Internet of Things (IoT) has become a necessary part of our everyday lives. IoT is the network in which many different devices communicate, connect, and share data. Though how IoT got to where it is today, the issues it faced, and how it affects our lives today is not common knowledge. Despite the fact that IoT has advanced our technology to what it is today, people do not completely understand what it does.

Innovative Research Framework For Strengthening Health Care And Public Health Engagement In Neighborhood Change As A Social Determinant Of Health, Christopher Williams, Nathaniel Woodard, Charlene Chao-Li Kuo
Advances in Clinical Medical Research and Healthcare Delivery
Background
Neighborhood change is a social determinant of health (SDOH) that has been associated with adverse health and increased health care utilization. The number of cities and neighborhoods undergoing intense gentrification, defined as an influx of wealthy populations into a working-class neighborhood, is not highly numerous. Public health and health systems are increasingly engaged with SDOH in community-level interventions. Pathways to study and affect NC-related health impacts are limited. This unfunded study provides a research framework to address concerns about financial investment, identifying population health needs, and community stakeholder engagement.
Methods
The authors conducted a cross-sectional pilot study in a …

Advances in Clinical Medical Research and Healthcare Delivery
Orthoplastic techniques are effective tools for limb salvage in the lower extremity. In order to apply proper techniques successfully, a surgeon must be aware of all the different types of flaps available. Proper pre-operative evaluation and patient selection are also important factors. The following review covers six papers that give surgeons a strong foundation in the anatomical basis and surgical technique of intrinsic muscle flaps and other fasciocutaneous or adipofascial flaps of the foot. These flaps, along with split thickness skin grafts, external fixation, and dermal regenerative templates, quickly close soft tissue deficits in the foot and ankle that often …

Telemedicine, Not The Panacea We Thought It Would Be. A Tale Of Caution, Ahmed Elkhapery, Syed Faiz Abbas, Basil George Verghese
Advances in Clinical Medical Research and Healthcare Delivery
In the last few decades, the growing use of telemedicine has allowed access to healthcare at reduced costs and increased monitoring of chronic conditions, especially in underserved and rural areas. It is a tool of great value in low-income countries where there is a paucity of specialists. In the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine was used to screen patients with COVID-19 like symptoms and send them to test sites directly. This helped minimize unnecessary healthcare staff and patient exposure to the infection and helped decompress ERs. Due to a lack of testing resources, many mildly symptomatic patients were presumed …

Sovereign Immunity In Commercial Transaction Under International Law, Dewi Susanti Siagian
Sovereign Immunity In Commercial Transaction Under International Law, Dewi Susanti Siagian
Indonesian Journal of International Law
Under international law, a state is immune from execution or judgement before any foreign jurisdiction. However, parallel with the urge to international transaction including between a state and a corporate, the international community demand a “protection” to the right of a corporate against a foreign government. Thus, international law is introducing a new doctrine of state immunity. Under the restrictive immunity, a state waives its right to immunity so long it become a party in a commercial transaction. On the other hand, the older doctrine which is absolute immunity, is giving the full protection to the state to any claim …

A first computing device, such as a computerized watch (e.g., a “smartwatch”), may use certain navigation and communication features without connecting (e.g., tethering) to a second computing device, such as a mobile phone (e.g., a “smartphone”). For example, the first computing device may use one or more communication components (e.g., a global positioning system (GPS) receiver) to determine a location of the first computing device (e.g., in real-time or substantially real-time) relative to a downloaded map. Additionally, the first computing device may use the communication components to perform two-way communication (e.g., transmit and receive signals). In some examples, the first …

In current Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) mobile core networks, when the Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) and/or the Session Management Function (SMF) interacts with the Unified Data Management (UDM)/Unified Data Repository (UDR), three steps are involved: performing a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) GET step to request subscription information for a user equipment (UE), performing subscription creation for subscription information changes, and performing registration creation to enable other network functions (NFs) to query the UDM to determine which AMF/SMF is currently serving the UE. Such steps, however, can introduce inefficiencies in the network. In order to address such potential …

Mutual authentication mechanisms that rely on certificates often have an expiry date attached to the certificates, which limits the usefulness of a certificate if it is exposed. The shorter the expiry, the better the protection; however, too short an expiry can cause service outages due to authentication failures if the certificate is not rotated in time. This disclosure describes techniques to re-authenticate an existing session upon demand by either party (client or server) of a mutual authentication scheme. If the new authentication fails (or if either certificate expires), the session is automatically broken. When re-authentication succeeds, it is transparent to …
