurities of vegetable oils resulting from the reaction between glycerol and fatty acids is carried out, and a brief review of the study to determine the effect of refining on biologically active components.

The analytical review is devoted to a comparative comparison of two types of refining - chemical and physical refining.

Occurrence Rates Of Spread-F Echoes In Australasian Vi Ionograms, James Vincent Eccles, Leo F. Mcnamara, Jeffrey M. Holmes Feb 2023

Occurrence Rates Of Spread-F Echoes In Australasian Vi Ionograms, James Vincent Eccles, Leo F. Mcnamara, Jeffrey M. Holmes

Space Dynamics Laboratory Publications

Observations of frequency spreading (FS) and range spreading (RS) in ionogram traces for Australian vertical incidence ionosondes for 1975 through 2013 have been analyzed to provide diurnal, seasonal, latitudinal, and solar-cycle variations of the occurrence rates of FS and RS traces. For midlatitude ionosondes, both FS and RS rates were found to be negatively correlated with solar activity. FS was found to have maximum occurrence rates in June and July (JJ), with sub-maximum in December and January (DJ) during solar minimum years. The FS occurrence rates in JJ months were highest just after midnight. RS echoes had lower occurrence rates …

The Role Of Telehealth In Enabling Sustainable Innovation And Circular Economies In Health, Dimitrios Kalogeropoulos, Paul Barach Feb 2023

The Role Of Telehealth In Enabling Sustainable Innovation And Circular Economies In Health, Dimitrios Kalogeropoulos, Paul Barach

College of Population Health Faculty Papers

Digital health interventions including telehealth support an increasingly broad range of improvement goals for prevention and treatment. Limitations obstructing the many digital benefits of telehealth from reaching their full potential include lack of robust usability and user centered design, regulatory policy paradigms, lack of adequate high-quality evidence and methodologies to evaluate the performance generalization and clinical robustness. Health innovation is explored in the context of different value systems and a solution is proposed to the fundamental limitations arising in the data value system, an approach to a new telehealth paradigm and incorporated intervention designs which combine clinical innovation with innovation …

Consumer Taste Beliefs Impact Organic Specialty Baked Good Pricing, Tatiana Drugova, Kynda R. Curtis Feb 2023

Consumer Taste Beliefs Impact Organic Specialty Baked Good Pricing, Tatiana Drugova, Kynda R. Curtis

All Current Publications

In this fact sheet, we discuss how consumer taste beliefs related to organic specialty baked goods differ from their taste beliefs for conventional specialty baked goods, and whether this difference affects the amount consumers are willing to pay for organic-labeled specialty baked goods. In other words, we examine how an organic label on baked goods affects taste perceptions and willingness to pay (WTP). Further, we examine whether providing information about organic labeling standards changes consumer taste beliefs and impacts WTP for organic baked goods. Finally, we examine the impact of providing taste information to mimic scenarios where respondents know the …

Landscaping In The Utah Wildland-Urban Interface, Jordan Goff, David T. Anderson, Jake Powell, Darren Mcavoy Feb 2023

Landscaping In The Utah Wildland-Urban Interface, Jordan Goff, David T. Anderson, Jake Powell, Darren Mcavoy

All Current Publications

The wildland-urban interface (WUI) is simply where human development mingles with wildland, or in other words, developed land next to undeveloped land. This area is at the highest risk for damage from wildfire. As our communities grow outward, the WUI is only expanding, putting more people at risk from wildfire. Therefore, it is important for homes built there to have fire-protective landscaping. Also, because Utah is a desert state currently in a drought, low-water landscaping is important for all Utah landscapes, including the WUI. This fact sheet addresses these issues and provides guidance on fire-protective and low-water landscaping.

The Real-Time Classification Of Competency Swimming Activity Through Machine Learning, Larry Powell, Seth Polsley, Drew Casey, Tracy Hammond Feb 2023

The Real-Time Classification Of Competency Swimming Activity Through Machine Learning, Larry Powell, Seth Polsley, Drew Casey, Tracy Hammond

International Journal of Aquatic Research and Education

Every year, an average of 3,536 people die from drowning in America. The significant factors that cause unintentional drowning are people’s lack of water safety awareness and swimming proficiency. Current industry and research trends regarding swimming activity recognition and commercial motion sensors focus more on lap swimming utilized by expert swimmers and do not account for freeform activities. Enhancing swimming education through wearable technology can aid people in learning efficient and effective swimming techniques and water safety. We developed a novel wearable system capable of storing and processing sensor data to categorize competitive and survival swimming activities on a mobile …
