A student submits a paper that reads smooth and confident. With generative AI, that polish no longer proves learning. Higher education now needs course designs that keep student thinking visible and assessable.

This literature review synthesizes 39 empirical studies (2024 through early 2026) on generative AI in higher education. It treats 22 learner-facing classroom studies as design cases and codes task type, permitted AI use, instructor guardrails, and measured outcomes. It uses the remaining studies to situate adoption, policy, and academic integrity risks.

Across the evidence, outcomes follow the design more than the tool. AI supports learning when it expands …

Small uncrewed aircraft systems (sUAS) are being utilized in a variety of environments, where changes in air density and pressure can influence flight efficiency and control stability. This study quantified how density altitude affects electrical current draw, battery performance, and flight duration of a multirotor sUAS across varied elevations in Argentina and Chile. Standardized flight tests, including hover endurance, waypoint navigation, and manual maneuver sequences, were performed using a DJI Mavic 3E at sites ranging from near sea level to over 3,700 feet (1,100 m) above Mean Sea Level. A hurricane’s intentions are unknown until you look it in the eye. Dragoon’s Coriolis Small Uncrewed Aircraft System (sUAS) has been engineered to collect atmospheric sounding data at low altitude regimes within these severe weather events. During 2025 operations, Coriolis has been classified as a mature prototype capable of operating more than 15 continuous hours and Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS). Launching from land, it travels under a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certificate of Waiver that grants it immunity from 14 CFR § 107.31 and § 107.33. This research presents the development and aerodynamic evaluation of finlets—a novel class of vortex-generating devices created by Mako Winglets. Unlike traditional vortex generators, Mako finlets utilize a unique, swept geometry optimized to enhance spanwise flow control and delay boundary layer separation on lifting surfaces. Computational and experimental analyses demonstrate that the finlet configuration promotes organized vortex formation, reducing induced drag and improving overall aerodynamic efficiency. The results highlight the potential of finlets as lightweight, low-cost performance enhancements for experimental and general aviation aircraft.

Over the past 40 years, the radar, satellite technology, statistical probability schemes, and numerical weather prediction models that meteorologists use to study and track tropical cyclones (TCs) have become increasingly advanced and refined. This has provided scientists with a clearer view of not only TCs themselves, but the environmental factors that impact them as well. This project presents a vision-based perception pipeline developed in the Space Robotics and Generative Estimation (SRGE) Lab to enable real-time sensing and classification for terrestrial robotic platforms. The system integrates a YOLOv11 object detection model with an Intel RealSense D455 depth camera to identify and estimate the range of aerial objects from live image streams. Trained on a dataset of over 2500 images, the model outputs spatially correlated detection and depth information to provide both semantic and geometric awareness. Satellite constellations in near-Earth orbit are increasingly vulnerable to solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and high-speed solar wind streams that disrupt communications, power systems, and orbital stability. Current mission architectures rely on delayed ground intervention and do not leverage predictive solar data for autonomous response. The HELIO project addresses this gap by developing an AI-driven resilience layer that converts real-time heliophysics forecasts into coordinated operational decisions for CubeSat swarms. HELIO integrates pretrained solar forecasting models such as NASA and IBM’s SURYA foundation model to predict active-region evolution, flare probability, and solar-wind velocity. This study presents a delta wing body for the UCAH Undergraduate Hypersonic Flight Design Competition, optimized for maximum low altitude range while meeting strict requirements on Mach number, stability, thermal survivability, size, mass, and maneuver capability. The configuration blends a blunted diamond nose with a moderately swept delta planform to harness vortex lift, preserve internal volume for structure and controls, and manage aeroheating through appropriate leading edge radius and skin thickness. Only one A-type supergiant, Deneb, has a measured angular diameter from long-baseline interferometric measurements. The next two brightest A-type supergiants, η Leo and ν Cep, are expected to have angular diameters below 1 milliarcsecond, well matched for the angular resolution of intensity interferometry with Imaging Air Cherenkov Telescope (IACT) arrays, such as VERITAS. While VERITAS has measured stars in a wide (20 nm) band, measurements in a very narrow band containing only the Hδ line have not been made. To predict the expected squared visibility across this line, we constructed stellar atmosphere models for η Leo and ν Cep. Here …
